🌙 Ch. 1 : A Whisper in the Moonlight🌙
The full moon shone brightly in the small town of Willowdale. People were already fast asleep, dreaming of the sweet memories. Yet some people were staggering along the asphalt roads, their minds lost in their own fantasies, the drug from the evening taking its own time in showing its effects.
Elyriana stared up at the moon, legs folded close together, chin on knees, blue eyes glowing like the bright moon. Her slender leather covered black outfit enhanced her white hair, the signature mark that showed she wasn't a human.
White hair that was passed on to every Luminari to exist, shone bright, just like her pale white skin. Delicate, intricate markings on the arms that shimmer with light, distinguished them from other normal beings.
She yawned, eyes drooping, the soft wind lulling her to sleep, but a distant sound woke her up.
In an instant, Elyriana was up and running over the roofs of the houses in Willowdale. The wind blew her hair backwards, soft white sparkles left behind at her speed.
As she reached the light brown colored house, she jumped into the room through the window, kicking the black shadowy figure, haunched over the bed, sucking and feeding on the cute memories of the little guy sleeping on the superman bed.
Ely swung her sword at the Remori which was now up, and glaring at her with its red eyes, black wings shaking in anger, and a scent of smoke filling the air around them. But its darkness seemed dull in front of the bright light coming from Ely's body which suffocated the Remori.
"I won't let you steal anything from this kid. " Ely said, her voice stern and loud. She swung her sword at the crooked form, making it let out a cry in pain, and disappear, fading into nothingness.
"Were the Remori's always this weak?" She wondered before shaking her sword once, getting rid of the black dust stuck onto her silver sword.
She clapped her hands and stretched, feeling energized after some action after a long boring day.
She turned back towards the bed, only to find a pair of wide brown eyes staring at her.
"Oh, shit. " She cursed at her foolishness, before walking towards the kid, not before placing her sword behind her, back in its sheath.
She smiled at him softly, masking her surprise. Kids usually didn't wake despite all the struggle the Remori's did, to wake them up.
"You are so cool. Are you superman? " He asked, making Ely laugh, the soft sound, ringing in the dark room.
"No, baby. I am just a normal girl. "
"But you fought like superman. " He argued, face puffed up. Ely pinched his cheeks before leaning over him.
"You did not see anything, sweetheart. It was nothing but a superman dream. " She whispered in his ears, before sprinking soft white flakes over his forehead, making him sleep instantly.
As the room returned back to its silence, Elyriana's swift movements and bright presence faded, as she left through the window, ready for her next challenge.

As Lyrius woke, sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow on his face. His eyes were still droopy, but he managed to stagger to the bathroom, and have a shower.
He walked out, wiping his wet black hair with a towel, looking out the window at the sky, filled with dark clouds.
It looked like it would rain any second.
"Lyrius." A soft voice called out from below.
"Coming, Mrs. Blackwood. " He replied, and quickly got dressed in his school uniform which was a black pant with white shirt, and with a coat and a matching black tie. He ruffled his silky hair looking at the mirror.
"Damn, Lyrius. You look smart. " He admired himself cockily, before running down the stairs.
Downstairs, the breakfast table was unusually quiet. His foster parents exchanged uneasy glances before, Ethan Blackwood finally spoke. "Lyrius, we've been meaning to talk to you. Why don't you call us 'Mom' and 'Dad'? It's been a week since you moved in."
Lyrius paused, the weight of their words sinking in. "I'm sorry. I appreciate everything you've done, but it's hard to forget the past. It feels strange to call you 'Mom' and 'Dad' when my own mother left me."
Ava Blackwood's eyes softened as she embraced him. "Even though we didn't raise you from birth, we love you as our own son. We're here for you, always. "
Lyrius hugged her tightly, the warmth of her words melting away some of his pain. "Thank you," he said quietly, his heart swelling with newfound acceptance.
The couple smiled at each other, holding each others hand, their spell had worked perfectly.
And they would hold onto their promise for as long as they possibly could.
