Sonnet 92: Fair Youth
(Faults 3)
Forsooth, I say, should I become a prince
Upon this endless stage of heraldry
And fame, even if I somehow convince
Myself to take the crown in parody,
I wear the tarnished crown of disrepute
Upon this once-respected head of virtue;
And as I lose it, others will confute
Me as a bastard charlatan to hurt you;
Seek not to follow me upon the steps
Of self-willed punishment, yourself despising;
Pray, do not even pay me your respects
In sweet compassion, yourself compromising.
For where I go to quench my shameful state,
Follow me not too far, but only wait.
(To be continued...)
A/N: Here's the 3rd installment of the batch... Hope you enjoy... ( ^_^ )
