The pastry-shop was called Blue Vespa. It was a relatively nice place, and of course noisy and crowded , just as requested. We sat in a table next to the window.
Lisa didn't stop asking questions until we reached the pastry-shop. It was starting to get annoying, but honestly I couldn't blame her. If I was taken by two strangers to a caffé I would ask questions too, like Why the Hades are you taking me there? I thought you were going to take me to an abandoned creepy house, fill it with C4 and then draw a map so the SWAT team could find me. What does a caffé have to do with that?
Every time she asked something, Fenrir answered " Not now, child. When we get to the Blue Vespa, we'll answer all your questions". And every time shed answer "Pardon me sir, but how on earth are the three of us all going to fit in a blue Vespa ?" Gods.
Fenrir ordered a Earl Grey Tea with a slice of lemon, Lisa and I shared a lemonade and a slice of lemon custard pie. Why so many lemons, you may ask. I don't know either. I even asked the owner, but he was kind of deaf and was starting to get mad at me, just because I couldn't stop asking what inspiration this pastry mop had with melons. All I was trying to say was What fixation does this pastry-shop has with lemons?. Go figure.
When the waitress came with our orders, Mr.Hearthstone said "Lisa, you're know free to ask whatever you want and we'll do our best to answer your questions" he sounded like those doctors when they diagnose someone who has a rare disease.
"Thank you sir. What are your names ?"
"I'm Fenrir Hearthstone, and she's Emma Collins "
"Pleased to meet you"
Lisa and Mr. Hearthstone shook hands and then we kissed ( OF COURSE IT WASN'T ME AND MR. HEARTHSTONE. IT WAS ME AND LISA, ON THE CHEEK!!! What were you bastards thinking of?!)
"First, I thought you guys were taking me to a Blue Vespa. Where is it?" Lisa asked
"Well," I said " we took you to the Blue Vespa. This pastry-shop is called Blue Vespa"
"Oh, right" I knew she expected us to take her in an actual blue Vespa, but she was clearly embarrassed by the thought of it." You're not from this town. If you were , I'd know you, so where are you from ?"
"That's a tricky question . I'll tell you from where I am, but in fact I don't know where's Emma from either." He looked at me and I blushed. Hard.
"It's complicated" I said, almost whispering
"That's funny. You know, a girl named Rosemary once told me the exact same thing" he said, looking as if he just spotted a liar.
"You know Rosemary Clarke ?" I was really surprised. Rosemary knew that I'd get inside the book and she didn't tell me anything about it? That was mean, but at the same time, if I knew about it, I'd probably hand it over to her again or just burn it or something else. The point was, if I knew, I'd never read it. And, surprise surprise , I was liking this hole experience.
"Indeed. Are you from wherever she is?"
"Yes"
"Then you must visit Rita the Otter. She took care of Rosemary. She'll know what to do about you. When we arrive to Moryx, I'll take you to her place"
"Moryx?" Lisa and I asked. We said at the exact same time, and we were like "OMGs! We did said the same thing at the same time, didn't we ?"
Mr. Hearthstone smiled "Moryx is where I come from. Quite charming place, actually" He looked at Lisa and his smiled faded "Lisa, I asked Ms. Black and she said you didn't have anybody to take care of you here. I'd like to ask you if you wanted to come to Moryx with us. If you'd like to became my apprentice. Help me with my job"
"I'll come with you, because it's like you said, Mr. Hearthstone, I don't have anything left here, but only if I return here when my mom comes back from France"
"I'll talk to the Summus Sapiens, but I think she'll close her eyes this time"
"Summus Sapiens ? Anyway, what's your job?" Lisa asked, curious
"Summus Sapiens means Great Wise. You could say she's my boss, because my position in my...organization... is Sapiens, Wise, the immediately bellow position. To answer your question, I'm one of the seven world Time-Lords"
I wish I didn't knew about it. If I didn't I could have appreciate that one dramatic moment. Dam spoilers. I'll never read a book synopsis again. Styx.
