13- Selfish 🌙

Grian was walking around the alleyway, he had said that he would leave tonight but he didn't even know what to say. "Hey X, I need it to always be night because if now I will die. I also think I might unconsciously kill the server when I close my eyes," he recited. The last part wasn't necessary but it was a thought Grian genuinely had time to time.
"Hurry" the voices whispered.
"I'm trying." Grian responded rubbing his temples. Grian looked outside; the sun was almost about to set. Should he write something on his hand so he knows what to say?

Grian started putting things away from his inventory as he thought. He was going to have a casual conversation then bring it up. Calmly explain and hope Xisuma will listen. He thought of another possibility. Xisuma was an admin. Could he.. cure him or something? Maybe X could help him to stop melting in the sun! It'd be a lot to ask but X was a very experienced admin, Grian was sure he could do something about it. Grian had asked X in chat for the coordinates for his base. Luckily, he responded very quickly. Grian hadn't been there before so he was quite excited to see it.

The sky had turned the gold colors. Pink and blue. Sky blue pink. A color he had in a dream once. It was quite an odd dream. Like a fever dream.
Grian packed his inventory with healing supplies just in case. Also a long coat with a hood. He didn't know if a hood would help with the sun but he had high hopes. He finally took off, spreading his colorful wings that faded into purplish grays. Flying off into the sunset. He immediately noticed that he was melting, but not severely. He could make it to X's base.

Grian had arrived at the coordinates, it took a few minutes with the help of rockets. The base wasn't super big like he'd expected it to be. It was a small village of big houses with cyan rooves. It reminded him of something his friend Scott would make.
Grian spotted Xisuma on an empty stone with snow on it, so he thought it was supposed to be a mountain. It looked to flat for one though.

"Hey Xisuma!" Grian smiled as he landed in the snow, which was a flat layer. Nothing to deep.
"Hi Grian!" The admin responded, walking over to him. "What's up?"
"I needed to talk to you about something important. Your base looks great though! I like the cyan rooves!" Xisuma chuckled.
"Thanks! I like them too. If I didn't I'd probably change them," he remarked. Grian shared the laugh for a second.
"Whats important?" Xisuma asked. Grian felt like it wasn't casual enough to bring up permanent night. He stood there awkwardly.
"Tell Tell Tell!" The voices chanted.
"Are you alright, mate?" Xisuma asked. "You're sweating." Grian knew that probably wasn't sweat.
"Xisuma, this is something really important, it's really crazy though and you probably won't believe me. I need you to trust me and consider my request," Grian rushed the word out of his mouth. He immediately wanted to turn around and go home but there was no going back now.
"Consider?" The voices scoffed.
"Don't worry, I've seen plenty of crazy things among the seasons. This can't be to bad."
You're going to wish to wish you never added me to hermitcraft. Grian thought in response. He awardly smiled while telling himself so.
"The moon. It's..big..isnt it?" Grian looked at the ground.
Xisuma looked up at the sky.
"Yeah. It's weird. Do you have something to do with it?"
"Mm... Kind of."
"What do you mean?"
Grian took a big breath in.
"I've been hearing-" Grian almost started when the voices cut him off.
"No"
Xisuma looked at him weird for the sudden stop.
"I've been hearing... Animals talking. Actually I shouldnt start there, that happens later, haha.."
"Liar" The voices whispered.
What else do you want me to do? How do I tell him this without mentioning you idiots? Grian aggressively thought.
"One night the moon, like, was weird and I felt compelled to work for it. So I um.. stopped sleeping. I've been going crazy, and I heard animals talk. I've been tired.. I uh. I fell asleep so I... Hurt myself.."
"What?!" Xisuma yelled, "Are you ok?! Grian when did that happen?" He grabbed Grians shoulders.
"A..uh...few weeks ago," Grian mumbled.
"You should have told me then!"
Grian brushed Xisumas hand off his shoulder.
"I'm fine! Let me finish, please. There's a lot more."
Xisuma stood for a moment, then nodded.
"I had a dream about candles."
Grian somehow sensed Voice was angry. This was confusing. How could he sense voice? "When I woke up.. I started to melt in the sun. I'm not sweating, I'm melting. It's weird.."
"W-what?" Xisuma stuttered. "I don't get it, how could the moon do this? I think maybe you gave up sleep for no reason. You need to get some. I think you're hallucinating these things."
"I'm not." Grian responded, a bit heated. His emotions weren't acting with him again, "You don't understand. I need you to activate permanent night. That's the only way I can live. I can't stay inside forever."
Xisuma was shocked and backed up a step. Rocking himself back and forth uncomfortably.
"That's um.. That's a big ask."
Grian glared at him; then immediately changed his face to not seem rude.
"Grian I can't do that! Theres other hermits too! They need light! Mobs will spawn all the time. I can't turn off mob spawns either. We can't get our resources then. You'll have to find an alternative. I'm not sure what I can do but we can figure out something. Together."
Grian was upset for no reason. Why was he so annoyed? X was right in every way. Grian was selfish for asking. Of course though. The voices did not agree.
"No!"
"Kill"
"Wrong!"
"Night!"
"Night!"
"Night!"
"Moon!"
"No!"
"X wrong"
"X no!"
"X not care"
"You die if not!"
Grian could tell out of all of the emotions in his head. Anger was the strongest. Grian thought he knew where it was coming from.
"Sorry, X. I'll leave before it turns day." Grian averted eye contact. He jumped up and took off.
"Grian, wait!" He heard Xisuma call in the distance.

He didn't fly far. Once he knew he was out of sight, he plunged down and landed gracefully.
"I can't believe him," Voice groaned behind Grian.
"He doesn't care at all care about you, does he?" Voice walked up behind Grian to make sure it was heard clearly. To make sure it sunk in.
"He does." Grian tensed. He didn't even believe himself.
"He's the selfish one. If he wasn't, then he would of done it for you."
Grian started to think.
Did he really care? Of course he did. He just.. Didn't believe him.
"Not believing is not caring about what you think. Not believing is having no trust in your word. He doesn't trust you, Grian."
Grian started to get mad at Voice. He turned around to push it, when he did, he definitely touched Voice, but it didn't fall over. Grian did however. He stared at the ground.
"Not trust"
"Not believe"
"Selfish"
"Not care."
"Fine!" Grian screamed. "If he doesn't care about me, then I don't care about him. We're getting rid of the sun. I'll live. Then I'll show him, I could even sacrifice him! I can do that, right?"
Voice grinned. Smiled. Its smile was huge, It started to laugh.
"Absolutely. Let's go, the sun is rising. And put on your cloak; we have things to do."
