21- Just Maybe 🌙

Moon cycles change every 24 hours, if you pay attention enough you can watch the moon very slowly change phases.
Tonight it didn't, it stayed as the full moon.
Grian assumed this was just because the moon was going to talk with his friends.

"Grian," The moon echoed in his ears.
"Guys, their here, well, they just told me." Grian tapped Mumbos shoulder, who was just talking to Pearl about the other hermits and shops. They looked at Grian, Mumbo with a slight eyebrow raise.
"Are these your friends?" The moon asked politely.
"Yes, this is Mumbo and Pearl," Grian kept switching gazes from the sky to his friends.
"Uh- Grian?" Pearl butted in, Grian looked at her.
"I don't hear anything," She pointed to her ears. He started at her for a moment then looked back at the sky like it would do something. It was silent, Grian shrugged. "I don't know what to tell you, I guess I can just tell you what their saying?"
"I guess that works," Mumbo said with crossed arms.
"So, 'Moon'. What do you mean by 'help us?'" Pearl awkwardly asked.
"I offer gifts and an excuse to anything that may happen. I am angry with your server and turning to me will be rewarding. Of course, something this great requires sacrifice. It will all be worth it."
The moon stated, Grian did his best to copy.
Pearl and Mumbo exchanged glances.
"What sacrifices?" Mumbo questioned.
"Sleep has always been offensive to me, it's skipping my beloved time. Giving up that, and trusting me. The other hermits should be ignored."
"Those are our friends, we can't just.. Shut them out."
"Grian did, it was simple."
Grian recited, however he didn't want to. He looked at the grass.
"What rewards do you promise?"
"I see, well.. You will not be hurt in any natural disasters, you will never be lonely, and you will be special,"
"Special?"
"Only some can be seen by a God."
"So you are a God?"
"Absolutely."
"Prove that Grian isnt making you up."
Pearl and Mumbo glared at the moon, then at Grian. He gulped.
The ground shook, the grass under them slightly cracked. They stumbled around, trying desperately to keep balance.
Then everything stopped.
"There's more where that came from."
From the look on the twos faces, he assumed they could hear them this time.
"Alright," Pearl said, "I'll join you."
Mumbo nodded on agreement.
"We should go before anything else happens. See you later Grian," Pearl waved, and they both disappeared.
"Well done, Grian." Moon congratulated.
"Thanks," He breathed.
"As I promised, you will be my.. Second in command. I assume that those clothes may still make you feel like one of the hermits so I will send you some more formal clothes. Made from the hands of a God, if would be rude to refuse."
"Oh wow," Grian whispered.
The folded outfit appeared on the cracked grass.
"Thank you, I suppose. Though you really didn't have to," Grian looked at the sky.
There was silence.

Grian had tried the clothes on, they were formal like moon said. A black dress shirt and black jeans with a white waistcoat, there was light yellow stars on it. It made him feel fancy, but he decided to leave it off for now.
He sat in the cave just thinking about everything, there wasn't much else to do. He was alone.
"You will never be lonely" Grian couldn't stop thinking about that one line.
He was lonely right now, so was moon lying?
Moon always left him alone.
Alone with his thoughts.
Which was the worst place to be.
There was always something bad happening in his head. He would be reminded of Xisuma, or Voice would show up, or he would think of things he did or people he talked to daily and miss them.
Grian had but cut off from chat communication the moment he was cast away,
Cast away.
"You're a valuable member of this server. You shouldn't be cast away."
Grian heard Pearls voice. He looked around, no one was there. Just his imagination.
Grian scooped up water from stalagmites into his palms and splashed it onto his face.
He stood up, he needed something to clear his mind.
No.
He was over reacting.
Grian realized that he was being attention seeking, he didn't need everyone else. He just wanted them. They weren't a necessity.
He shook his and laughed.
How could he so stupid and just realize this now?
He never needed anyone!
Not moon, not voice, not the boatem crew! He was just to tired to realize right from wrong.
He was surprised he hasn't gotten over everything by now. It happend so long ago. He was still moping, moping over someone he barely cared about anymore. He got what he wanted, Xisuma got what he deserved.

Or maybe, just maybe, Grians thoughts couldn't stop changing. They couldnt tell Grian from Moon.
