The Girl Who Runs With Dogs
It all started when the Pro Heroes were called to action to take down a bear that has been causing trouble to the general public.
This bear, dubbed Akakabuto or the Red Helmet due to the tuft of scarlet red hair on his head and reaching down his back, had been killing people unprovoked as they enter the woods it inhabits. Many hunters and beasts have tried to take the monstrosity down, but have failed. Only one person have gotten close to taking the bear down, but he died from his wounds and his prized bear hunting dog barely survived. Said bear hunting dog, who went by the name Riki, gathered a great multitude of canines to bring down the menace and avenge his fallen master.
(Riki)
Now, the story usually goes that this dog died in the final attempt to take out Akakabuto leaving his son, Gin, to take up the mantle of being the next leader of the pack.
However, in this story, Riki and his followers came across an old and abandoned shrine with an equally old well inside. One of Riki's generals, Ben, smelled blood, so he decided to check it out with a few of his subordinates as backup.
(Ben)
Upon investigation, they were surprised to see an unconscious white haired human (to them) girl with triangular shaped dog ears atop her head, adorned in a red kimono of some sort. There was also a small silver twin-tailed feline with dark grey stripes in her arms, trying to awake her by licking the girl's cheek. There was also an odd sword strapped to the girl's back. (Refer to the image at the top of the chapter)
(Her cat; picture her looking like Kirara only with this color scheme)
Bringing her out of the well, the girl regained consciousness, thanks to a snow white akita named Akame, who is also a ninja dog of the Iga clan. The male was well versed in the arts of medicine so he was able to help patch her wounds. While doing so, the ninja dog couldn't help but notice the mysterious aura the female gave off, something ancient and practically inhuman.
(Akame)
Upon awakening, the girl was greeted with the various faces of the canines in Ben's platoon. Imagine the dogs' surprise when she began speaking to them in their tongue! It was a sight to behold....
But imagine her surprise when she found out she wasn't even in her time period anymore. She morphed into her full form out of anxiety, surprising everyone with not just the transformation, but also the sheer massive size of her.
Introducing herself as Mora (one of the only things she could remember), it was brought to the army's attention that she doesn't have much recollection of how she ended up in this era. And with that, she had no clue on what to do or where to go. Seeing as they were a pack of sorts, she asked what their intentions were. Explaining the bear problem, Mora had the urge to lend them a hand, or paw in this case, and assist them. Maybe she could find answers to her questions along the way. So she humbly asked the leader of the platoon if she could accompany them in their quest to take down Akakabuto.
Ben accepted this, and along the way, Ben had become a surrogate father of sorts to her. Even his mate, Cross, a beautiful and sleek white Saluki has taken to her like an older sister/mother figure to Mora, that and being the only females in the army.
(Cross)
Mora even got along famously with some of the younger members of the pack, like Gin, who, as mentioned beforehand, is also the son of Riki.
(Gin)
As she traveled with the canines, she received snippets of her past memories, usually in the form of dreams when the pack rests for the night. Sometimes it would be in the form of nightmares, resulting in Mora waking up in a cold sweat and her newfound comrades standing over her in concern as she sometimes lashes out in her sleep. Other times, the visions would be sweeter, like memories of frolicking in the clouds with her father, The Great Dog Demon. Or being pampered by her stoic aristocratic stepbrother, Sesshomaru, who would often bring her kimonos and yukatas of the finest quality along with other expensive trinkets he had "come across" on his journeys with his "assistant" Jaken.
Speaking of, when the dogs found her, she had the vast majority of her favorite kimonos and yukatas, she even found her favorite hakama outfit. So clothing wasn't a problem for her thankfully...
Then there was also her past interactions with the wolf yokai Koga and his tribe. For the most part, they were the best of friends, much to the dismay of her other stepbrother InuYasha, though they do engage in combat, but it was friendly... if you ignore the demolished trees and half-destroyed mountains (Basically it was like Ban and Meliodas from The Seven Deadly Sins when they arm wrestle.... yeah it gets that ridiculous).
During the journey to collect more canine fighters to fight Akakabuto, it was found out that Mora had quite a sharp tongue, something that Cross found amusing whenever the female lashed out at some of the males in the group, effectively scaring them as she bared her fangs at them. Even Sniper, Ben's rival and another one of Riki's generals, was walking a fine line when she had the unfortunate encounter with the Doberman when he had tried to attack Gin.
(Sniper; before the fight against Akakabuto)
It was also found out that Mora had no trouble wielding her sword, which she called Shadowfang. This was proven in her skirmish against the scythe-wielding Kurojaki, the leader of the Koga Clan, a rival ninja gang of Akame's Iga Clan.
(Kurojaki)
She also had no tolerance for anyone who goes against the wishes of both her leaders Riki and her surrogate father Ben, which she made clear when she took on all three of the Kai Brothers, Akatora, Chutora, and Kurotora.
(Akatora)
(Chutora)
(Kurotora)
She also managed to save the former champion fighting dog Benizakura from his own death against one of Akakabuto's minions, Mosa the three legged bear. Benizakura also became her adopted grandfather of sorts to her during the time spent together.
(Benizakura)
(Mosa the three legged bear)
She also earned John, a German shepherd who is also reputably known as the Eastern Tiger, respect as she helped take down another one of Akakabuto's subordinates, Madara the black speckled bear.
(John)
(Madara the black striped bear)
She also won everyone's respect when she stood up to Kisaragi, Hazuki, Minatsuki, and Uzuki, the Four Heavenly Kings of Mutsu when some of Ben's pack fell into a trap made by the four dogs.
(Kisaragi)
(Uzuki)
(Minatsuki)
(Hazuki)
The story begins when the Pro-heroes bear witness to Mora taking down Akakabuto, the "final boss" for the first part of Mora's journey.....
