Chapter 2

Aphmau follows the two guards through the gate of what looks like a reasonably large village. She could spot at least six or eight children running around, but two caught her eye. A blonde boy that looked about the age of six, and a light brown haired boy that looked about eight, both staring at her as if she had done something wrong.

Aphmau didn't say a word as the two men grabbed her forearms and almost dragged her to something that looked like barracks or a jail. Earlier she had been asking where they were going, maybe this was the place? She would stay for the rest of her life most likely. Aphmau would have to live off bread and water as well, she would get fed at least. Hopefully.

They stopped in front of a cell. This one was the exact same as the others, small, damp and stunk of wet dog or something along those lines. Lifting Aphmau up just a bit the guards threw her in, making her land on her butt with a thud.

"That hurt," Aphmau mumbled, standing up just a bit. Silently she hoped she would not stay in here long. She would rather die than be stuck in a jail cell for the rest of her life. Although they would probably kill her after eventually.

The blonde one, Garroth if she was correct, looked at her as though he was sorry. While the brown haired one, Laurance, just looked out beyond the door of the prison. Staring measly off into space as if he had no care in the word. Garroth gently nudged him on the shoulder as if to get his attention.

"Go get Lord Zane, he should know about the trespasser," Garroth whispered, though quite loudly. It was loud enough for Aphmau to hear.

The lord? Aphmau gulped if she had known they would be showing her to the lord the very first chance they got she would have never gone with them. Even if that meant that she would have to stay outside in the, now, pouring rain, and the random flashes of lightning and crashes of thunder. She sighed as she knew that this might be the last time she ever remembers being happy, the lord might as well kill her on the spot.

"I am sorry about this," Garroth mumbled. "Ever since Lord Zane took over after the old lord passed we, mostly Laurance though, have changed."

"Changed?" Aphmau asked, curious as to why he said what he did. "What do you mean?"

"Well Laurance, he's-he's different. He used to be cheerful, now he's, well you've seen," Garroth explained. "It might just be because of my brother, Lord Zane."

"Your brother is the lord? If you know him so well do you know if there's a way to change his mind?" Aphmau questioned, slightly standing up.

Garroth didn't have time to answer, Laurance and a black haired man walked in. Aphmau assumed this was Lord Zane since he walked in with Laurance. Lord Zane took one look at her and smirked. Like he knew something no one else got.

"Let me out! I did nothing wrong!" Aphmau yelled at him as he got closer, holding the bars with her hands.

Zane crouched down so he was just a bit taller than her and grabbed her chin.

"Oh but you've done everything wrong, you just don't know."

It is now edited. Hope you enjoyed it!
