Chapter 23
Eliana Adler's POV

Aster was dead. His face was covered with the sheet, Mia his soulmate was broken down, she couldn't even speak. Zachary held my hand tightly and didn't let me go. Raphael was also too stunned to speak. The place was filled with gloomy and painful sensation.

"Zara take care of Mia. Zach and Eliana come with me outside" Raphael ordered us with a raspy voice. He seemed to be equally broken as well, afterall he is the alpha. Me and Zachary followed Raphael outside.

"We have to find Laura before it's too late" said Raphael in a low voice.

"Any plan brother?" Asked Zachary to Raphael who seemed very much worried and tensed.

"Why did she do that? We gave her so much" said Raphael in a disappointed tone with a hint of sadness in it.

"We have to capture her before it's too late, she might try to hurt Eliana again and i won't let that happen" said Zachary with full worried tone. But how can we capture her? She seemed powerful but is she powerful than Alpha? That's the thing we need to find out. My head ache and stomach growl in pain, i was already infected by the virus. But as I am half seer and half wolf, the virus is going to act less faster on me. I can take that as an advantage against Laura.

"Ok, everyone gather" Raphael said to the pack through his mind link. Soon everyone gather around the alpha except Zara and Mia, they remain beside Aster who was fighting to survive. Quickly everyone encircled us. I could see rage and fire in everyone's eyes, they felt like they were betrayed. As everyone already understood Laura's motives and all her dirty works came under the light, it wasn't hidden anymore. Zachary's hold tighten around my wrist in a protective manner. I realised something soon, Laura was acting weird as well! Which means she might also be affected by the virus but it's acting upon her in a different way. Or I could be wrong. Maybe her hunger for revenge and love made her this mad. She wanted something she never even meant to have and now she is suffering for that false hope.

"I say we kill the traiter! She must be behind this virus as well" one of the girl shouted within the pack and many people supported her. I saw a tinge of fear in Raphael's eyes. Is he scared of Laura? No...I think he doesn't want to hurt Laura. I always felt like Raphael had a soft spot for her, maybe he loved her? I know Alphas can love other werewolves even if they are not their mate. Mate could be the destiny but choice is on our hands. As much as I know, Raphael rejected his mate long time ago.

"No we should torture her first, she doesn't deserve to die so peacefully" another pack member shouted with an angry voice and other people joined him as well. Everyone wanted to either kill or torture Laura.

"Silence! We will decide what to do with her later. For now find her and bring her to me alive" Raphael spoke in a harsh and loud way. Everyone became silent and the crowd agreed in association. All of them disintegrated into small groups and started searching the area. I turn towards Zachary who looked angry.

"Did your brother and Laura had a thing for each other?" I asked in a low voice so that only Zachary could hear me. He raised his left eyebrow and stared at me back.

"I don't think so. Yeah my brother cares a little too much for Laura but I don't think they were in a relationship" Zachary replied with confidence. Well I think he is wrong. It was a one sided love, Laura only loved Zachary and Raphael loved Laura. Sounds like a movie disaster.

"Do you suspect something?" Asked Zachary.

"Yeah, I think your brother loves Laura, you should talk to him. I am going to find Laura" I said. He pulled me towards him tightly, not letting me go. I stared at hi, confusedly.

"I am not letting you go alone. She is dangerous!" Zachary had a concerned look on his face.

"No, you need to talk to Raphael, try to get any information you can find on Laura. Maybe he knows her better than you ever did." I said, trying to convince Zachary.

"What about you? If anything happens just mind link me" he said while caressing my cheeks.

"I will, don't worry" I replied with a wink. I pull myself away from his grip and walk away into the deep, dark forest. I need to find Laura alive, I feel like she knows how to destroy the virus. Some of the pack members seemed very angry, they might go against Raphael and try to kill Laura. I have to find her before anyone does. It might be actually easier to find her. She wants to kill me then all I have to do is call her towards me.

I ran towards the centre and closed my eyes. I tried to focus on Laura's energy. A sudden urge of howl initiated in me and I couldn't resist it. The howl echoed in the area. It was a call for Laura and I hope she will come to me. I felt the ground shift, my legs felt wobbly, the earlier punishment drained my energy a lot. I just need to contain Laura until Raphael and Zachary comes here. A sudden blow to my face sent me flying to the hard ground, my mouth felt the taste of mud. I got up quickly and took a fighting stand. To my surprise I couldn't even recognise Laura anymore. The human form was long gone. She was a beast now, her eyes glowed with a tinge of blue hue in it. Canines more sharper than anything and her size was twice the size of an alpha. How is that possible? What is this? A lot of questions rise in me. This is not the time to think. I have to act fast. I have never transformed into my wolf before but I should try this one time. Maybe I can stop all of this. I just need to get Laura's human form back, I need to remind her what's humanity like.

I saw as the beast growl making then ground shake like an earthquake. I jumped towards it and try to blow a punch but terribly failed at it. Come on! My wolf I need you. This is the right time for you to come out. I tried to confront myself. The beast was fast, it quickly grabbed my leg and with force it hit me on the tree branch. I felt blood dripping down my side temple.

I should mind link Zachary. I tried to call Zachary with the mind link but it wasn't working. What is happening? Why can't I contact anyone? I soon realised there was an invisible barrier encircling us. What is it? The beast was the reason for the barrier. It must be disturbing my mind link and that's why maybe nobody heard my howl earlier. So it is smart!

I try to dig my claws into its skin but it felt like I was trying to scratch a bulletproof vest. I am not strong much, this is bad. I can't end it like this. Come on! I closed my eyes and hoped for my wolf to take my place. Maybe once, I just need to believe in myself. As I closed my eyes I felt the beast walking towards with heavy footsteps. I didn't move from my position, I need to stop it. I felt the footsteps getting closer and closer yet nothing happening. Is this the end for me?

Suddenly I felt excruciating pain my body. My claws got bigger, canines more sharper, my body covered in snow white fur. I felt my old skin shedding, as pain took over me I howled looking towards the full moon. My eye colour changed into a bright yellow. I felt more stronger and faster but mostly hungry. I felt like I hadn't eaten for days and an suppressed anger. With full force I grabbed the tree and hit the beast with the branch, it fell over to the ground but quickly got up again. I jumped on it and throw a couple of punches in a row but it didn't stay put, the beast punched me back and i took a step behind me. i wanted to rip its skin out but i resisted the urge. i just need to break the barrier. i grab the beast foot like it did with me before and hit it onto the barrier lot of times, a crack formed giving me some hope in my abilities.

As i got distracted the beast pushed me back and its claws stab my abdomen, i growled in pain. it didnt stop, i tried to push back but i felt weak. No! i cant lose this. I felt tired, lost my hope and the hunger was not their anymore. Its claws cut out my guts from inside and i couldnt move. I saw Zachary's face that float into my mind, i wish i could kiss him once more. As my vision became more blurry I saw a streak of light in the sky. The beast looked scared. I realised the light was coming from me. What is happening? is this a miracle?
