They made it back to the lair and wrapped Y/N to dry her off from the mutagen. During that time, Donnie took a blood sample from her since she was immune to mutagen and it could help make more retro-mutagen. When he was done, they all stared at her for an explanation.

"Y/N, I do not understand what you were thinking. Oruku Saki is a dangerous man. What were you trying to do?" Splinter asked.

She sighed and answered, "Well, it goes back to when Shredder's mutants gave me those three options. For those who don't know them, they were to tell them where your lair was, join them to still do so, or I watch you all die. I thought that since he was so interested in getting me that he would be afraid of me being able to take him down. So I offered him a chance to kill me instead. And I know that he might still attack you guys, but you guys have had more experiences than me. So one life sacrificed is better than seven."

She got up and left to her room. They all looked at each other in shock.

"Dudes, I may not have known her long, but she makes a lot of sense. If you guys said that she was like family, then she loves y'all enough to make the ultimate sacrifice for you guys," Casey explained.

"I understand it too. Remember when April was kidnapped in the technodrome and we almost didn't make it out. I was gonna do the same thing to make sure you guys made it out. We can't really blame her," Leo responded.

"I will admit, making the deal with Shredder wasn't the smartest choice she made, but it was for us," Donnie commented.

"Yes. Her heart is in the right place, but someone must talk to her. Raphael, please go and do so," Splinter said.

"Me? But Sensei, I almost lost my anger when I found out she made that deal. I shouldn't be the one to talk to her," Raph refused.

"But you have been her best friend since before y'all could walk, dude. You've never lost your temper with her before and she may need some comfort from her boyfriend. Trust us Raph, you've known her the longest so you're the only one who can help her," Mikey explained, making Raph smile.

"Thanks, little bro," Raph thanked and they fist bumped and hugged.

"Wow, Mikey. That was great advice," April complemented.

"I'm sweet like that, dudes. Now get her down her so I can beat her at Mario Kart," Mikey urged.

"And back to regular Mikey," Raph mumbled, heading up to Y/N's room and knocked on the door.

"Yeah?" Y/N replied, muffled since her head was buried in a pillow.

Raph entered the room, shut the door, then said with a smirk, "Well, you sound happy."

She turned around to face him and responded, "Are you going to yell at me?"

"No. I just wanted to tell you that we understand why you did it. Leo went through the same thing, but it was when the Kraang tried to invade for the first time. He was holding back Kraang Prime to make sure we got out, even though the technodrome we were in was going to blow and he knew he could die," Raph explained.

"Like brother, like sister," she smiled and they chuckled.

There was a pause for a minute until Raph said, "Look, I don't want to yell or fight, even though I'm still a little mad at you. But I have to remember that you're the same girl that helped me write "Fight Song" for Rachel Platten. And everything in that song describes you and I can't judge you for what you've done. You're a fighter and nothing will change that."

"Thanks. You know that song describes you too. That's one of the many things I love about you, which is everything. And part of being in love is going through hard times and getting a little pissed off at each other. It just means that we get through so much and we're willing to fight to keep each other at bay," Y/N responded.

She laid her head on his shoulder and he kissed her temple then laid his head on hers. He held her hand and when they faced each other, they kissed. It was a sweet, gentle kiss that lasted a while. Then they parted and looked in each other's eyes.

"I love you, Hamato Raphael," she whispered.

"I love you too, Y/N L/N," he whispered back.

They kissed again and that's when it got heated. It would've been longer if Mikey didn't bang on the door.

"Y/N! Have you and Raph made up yet?! I want to beat you at Mario Kart!" he exclaimed.

They groaned then laughed.

"Meet me in here after the others go to sleep," she whispered.

He chuckled and they got off the bed. They walked out hand in hand. The others were in the living room.

"Hey guys! I just wanted to say I'm sorry for making that deal with Shredder. I just didn't agree with his other options for me," she apologized.

"It's okay. We've been in that boat before. We won't let anything happen to you either," April said.

They smiled and hugged. Y/N hugged everyone then played video games with Mikey. Everything was back to the way it was supposed to. She loved her family and she would do anything for them. And they would do the same for her in a heartbeat.
