Sonnet 110: Fair Youth
(Faults 21)
A world of doom still follows on my feet
Before my clouded heartstrings can recover;
I've played the foolish youth that takes the treat
Of other women yearning for a lover;
I've played the rake and plowed many a garden
Only to yield the barren fruit of shame;
I've played the penitent asking for pardon
Within the eyes of those who have good name;
I've played so many roles, but I have yet
To play the role that only I can play;
I've yet to find myself inside this net
Of circumstance wherein I loaf and stray:
To be a prince requires a sacrifice;
I have to set my terms and pay the price.
(To be continued...)
A/N: Are you getting scared? ( <_< ) Don't worry, this is the last sonnet in this part of the sequence... Anyway, hope you enjoyed this sequence... I'll probably be back with yet another sequence to add when I get to it... Until then, ta-ta for now... ( ^_^ )
