I'm Sorry to Have to Ask This, but...
So, did you know that "no humanoid characters" was one of the rules, and I thought I wrote it down when I didn't? I just sort of played along with it at first... But now I can't add it, because everyone asked for a humanoid character.
Why.
But anyway, since it takes me so long to draw humans, I'm going to have to change the rules a bit in a different way.
These were already going to be quick little things with rough line art and watercolor-y coloring, but I might have to cut out the coloring and shading out entirely for humanoid characters, or just not do them at all.
I know that's sort of not fair, but do keep in mind that these aren't commissions. I'm not asking anyone to pay me anything for drawings what they want, which is what most artists do.
I really do enjoy drawing felines, canines, animals, but humans are just a pain.
I hate myself so much for forgetting that rule. Because now I've gotta draw a bunch of people, which is going to completely kill any festivity XD and I have to do it, because people already requested stuff.
Again, I'm really sorry for being biased against humanoids here, but this was sort of a time-based thing. Animals, even ones I've never drawn before, take me about four hours to do for a full drawing. What I was planning on doing here with animals would take about an hour.
With humans, a full drawing takes me close to twelve hours. What I'm doing here would take me three to four hours, depending on the poses of the characters.
One hour verses four hours is a big difference. If I cut out the coloring and/or shading, four hours would probably drop to about three hours, because the sketch and line art take the longest. Which is still two hours more than an animal would take me.
So I hate to ask this, but... To anyone who has requested humanoid character(s), would you mind terribly if you had to switch your request to something else? You could choose new characters that aren't humanoid, or have me draw the same characters but as cats.
If you have your heart set on the character you chose, then maybe go find an artist who dies commissions. They'll draw whatever you want. But you do have to pay them, of course.
