🌙Ch. 6: In the Dead of Night🌙

The quiet of the night was shattered by the creak of an old floorboard. Lyrius was deep in sleep, his room bathed in the soft light of a bedside lamp. The gentle hum of the night was interrupted by an eerie, shifting shadow that seemed to slither across the room.

Unseen by Lyrius, a ghostly form-a Remori-floated silently through the window. Its presence was marked by an unsettling cold, and it exuded an aura of dark intent. The Remori's crimson eyes glowed faintly as it drifted closer to Lyrius's bed.

The creature's thin, smoky fingers reached out, attempting to grasp at Lyrius's memories. It hovered over him, its malevolent presence pressing down like a suffocating fog. But as its fingers brushed against Lyrius's temples, an unexpected resistance met its advance. The Remori's efforts seemed futile; Lyrius's memories remained intact.

Lyrius stirred, sensing the unnatural chill and the oppressive weight of the Remori's presence. His eyes fluttered open, and he froze, staring at the translucent, nightmarish figure hovering above him. Those red eyes were staring right into his soul. The sight was enough to send shivers down anyone's spine.

Fear seized Lyrius as he struggled to comprehend the apparition. He bolted upright, his heart racing. "W-What is that?" he whispered, his voice trembling.

The Remori hissed, its ghostly form writhing in frustration. It tried again to penetrate Lyrius's mind, but the barrier remained unyielding. Lyrius scrambled out of bed, his mind racing for a way to defend himself.

Desperately, Lyrius grabbed a nearby lamp, swinging it wildly at the Remori. The creature dodged and flickered in and out of visibility, its form distorting with each movement. The battle seemed surreal, a clash of light against shadow.

In the midst of the struggle, Elyriana, clad in her Luminari attire, entered with Vesper at her side, through the window. Elyriana's eyes scanned the room, instantly locking onto the Remori.

"There you are!" Elyriana shouted, her voice cutting through the fear. Her aura flared brightly as she summoned her powers. Vesper followed, his own magic crackling around him as he prepared to assist.

Elyriana's light blazed, pushing the Remori back with an intense radiance. The creature recoiled, its form flickering as it tried to retreat. Elyriana and Vesper moved in tandem, their combined forces driving the Remori toward the window.

The battle was fierce but short-lived. With a final burst of light, Elyriana's magic overwhelmed the Remori, forcing it to retreat into the night. The creature vanished into the darkness, leaving behind only a faint, lingering chill.

Lyrius, still shaken, looked up at Elyriana and Vesper. His breath was ragged, his body trembling from the encounter. "What was that thing? How did you find me?"

Elyriana rushed to his side, her concern evident. "You're safe now. We'll explain everything, but first, we need to get you to a safe place."

Vesper stepped forward, helping Elyriana support Lyrius. Together, they carefully guided him out of the house and into the cool night air. Elyriana's home was a short distance away, and they made their way there quickly.

Inside Elyriana's home, they laid Lyrius down on a comfortable couch. Vesper began to assess his condition, checking for any signs of harm from the Remori's intrusion.

Elyriana moved swiftly, preparing a calming tea and gathering some basic medical supplies. She looked at Lyrius, her expression a mixture of relief and worry. "You're safe here. We'll take care of you."

As Vesper worked, Elyriana sat beside Lyrius, her gaze steady and reassuring. "You saw something you weren't supposed to. We'll explain it all once you're feeling better. For now, just rest."

Lyrius nodded weakly, his mind racing with questions and confusion. He glanced at Elyriana and Vesper, the gravity of the situation sinking in. The reality of the supernatural world he had just encountered was overwhelming.

As Lyrius drifted into a restless sleep, Elyriana and Vesper exchanged a solemn glance. They knew that Lyrius's discovery of their world would change everything.

"How was he able to see the Remori?" Elyriana wondered aloud.

"Should I erase his memories again?" Vesper asked in concern."I don't think he will able to sleep tonight. Those red eyes will haunt him throughout."

"No. The remori was unable to steal his memories. This means that there is something special about him. We need to get the Elder's help on this."

The night's events had added a new layer of complexity to their mission, and Elyriana resolved to handle it with the same determination she brought to her battles against the Remori. For now, though, her priority was to ensure Lyrius's safety and begin the difficult task of revealing the truth.
