Chapter 11: Helping Larken through it

Olivia's POV:

It was now Larkin's eighteenth birthday. I brought him a nice bowetie with my paw print on it as a mark of our friendship. Or maybe something else?

"Aww," said Larkin hugging me. "You made this for me?"

I nodded. Kinsey smiled at me.

"That is nice of you, Livvy," she said. "How did you get it done?"

"I went to a shop," I said. "Like a print shop. I found a plain Bowtie and took it in. Then they wanted to see me in my wolf to get my pawprint."

"Aww," that's so sweet," said my sister, signing at the same time.

"Thank you," said Larken again.

I noticed his expression. It looked like he was in bad pain. I put my arms round him. He was trembling. Then I noticed a shadow in his eyes that made my wolf in my mind stair back. Larkin didn't turn away from my gaze. He seemed to relax a bit. My wolf was whimpering in my mind.

"Hey," I said to Larkin. "Are you okay?"

"Kind of," said Larkin. "I feel weird."

"Like your wolf is about to take over?" I guessed.

"Yeah," said Larkin. "It hurts a bit."

"It will do," I said.

"Shall we go for a walk?" Asked Kinsey. "Maybe here is not the best place for wolves."

I nodded. "Good idea!"

We started to walk away from Mackenzie's house.

***

Soon, we were walking in the woods where my pack was. I did feel kind of worried walking here. I knew that Jackson and Delilah knew Mackenzie, Kinsey and Larkin. But what if my parents found out?

"Hey, Livvy?" Larkin questioned.

"Aha," I said walking beside him.

"Is this where you live?" Asked Larkin, looking round.

"Kind of?" I nodded. "But a bit further away from this bit."

"Ah," said Kinsey.

She was helping Mackenzie along.

"I remember it," said Mackenzie. "But it doesn't feel threatening anymore."

"Delilah and Jackson took care of that," I said. "Don't worry, Kenzie!"

We smiled at one another. Larkin started to twitch badly. I gently held his shoulders. Then looked at Kinsey.

"What?" She asked me.

"Look at your brother." I said.

I noticed it was getting dark. Then a beam of moonlight streaked into the trees.

"Er ... what's happening?" asked Mackenzie.

Kinsey ran to us. Then she took me off of Larkin.

"Is it time, Olivia?" She questioned.

I noticed that Larkin was changing slowly. I made the girls hide behind the tree. Then looked at Larkin.

"Go to that tree over there," I said.

Larkin did so, hiding behind a bush. Then I ran and joined the other girls. Clothes came towards us and I caught them. They had Larkin's sent on them. I passed them to Kinsey who put them in the bag. Then I promptly changed out my dress and shifted. Soon, I was on all four paws and sitting. Larkin came staggering out of the bush, his body was half wolf and half human still. He stumbled to Kinsey. I stared at him, whimpering. Kinsey was talking to him. But he looked over at me.I couldn't help but let tears flow from my eyes. I loved him. My Larkin! I trotted to him and nuzzled him as the rest of his transformation took place. Wow! He looked so handsome. I felt so lucky!

The next one will be in Larkin's point of view about his shifting experience.

I like your feedback. It helps me to continue this storry.
