Monami felt her head throbbing as she managed to gain consciousness. She kept her eyes closed as the events from the previous few hours flashed through her mind as blurry images. Each flash ended with Karan's face, she slowly recalled the last words she'd heard before she had passed out due to the cold.

"Mein tumse bohot, bohot zyada pyaar karta houn, I really really love you Monami"

Recalling that sentence made her heart speed up but she wasn't sure if Karan had actually said it or if she had imagined the entire thing. "But it all seemed so real" she internally said. "but all the dreams have felt soo real as well".

Monami stopped her train of thoughts as she felt a blazing pain in her head, she slowly opened her eyes only to see Karan in front of her, a sense of relief gushed through her seeing him safe. "Ka-Karan" she managed to voice out, her discomfort taking a backseat for the nonce.

Monami tried to sit up, pulling her hand out from Aneesh's hold and completely ignoring him in the moment. Aneesh gritted his teeth as Karan swiftly moved to Monu's side and helped her sit up while Faizi adored the two.

"tum theek ho?" they asked each other in unison, a smile forming on their lips after. Monami nodded as she held Karan's hand and he took a seat on the bed beside her.

Aneesh clenched his fists, all the things he'd planned to keep Karan and Monami away had all ended the opposite way, he'd stupidly given them a chance to spend so much time together and knowing Karan and Monami surely had something in between them, it made him furious and anxious.

Monami: Thank-you Karan, she said as she tightened her hold on his hand, "you kept me warm and safe last night"

Karan put his hand to her face and gently cupped her cheek, "No need to say thanks Monami, you are my responsibility" he paused as he detected a tinge of disappointment form on her face. He recalled the last time he'd offended her with his, "koi bhi hota toh mein usske liye yehi karta".

Karan mentally facepalmed himself, he surely didn't want her to think he hadn't changed since then so he added, "professionally and personally, it's my job to protect you", Monami met his gaze and her lips automatically curved into a beautiful smile. Her heart fluttered at the softness in his voice.

Aneesh was panic-stricken seeing their changed behaviour, "no, no!" his mind yelled, "this cannot happen!" - He cleared his throat to break their trance, "Mo-Monami, tumhe rest ki zaroorat hai, baaki baatein toh baad mein bhi hoti rahegi, Karan-Faizi, tum dono abhi jao Monami needs to take rest...Mein houn yahan isske saath"

Karan internally rolled his eyes at the guy who was currently playing gooseberry, "Mein rukta houn Monami ke paas, tum tension mat lo" Karan plastered a smile on his face as he looked towards Aneesh.

Aneesh couldn't let them have more time together, "NO!" he blurted out, "I mean, umm mein doctor houn na, so it's better if I stay"

Monami had gotten a little sick of constantly hanging out with Aneesh, the dude didn't seem to take the hint! Wherever she went, he did too. Now, she didn't have the patience nor energy to deal with him being annoyingly touchy and constantly bickering. All she wanted was Karan's presence beside her so she politely protested against him.

Monami: Aneesh, aab mujhe doctor ki zaroorat nahi hai, I'm fine and I would like Karan to stay, please- she maintained her polite nature.

Karan smirked mockingly at Aneesh, even though it was childish, his mind declared it to be a victory for him.

Karan: 1 - Aneesh: 0

Also, now that Monami herself had declined his offer he was bound to leave. Aneesh rolled his eyes, faked a smile and left the dispensary trying to shake off the indirect insults and form a new plan against Karan.

Faizi: Chalo! Aab hum bhi chalte hai, kebab mein haddi baane ka shauk toh bilkul nahi hai humein...Khayal rakhna tum dono, kuch chahiye ho toh humein phone kar dijiye ga! he threw both of them a quick thumbs up and left from there as well.

Karan pulled a chair beside Monami and took a seat, he interlocked their hands while Monami's heart started to race again, she thought back to the words that had rung in the head a while back, "had it actually happened?" she wondered.

They needed to discuss it now, before things were ruined again because of miscommunication~ Monami was determined to get her answer while ways to formally propose Monami were running through Karan's head.

Things were significantly going to chance in the next few hours, in a good way though~
