Autumn Treasures
As summer sun fades, and weakens,
As days draw in
And nights spread wings,
As creatures feast
In preparation
For hibernation,
As green turns to gold
Small forest creatures hold court,
Before winter sweeps in.
Leaves fall in wooded glen
Then nurture nature
Soon to rise again
And lovers hoard their store of love
To keep them warm
In winter.
