Bats Vs. Winter (Part One?)

-there will be a few parts of this, but it's not planned out, so I'll take requests :)-

Ages:

Damian - 18

Tim - 15

Jason - 11

Dick - 7

Dick sat, his chin resting on his hands, staring out the window. There was a heck of an ice storm outside. There was no school, it was winter break, and even if it wasn't, they wouldn't make it as far as school.

At the moment they weren't even allowed to play outside, it was too cold, and with the snow, you couldn't see eight feet in front of you. Plus, it was already getting dark outside, even though it was barely past three.

"Dami!" He whined, for the millionth time. "I'm bored!"

"I know." His oldest brother sighed. The four of them were all in the primary livingroom, Damian was doing his homework, Tim and Jason were fighting over Call of Duty, and Dick was sitting on a heating vent and staring out his window.

Dick turned around to face them all. "Tim, can I play?"

"No." Tim told him. "You're not old enough for this game."

Dick turned to the remaining brother. "Jay?"

"No Way!" Jason replied. "You suck at video games! Besides, we only have two working controllers."

Dick whined and collapsed against the low window sill. "I'm BORED!"

"Shut up!" Jason told him. "Tim, get your ass to the room!"

"I am in the room!" Tim grunted.

"No you aren't! I'm camping behind the bunk bed."

"Oh you're in the yellow house. I'm camping in the green house!"

"Tim. We NEVER camp in the green house!" Jason told him. "Come on! I'm gonna do a strike and I need you to cover me!"

Damian looked up from his text book. "You're playing split-screen, how can you not find each other?"

"Shut up!" Jason told him through grit teeth, emptying about four magazines into two MPCs. "Come on, Tim! Get over here now or-"

Everything went completely black.

The four brothers let out shouts and screams of surprise. "Whoa! What?" Tim's head whipped around as his eyes adjusted.

"What Happened?" Jason shouted, blinking hard.

"Power went out." Damian grunted. "Probably the storm, but we should ensure we aren't about to be raided.

"What?" Dick asked in a panicked voice. "Dami? What?"

"The storm knocked out the power, I'm going to check the circuit box." The eldest brother said.

"But Bruce says-" Dick protested. "We can't! Too cold!" He explained in his best English.

"I won't get hurt," Damian assured him. "I'm a teenager."

"Hey! Aren't I a teenager too?" Tim asked. "Then what does that make me?"

"A coward." Damian headed from the room, and began putting on his jacket and scarf.

Dick followed, still a little blind in the dark hallways, without many windows to light the floor. "But it's too cold! and you can't see!" Dick pleaded. "Don't go!"

"It's fine." Damian told him. "I'm going to see if I can get the lights back on so we don't have to stay in the dark."

"...okay." Dick conceded. "I wan'a wait." He sat under the nearest window to the door and watched his big brother pull on his winter wear.

"I'll be right back." Damian assured. "Don't touch the door." Dick nodded obediently. His big brother opened the front door and the two were met with a blast of icy air floor was peppered with fat slowflakes, blown in by the whistling wind. Damian struggled and yanked the door shut again, he was already covered in snow. "Richard, I changed my mind, go wait with the others."

"...Okay." Dick sighed and relented, maneuverings back to the Livingroom.

His other two brothers were now bickering on the couch. "You go get it!"

"It's your laptop!" Jason whined, kicking his brother's leg in boredom.

Tim moved his leg further from reach. "You want to use it!"

Jason shifted so he could continue to kick him. "C'mon!"

They looked up as Dick helped himself up onto the sofa with them. "Did he go out?"

Dick nodded. "It's cold." He told them. "I was being moved; the wind was hard!"

Jason looked like he was having an idea, so Tim smacked him in the head. "OW! What was that for?"

Tim buried his hand in Jason's hair and gripped it, giving his brother's head a playful wobble. "Whatever you're thinking, don't."

"Can we play?" Dick asked.

"Well, Tim as about to get his laptop so we could watch a movie." Jason told him.

"Okay, I'll get it," Tim agreed,  letting go of his brother's hair and standing up. "But Dick get's to pick the movie."

"Aw what?" Jason groaned.

"Dick, what do you want to watch? Take a look at the DVDs."

"Why can't we use Netflix?" Jason asked. "Or Prime Video? Bruce pays for it!"

"I was trying on my phone." Tim told him. "Wifi's down."

"WHAT?" Jason groaned. "You mean we have to just sit here together?"

"Uhuh." Tim told him. "I'll go get the laptop while Dick picks what to watch."

Jason watched him leave and turned to Dick. "Dick! Tell him to watch The Naked Gun!"

Dick shook his head. "Zootopia!"

"Spaceballs?" Jason offered. "Airplane? Clueless? "

"No." Dick grinned, he was having some fun.

Jason frowned at him. "C'mon, Please! Let's watch something cool."

"Zootopia." Dick replied. They heard the door open and the wind howl through the manor. There was a grunt and the door slammed shut, muffling the wind again.
"Dami?" Dick called.

"Wait-" There was a minute or so, supposedly as Damian shed his snow-caked outer layer and hung it over the bath tub to thaw. Finally, he appeared, his face was flushed and his hair was soaked and frosty.

"Anyone trying to rob us?" Jason asked.

Damian shook his head, splattering them with water droplets like a wet dog. "Just the storm. I'm going to call father."

"Wait! Come watch Zootopia with us!" Dick told him.

"Maybe." Damian took out his phone and began dialing.

Tim sprinted downstairs with his laptop. "I'm only at half-charge, so it won't last too long. What do you want to watch."

"Nailed it." Jason said.

"NO! Zootopia!" Dick exclaimed, shoving his brother (Which was really like pushing himself backwards).

"Alrighty, let's watch." Tim put the laptop on the table. "Jason, can you go get us some snacks from the pantry?"

"HELL YEAH." Jason sprung up.

Damian turned to Tim. "That was a bad idea."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tim's laptop died halfway through the movie, disappointing Dick immensely.

"Welp, I guess I can give up on the idea of doing my homework..." Tim sighed, closing it.

"Let's play?" Dick asked.

"The only thing I want to play is COD." Jason pouted, listening to the snow thundering on the window pane.

Damian glared at him. "Whatever you're thinking, don't."

"Why does everyone say that? " Jason scoffed. "What do you think I'm going to do?"

"I don't know, and I don't like it." Damian told him.

Jason crossed his arms. "Tim, you should program a patch where all the Enemy MPCs look like Demon."

"No. That sound's like a LOT of work." Tim said. "Why don't you shoot Damian in real life instead?"

"Gladly."

"On that note, did you ever get through to Bruce?" Tim asked, looking down the couch at Damian.

"Not father, not anyone. We have no signal." He said.

"Speaking of signals, what about patrol?"

"No criminals want to be out today." Jason told them. "They'd rather stay in Arkham tonight."

"Can we contact Bruce from the cave?" Tim asked.

"Obviously, but as he's away as Bruce Wayne, he might not be able to reply, even if he get's the messages."

Dick grabbed his brother's arm. "Are Bruce coming home?" He asked with large, worried eyes. "Or Alfie?"

"Eventually." Damian told him. "We aren't sure when, though."

Dick looked down, emotion imprinting on his face. "Oh."

Tim felt bad for Dick, he was still young enough to need Bruce around a lot. He desperately thought of ways to distract his brother. "It's getting dark, how about you help Damian find some candles and flashlights while we get dinner ready?"

Dick nodded. "Okay!" He grabbed Damian's hand for support and let himself be lead out.
