But the Bigger question is why am I here jabbering when we've got so much action on the way; what kind of action?" Heartland announced.

"Dueling action!" the audience shouted.

"then it's time to turn up the heat ladies and gentlemen may I present you the Magma field!" Heartland announces as a holographic screen with Volcano pops up behind the announcer "And it looks like Quattro and Shark are headed there for a fiery face-off!" he then continued.

Gayu entered the Magma zone which he sees Quattro and Shark in a distance

"I finally caught up with you, you get tired of running?" Shark questioned the remaining Arclight.

"From you? Please, you played right into my hands, I wasn't running away, I was luring you right here to the scorching hot magma field, where you are at an overwhelming disadvantage; you see your deck is full of water monsters and water and fire don't exactly mix" He explains to the purple hair male.

"Good luck, Shark" Gayu muttered to himself.

"Let's duel!" they both shouted.

Quattro: 4000

Shark: 4000

"I'm jumping in and going first! I draw!" Shark shouted while drawing a card, and if you think this magma field's gonna burn me then you got another thing coming, I activate the spell: Plate Salvage! and due to its effect, the field spell that makes this place, so scorching is stopped for two turns" Shark explains while the field spell seems to be covered in ice.

Shark smirks at Quattro's scoff; Yuma and Tori then showed up as Gayu then notices them "hey you two, you're just in time for the action" Gayu tells the duo.

Shark noticed Gayu and Yuma "Gayu, Yuma" he stated.

"Nice of you to join us" Quattro said before winking at Gayu making him smiled nervously hiding his cringe

"I thought this was the magma field" Tori points out looking at the scenery"

"Shark activated a spell card that nullifies the field's effect temporarily, which is why this field went from Magma to Winter Wonderland" Gayu explains to the female before feeling a sharp pain in the head.

Yuma looks worry "Gayu!" he called.

"I sensed Vetrix; is like he's here, but not here" Gayu tells the other two.

"I summon Tripod Fish!" Shark stated as his monster appears in front of the purple hair male.

Tripod Fish: Atk/300

"Now that there's a fish-type monster on my field, I can summon Shark Stickers! So come on out and make a splash!" He adds as a second monster appears on the field.

Shark Sticker: Atk/200

"Shark got a pair of level three monster, and I know what's next" Yuma commented.

"I overlay level three Tripod Fish and Shark Stickers! in order to build the overlay network" Shark tells Quattro.

Both monsters turn into spheres of blue light and flew towards and red and white blackhole.

"I Xyz Summon Submersible Carrier Aero Shark!" Shark said as his Xyz monster ascends from the black hole.

Submersible Carrier Aero Shark: Atk/1900

"I activate it's special ability!" Shark yells "by using one overlay unit, you take four hundred points of damage for every card for every card in my hand!" Shark explains showing off three cards "and I'm holding three cards! So that means you're about to lose twelve hundred life points" he informs Quattro

Quattro: 4000 - 2800

"Well done" Astral praised.

"Shark dealt a big-time blow in his very first turn; Quattro's been shark attacked" Yuma stated.

"Yeah, like you said is only the first turn, let's see what Quattro has to say for himself since is the first turn Aero Shark can't make a direct attack" Gayu points out while Astral nod in agreement.

"I place two cards face down and end my turn" Shark finishes his turn as two faced-down cards materialized in front of Shark.

Gayu looks at Quattro who scoffs while getting up "You think you're hot stuff, summoning a Xyz Monster on your first turn, huh? Well, I was counting on that, Shark; now I draw!" Quattro said before drawing a card from his deck "You see, when you summon your Xyz monster, you put master plan in motion! since I have no monsters on my field and you have a Xyz monster, I can summon my level eight Gimmick Puppet Magnet Doll!"

Gimmick Puppet Magnet Doll: Atk/1000

"And I'll follow that up by summoning Gimmick Puppet Gear Changer!" Quattro added.

Gimmick Puppet Gear Changer: Atk/100

"This little beauty becomes the same level as Magnet Doll! Now do your thing Gear Changer!" Quattro explains as Gimmick Puppet Gear Changes its level from one to eight.

the others were watching with concern for Shark "This isn't looking too good for Shark" Tori said.

"You can say that again" Gayu agrees with the female 'I hope he has something to turn this duel around to his favor' he thought.

"I overlay level eight Gimmick Puppet Magnet Doll and Gimmick Puppet Gear Changer! With these two monsters I build the overlay network and Xyz summon!" he said.

Like Shark's monsters Quattro's turn into sphere of orange and purple light and they flew into a black and yellow, black hole before a pillar of light stroke from the center of it.

"Say hello to Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder!" Quattro shouted as giant size puppet appears on the field.

Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder: Atk/1500

"That's scary" Tori commented intimidated by the number before her.

"Yeah, you said it, that's the monster that put Bronk and Caswell in a world of hurt" Yuma tells the other.

"It did what!?" Gayu asked Yuma out of shock unaware of what he just heard from his friend.

"You're way out of your league and soon you'll be sunk, Shark, and unfortunately for you this is just the beginning" Quattro explains.

'Despite Giant Grinder only having fifteen hundred attack points, I afraid that there's more than meets the eye' Gayu thought.

"I activate, Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder's special ability!" he announces "It instantly destroys your Aero Shark, and you take damage equal to it's attack points" he explains.

The Number creates strings and traps Aero Shark with them and gets pulls towards it; Giant Grinder's chest opens revealing to be a bunch of saws.

"Oh no!" Yuma yells worried.

The monster then pulls a cannon out of its chest and fires a bast at Shark. 

Shark: 4000 - 2100

"Shark, are you okay!?" Yuma asked with concern.

"If he is, he won't be for long because now my Giant Grinder can attack him directly" Quattro says as his monster attends to attack Shark.

"I don't think so, Quattro; I activate, Bubble Bringer! This card negates your monster's direct attack!" Shark explains.

Gayu sighs with relief "that's a close one" he said.

"Shark, you may have stopped my monster, but one thing you can't stop is to climb it, you see Plate Salvage's effect ends this turn, so the temperature is going way up, and the chance of you making a comeback is going way down" Quattro explains as the field returns to normal.

"I don't need a field spell to beat you, let me demonstrate" he said before drawing a new card from his deck he looks at the card for mid-second "I summon, Hammer Shark!" Shark said as his monster ascends from the field.

Hammer Shark: Atk/1700

"And I activate Bubble Bringer's effect! I send this to the graveyard to summon Tripod Fish back!" He explains as Tripod Fish ascends from a dark purple portal.

Tripod Fish: Atk/300

"And since it was special summoned, Tripod Fish gains one level" Shark continues.

Tripod Fish: level/3 → 4

"You fool! Did you forget this field relentless heat makes it near impossible for water attribute monsters to duel? Your monsters stance no chance here, let me show you what I mean!" Quattro explains as the field two dragons made of fire emerges from the lava.

the dragons attended to attack the monsters but was futile when they were blocked by a rainbow colored forcefield.

"What!?" Quattro stated out of disbelief.

"How that happened?" Yuma question.

"Shark activated his second facedown trap card" Gayu explained.

"What's that!?" Quattro questioned.

"It's the trap card, Adapt to Adversity! It's stop spell and trap cards from destroying my water monster, know what that means? My Tripod Fish stays here" Shark explains.

"Wow, Shark's the man" Yuma cheered.

"You can say that again" Gayu agrees

"If you mean that his dueling is unmatched then I concur" Astral said.

Shark glares at Quattro and his monster 'Quattro, today I get to pay you back for all that you've done setting me up, getting me disqualified from the Nationals, putting my sister in the hospital' He thought "I will defeat you Quattro, no matter what's the cost!" Shak said while being outlined by burgundy-ish magenta aura.

Gayu's eyes widen with shock "Oh no" he mutters.

Yuma also noticed "This could get ugly" Yuma agrees.

"Thanks to bubble bringer's effect, when I Xyz summon, Tripod Fish counts as two monsters; so, I overlay two tripod Fish and Hammer Shark" Shark explains

Gayu kneels in pain "Gayu!" Tori and Yuma called.

"Gayu, are you okay?" Yuma asked.

"S-Shark's summoning a number" he tells the others which Yuma and Tori were shocked.

"With these three monsters I build the overlay Network, I Xyz summon, Number 32: Shark Drake!" Shark said.

Shark's monsters turn into sphere of blue light, and they flew into a black and yellow, black hole before a pillar of light stroke from the center of it.

And then a new monster emerges to the field in Shark's aid.

Number 32: Shark Drake: Atk/2800

"Shark summoned out Shark Drake" Quattro stated.

"I've seen that before" Yuma stated.

Gayu was too stunned to even speak.

"That number it belonged to Trey, did Vetrix use Trey to pass the number to Shark, has he been plotting this duel the whole time?" Quattro questioned before a holographic Vetrix appeared behind him.

"Why yes, didn't I mention it?" Vetrix asked as if he forgot.

"Vetrix! Why wasn't I told?" Quattro demanded.

"Telling you would only compromise the security of my plan Quattro, and who knows who you might tell, maybe your newly crush Gayu Tsukino?" he questioned.

"Don't bring him into this!" Quattro yelled.

"Why shouldn't I? Everyone has their role to play; Trey and Quinton, even you my boy" Vetrix explains

"That's so? then what's my role, huh?" Quattro questioned his once father.

"To drive Shark's rage making his anger soar to new heights and the angrier Shark gets, the quicker the number consumes him" Vetrix tells the remaining Arclight.

Realization hit Quattro "Let me get this straight, you just used me to make shark angry, so he'd summon Shark Drake!?" he questioned Vetrix.

"That's about it" Vetrix respond before disappearing from sigh.

"Go! Attack Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder, Shark Drake!" Shark yells as his numbers lands a attack on Quattro's 

Quattro: 2800 - 1500

"I activate Shark Drake's special ability! I use one overlay unit to summon Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder back to your field and lower its attack points by a thousand" Shark explains.

"Why would Shark give Quattro back his monster"

"Well, that's 'cause..." Yuma tried to explain.

"Due to Shark Drake's special ability, Shark can attack Quattro's Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder for a second time" Gayu explains which Astral nod at the blonde's explanation.

"Yeah, what he said" Yuma stated.

Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder: Atk/1500 → 500

"I summon, Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker from my hand!" Quattro interrupted Shark while summoning another monster to his side of the field.

Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker: Atk/800

his new monster cut the strings of Giant grinder before falling back to the portal.

"I can summon this monster by banishing Giant Grinder, sorry your plan was cut short Shark" Quattro unapologetically explains.

"Ooh that was close, Quattro" Quattro hears Vetrix' voice behind him making him turn his head to the reappeared hologram "A most impressive countermeasure; yes, most impressive indeed, but it remains to be seen, if your quick thinking was a fluke or a harbinger of thing to come" Vetrix adds

"Be quiet, Vetrix!" Quattro shouted making Shark and the others looks confused.

Gayu however frowns "Did he said Vetrix?" he hears Yuma questioning, but he doesn't see Vetrix.

"Are you here, Vetrix? don't hide from me" Shark demands.

Vetrix appears before him "Peek-a-boo~" he sang before disappearing again before Shark could even get his hands on him.

Yuma sees Shark's behavior "Gayu's right, Vetrix is here" he said.

"Not quite, it seems Vetrix is using the power of the Crest to speak with us from afar" Gayu said.

"How very astute of you, Gayu Tsukino" Now Gayu hears Vetrix talking to him.

"Vetrix reveal yourself, and tell us your true motive of being involve in this duel" Gayu said before stumbling but keeps his balance

"Well since you asked so nicely, I suppose I'll share my plot with you all and there's no stopping me, now" Vetrix said as he appears before everyone making Yuma and Tori startled at the sudden appearance.

"Now answer my question, what do you want from this duel?" Gayu asked.

"No need to be impatient, mister Tsukino, I intend for the Number Shark Drake to consume Shark, that will make him prone to my influence and I can use him to finish Dr. Faker" Vetrix explains shocking everyone.

Gayu looks angry 'He's a monster, a wolf dressed as sheep, he's willing to give up his own children for revenge, Christopher wasn't kidding about the psychotic Vetrix is'

"Think, again; you're not using me for anything, understand!" Shark tells Vetrix

"Oh, I beg to disagree; I can be quite convincing, you will be my puppet doing exactly as I wish, powerless to defy me" Vetrix said.

"Shark! don't listen to him, he's going to use your-" Gayu tried to talk to shark before suddenly Gayu gets wrapped up by chains and his mouth was gagged by a piece of cloth.

"Gayu!" Shark, Yuma, Tori, and Quattro called worried for the blonde.

'What is this, I can't even move?' he thought.

"Uh-uh-uh~, no spoilers, Gayu, it'll ruin the fun of this duel" Vetrix said.

Quattro looks surprised 'He'd figured out!?' he thought out of shock before looking at the Vetrix in front of him "Why, Vetrix? Why you've chosen, Shark? Why not me?" Quattro questions before getting frustrated "I am the better duelist, please Vetrix, this is a mistake, let me take on Dr. Faker" he plead.

"I'm tired of hearing myself repeating this to you Quattro, each person has their own role to fill in my plans, but to be quite clear you are not the stronger duelist, that honor goes to Shark" Vetrix explains.

"You're wrong! I will never accept that!" Quattro shouts in denial "I will show you who the stronger duelist is! I will prove that you misjudged me by beating in this duel! is my turn, I draw!" Quattro yelled before drawing a new card from the top of his deck "And now, Shark, I activate the dreaded spell card, Gimmick Puppet Ritual from my hand! with this card, I summon a Gimmick Puppet from my graveyard, Now Return Gimmick Puppet Magnet Doll!" Quattro explains as Gimmick Puppet Magnet Doll reappears to the field.

'This can't be good' Gayu thought

"I overlay, Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker, and Gimmick Puppet Magnet Doll!" 

Quattro's monsters turn into spheres of purple light, and they flew into a black and yellow, black hole before a pillar of light stroke from the center of it.

"With these two monsters I build the overlay network and Xyz summon! Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings!" Quattro explains as a new Number monster appears to Quattro's aid.

Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings: Atk/3000

"And If that's got you worried, prepare to be petrified, because now I equip Gimmick Puppet of Strings with the spell, String of Destiny!" Quattro explains as Gimmick Puppet of Strings' sword was replace with another sword "do you know what that means? I send the top card of my deck to the graveyard, if it's a monster I can attack the same number of times as that monster's level" Quattro explains before drawing a card and sees a level eight monster "Your Monster won't be destroyed, no you alone will take all the damage!" Quattro tells Shark shocking everyone "Look at that, I drew Level eight, Gimmick Puppet Dreary Doll" he informs showing off the card before sending it to the graveyard.

"Do the math, it means I can attack your Shark Drake eight times in a row!" Quattro explains with a psychotic expression while Shark groans in annoyance.

'Quattro need to stop this madness, all because of feeling unappreciated or unwanted' he thought before looking down feeling helpless 'but how can I do that when Vetrix put me out of action' he questions himself 'I feel so helpless, Mom...Dad...Help me' he prayed while tears roll down his eyes.

"This is real bad!" Yuma stated.

"Eight consecutive attacks" Astral stated out of shock.

"Now attack Gimmick Puppet, with Celestial slash!" Quattro yelled as his monster begins to launch its first attack

Shark: 2100 - 1900

"Shark!" Yuma called the purple hair male out of worry.

"Due to Sting of Destiny's effect, Shark's monster will remain as he endures all the damage from the consecutive attack" Astral points out.

"Now Gimmick Puppet, attack it again!" Quattro then said as his monster attack for a second time.

Shark: 1900 - 1700

"Don't stop, Gimmick Puppet, keep attacking" Quattro yells as his number goes for a third strike.

Shark: 1700 - 1500

Gayu forces his eyes shut 'I can't stand looking at this anymore' he thought out of fear.

"Quattro, what you're doing is wrong! Dueling has nothing to do with giving in to your anger!" Yuma said making Gayu widen his eyes out of shock.

'He's realizing' Gayu thought before seeing Yuma being tied up by chains like Gayu but ungagged.

Gayu looks back at the duel and sees Shark falling back from the fourth attack.

Shark: 1500 - 1300

"Quattro stop you're hurting him!" Tori plead.

"Cut it out dueling is not about causing pain!" Yuma yelled at the Arclight.

"I can't say I agree, my only concern is that Shark may be getting used to the punishment, in case you're not keeping count, this is my fifth attack!" Quattro said 

Shark: 1300 - 1100

Gayu struggles to break himself out of the chains before sighing defeatedly 'I can't get a talk sense into him, there's nothing I can do' he thought

"Yes there is" he hears a familiar voice and sees a transparent figure of his mother, Neo Queen Serenity

'Mother' Gayu stated out of shock.

"Your father and I heard your prayer, and I'm here to send you a reminder of who you are, Vetrix may have immobilized you, but don't forget that you have the power to break yourself out" Serenity explains.

'Mother...' he said before closing his eyes and his body begins to glow gaining everyone's attention.

Vetrix sees this "Uh oh" he said nervously.

Gayu breaks out of his retrains and he stands in his princely clothing the same clothing that he wore during his and Trey's duel

"G-Gayu" Gayu open his eyes and looks over at Shark and gasped when he sees his life points.

Shark: 500

Gayu goes towards Shark and helps him get back up and gives him a peck on the cheek which resulted with Shark be able to stand on his own. Gayu then turns to Quattro with a sad expression.

'He's sad? Why? Why are you sad, Gayu?' Quattro questions in his mind

Gayu glares at Shark Drake "Stop this, Shark Drake! You may have tempted to take control over Shark, but that's where you and Vetrix are wrong" he stated making both Quattro and Shark look confused "Shark may be a strong duelist but you don't know anything about Shark, no one but himself that he's smarter, stronger, better than revenge; so, no one can't tell him what's best for him because only he knows what's good for him" he stated before turning to Shark "that's what Rio would want, does she?" he said making Shark gasped hearing Gayu saying the name of his sister.

Shark looks shock "Yes... she does...She does!" he shouted "I Draw!" Shark draws a card "I activate the spell, Different dimension Deep-Sea Trench! This card forces me to banish Shark Drake!" he explains surprising Quattro as Gayu smiled.

"He banished it?" Yuma questioned out of disbelief.

"The most impressive maneuver, Shark not only eliminated the number's efforts to merge with him, but by banishing Shark Drake, Quattro's Gimmick Puppet of Strings' special ability does not activate" Astral explains.

"What's your next move, Reginal?" Gayu questioned whispering to himself.

"I place one monster face down in defense mode!" Shark said placing a monster card face down in defense mode "Quattro you're up" he ends his turn.

"Not a bad move Shark, congrats on buying yourself a little more time to stay afloat, but eventually you will be sunk, look at the cold hard facts, first, My Gimmick Puppet of Strings has three thousand attack points; second, it's equipped with Strings of Destiny, and third, your life points are no match for my own; face it there's no way you can win this" Quattro tells Shark.

"You're getting overconfident, Quattro, and that overconfidence will be your downfall" Gayu says in a sad tone.

"He's not wrong about that, Quattro; you see the equip spell String of Destiny is quite the risky card to play, so risky Quattro, that if things don't go the way you planned you could ultimately fall on your face like Yuma!" Vetrix for once agrees before snapping his fingers releasing Yuma from his restrains "If the top card you sent to your graveyard is a monster you can attack the number of times equal to that monster's level, if it isn't you're in trouble" Quattro groans in annoyance hearing this "you see, you've left your ability to strike at Shark entirely up the chance now" Vetrix explains.

"In other words, if the next card you'll send to the graveyard is either a spell or trap card, Gimmick Puppet of Strings won't attack" Gayu then said shocking everyone

"Well, I believe luck is on my side!" Quattro stated at Vetrix.

'He's in denial' Gayu thought shaking his head.

"Leaving your fate to fortune is the pact of a fool, I on the other hand do not prescribe to rely on luck, You cling to your silly feelings and employ none of the strategy your brothers, you're simply raw emotion" Vetrix said.

"You're wrong!" Quattro denies.

"See you prove my point, You should be approaching this duel scientifically, strategically, but I'm not even sure you are capable of doing that" Vetrix tauntingly said.

"You're right Vetrix, Fate and Fortune is something foolish" Both Vetrix and Quattro looks at Gayu "but that's what makes it fun, Dueling is a game of chance, where you can't know the outcome of the game until the very last second, I've learned that from everyone I know ever since I came to Heartland City, I mean who knows what would come across this duel, if you don't put your heart in it; so what's the problem with dueling with your heart?" Gayu explains

"Gayu..." Quattro muttered

"If you can't see that then I don't know what you see" Gayu then finishes. 

"Something I do miss" Gayu and Vetrix looks at Quattro "My father, Byron Arclight; he believed in me and in all my brothers, too, but all he's become is a cold-hearted revenge obsessed child, who just gives my brothers, and I orders instead of love!" Quattro confesses as you can hear the hurt feeling in his tone of voice.

"Quattro..." Gayu mutters.

"But Trey, Quinton and I still obeyed you, I guess it's in memory of the father you used to be, that's why I did everything you've asked to stir Shark's anger" Quattro explains.

That angers Shark more "You're pathetic, know that!?" Shark yells making Quattro turn to Shark "I don't care if Vetrix was calling the shots, You're still paying for everything you did to me, Quattro" Shark said.

"Shark, take it easy" Gayu tries to calm down.

"How can I do that? You should know what he did to me and my sister" Shark responds 

"Reginald" Gayu mutters sad.

"You can try and collect, but you're gonna be walking away empty-handed! And once you've been beat, I'll see that Dr. Faker gets his doom!" Quattro responds to Shark.

"Quattro!" Gayu called.

"And after I defeat Faker, maybe then Vetrix will start believing in me again like before; he just needs to see I can deliver results, hopefully that'll be the first step in getting my real father back" Quattro continued with a hurt tone.

Gayu jumps towards Quattro and hugs the middle Arclight sibling catching everyone even Vetrix by surprise.

"Gayu?" Quattro questioned.

"I-I don't know how much you've suffered, clearly you were hurt emotionally, and you needed help, you just don't know how to ask or scream for help" Gayu said while tears were rolling down his face hugging the taller male "I said this to Quinton and Trey, and I'm going to say it to you; I will bring Byron back, the how is still the question that I still don't have the answer, but what I do know is that I'm willing to find a way to bring you, your brothers and your father together again, that's a promise" he said.

Quattro burst into tears and cries on Gayu's shoulder and falls on his knees while Gayu keeps Quattro's hold.

"It hurts...it hurst so much" Quattro confesses before looking at Shark "Shark, I'm ending my turn, please, finish this duel, I beg you, I don't want to keep dueling like how I'm dueling, I deserve whatever you'll throw at me for after everything I did to you, to Rio, everything, just finish it, Shark!" Quattro plead Shark.

Shark was surprised hearing this before closing his eyes and gets surrounded by purple aura "I... Draw!" Shark shout while drawing a card.

Gayu's eyes widen out of disbelief "Shark!" Gayu called 'No way... he let himself Merge with Shark Drake' he thought.

"And I think I'll begin by flipping over my Deep Sweeper in defense mode and switch it to attack mode" Shark explains as his card flips upward and a monster appears on his side of the field.

Deep Sweeper: Atk/1600

"Now I activate Deep Sweeper's special ability! I can tribute it to destroy a spell card, so I'm getting rid of Deep-sea Trench! Now that the spell is gone, Shark Drake returns to my field!" Shark explains as Shark Drake returns to the field.

Number 32: Shark Drake: Atk/2800

"Shark Drake's back?" Tori question.

"Better than ever" Yuma responded.

"This move could have dire consequences for Shark" Astral stated

"Shark Drake, the time has come, let us unite so we can merge and evolve!" Shark yelled before glowing purple.

"Reginald!" Gayu called before clutching his head in pain feeling Shark Drake's power increasing.

"Go Chaos Xyz evolution!" Shark yelled.

Shark Drake flies towards a yellow and Black hole that appears above everyone present.

"Appear Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss!" Shark appears as a new monster appeared in Shark Drake's place.

Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss: Atk/2800
