Isn't it a tragedy when soulmates are separated by flimsy boundaries that humans create? What does gender matter if it's true love? Why should age, family, wealth, beauty, or sense get in the way if you know that the person is one who want to spend the rest of your days? Or most tragic: what if you couldn't find the person until it's too late? Thankfully, no one in Ava Clemmy's world had that problem.

Once one turned 18, you would stay like that until you found your soulmate. This way, you could live your lives together. The thing was, if you didn't find your soulmate, you would live forever, at least until you found them.

Ava had been alive for centuries. Not even 25 years of age, she'd been alive for so long she couldn't even remember her own name. She went by Ava Clemmy, a name she'd created for herself. Every time she found someone who would make her mortal, she ah, incapacitate them. She lived immortally for years, killing every re-incarnation of her soulmate that appeared on the face of the Earth.

But then a problem arose. Because the next person who she would need to kill was a bit more difficult to reach. Why? Well, he was prized by the nation and had some very powerful friends. Unfortunately for Ava, her soulmate re-incarnated was no other than Captain America.

When an assassination attempt goes wrong, Ava has to face the prospect of living out her life normally. And maybe, she realizes, that isn't so bad.

- You can change the love interest to either Natasha or Clint, but I think it works best as a Steve fic.

- Ava isn't on S.H.I.E.L.D's radar, okay? She's off the grid, no one knows her. 

- MAKE SURE TO HAVE SOME SORT OF PLOT FOR THE REST OF THEM. Ava and Steve aren't the only ones who stay young until they've met their soulmate! If you have other fics, feel free to insert their love interests with them.

- Ava's been alive for centuries. She's seen everything and has a very cynical and... unique perspective of the world.

- Ava tries to kill Steve. It doesn't work. Then she gets on S.H.I.E.L.D's radar. 

- You can change the face claim but I think Kiera works great as Ava because she's got some resources in old fashioned clothes from POTC.
