Olivia's POV:

I felt confused. Who is Hero? Didn't know me and Mackenzie had a brother!

Kinsey petted me gently as we waited. Larkin trotted up with Mackenzie and we sat round Kinsey and Jackson. The wise old wolf stared at me and Mackenzie.

"Who is Hero?" I asked him.

"He is your cousin," said Jackson.

"Wait, you are joking, right?" I felt a smile tug on my lips.

"No," said Jackson. "Your auntie and Uncle died at the paws of your parents. Hero went to live with Delilah's sister Bella."

I gasped. So did Mackenzie.

"Was this before they had me?" I guessed.

The wise old wolf nodded. Kinsey looked confused at our barking/short howls. Jackson had shifted back to wolf before talking to the three of us. Larkin sat on his haunches and stared at him in awe. It kind of reminded me when Jackson and Delilah  adopted me at twelve years old. He was so polite to them. I hope they would accept him into the pack. I'm sure they will.

Soon, Delilah came trotting into the den, followed by a brown and white wolf. His eyes were a dark shade of blue. Kinsey looked starstruck by his appearance. I smiled.

"Ah," said Jackson. "Here is Hero."

"You called, Alpha?" Hero bowed his head in respect. "You want me for something?"

"Come with me for a second with that human girl!" Jackson said, pointing a paw at Kinsey.

Hero smiled, showing his teeth.

"Okay," he said.

Jackson nodded towards Kinsey who understood. She walked out the den. The Jackson and Hero followed her. Delilah turned to us.

"Need food, you three?"

"Chicken?" I asked hopefully. "Or rabbit?"

Larkin smirked. Then he nuzzled me. I purred in delight. Then without meaning to, I licked his nose.

"Aww," said Delilah smiling at the two of us. "You two are a cute couple."

I felt my tail swish in excitement. My heart was beating very rapidly. Then I found myself on my back as Larken gently pounced. We rolled round getting tangled up. I caught a blurry sight of Mackenzie giggling and Delilah smiling.

"Come on, you two," she chuckled. "Dinner time."

We got up and shook ourselves off. Then followed her and Mackenzie deeper into the den.

I sat down beside Larkin who looked so excited. It was like he liked being in his wolf form more than his human. I nuzzled him and his tongue licked my muzzle.

"Are you okay?" He asked. "I wasn't too rough?"

I shook my head. "You are fine."

Mackenzie hobbled over and grinned. Her tail was swishing excitedly.

"What's wrong, Kenzie?" I wondered.

"I'm so happy for you," she said. "You both couldn't find anyone better to be with."

I grinned. Mackenzie was right. Larkin smiledd then lay down. He was exhausted.

"I wonder how Kinsey and Hero are getting along," he sighed.

"I bet they are," I reassured him. "Kinsey is a sweet person. And by the sound of it, so is Hero!"

Larkin nodded. But still looked a bit anxious. Poor thing!
