Chapter 1 Rainfall

Suddenly I woke from sleep in my bed. I could feel the chills up and down my spine still. What a terrible dream I thought. I touched my forehead. It was wet with sweat. My hands were clammy. I sat up in my bed and stared at the wall in my bedroom. It was still a bit dark, but the sun was creeping through the window.

Flashes of memory still flashed in my mind from the nightmare. A face I couldn't recognize. Yet I felt I knew him. That young man that I seemed to be in love with. His brown eyes still remained in my mind as I closed mine. Who was he I thought. Soon the dream started to fade. All that remained was that Young Man with tearful eyes.

I got up from my bed and decided to put some new clothes on. I rampaged through my boxes full of my clothes. I picked up a shirt and some skinny jeans. I threw off my night clothes and put on the new ones. I stood in front of my mirror. I had my nice dark purple round neck shirt on with my dark jeans. It fit perfectly. All that was left was my messy long dark brown hair to brush.

I remember the move the other day. The painful ride across the state. Both emotional and physical. No one helped us move in really. Except for a few people. To which we were grateful for. Though now as I look around my half empty room I felt lonely. I didn't know anyone here. Leaving all my friends behind was a challenge in itself. I felt like I had the perfect life back at home. I had everything I thought I could ever have. But now I had to start all over again. I sighed.

I looked through my boxes again to find my hair brush, but it wasn't there. I started to get a bit frustrated. Now where is my hair brush. I always seem to lose it. Then I remembered I put it in my backpack. I giggled a bit. I grabbed my blue backpack and pulled out my hair brush. I brushed out my untidy hair to when it felt soft. Suddenly my mom opened my door. I jumped back frightened.

"Oh you're up already. Breakfast will be done in a few. Don't forget your backpack and binder." My mom told me in a concerned voice.

"Okay. Thanks for scaring me. Again." I replied rolling my eyes.

She left the room in a hurry as the timer on the stove went off. I laughed as she rushed out. I grabbed my backpack and dumped everything out on my bed and put my binder inside. I left my room and walked down the hallway. Both my twin brothers rushed out of their rooms and in front of me.

I stopped abruptly. "Hey! Watch where you're going."

They paid no attention to me and ran off into the dining room instead. My hot anger went away as I saw my little sister Kati walk down next to me with her stuff animal dog and baby blanket wrapped in her arms.

"Good Morning Hanna." Kati smiled up at me.

"Morning my sweet Kat." I rubbed her head and smiled.

I helped Kati down the hallway and into the dining room. Breakfast was on the table. I put Kati in her booster seat and sat down in the chair next to her.

"What took you so long Hanna?" One of my brothers asked me.

"Why were you running so fast Pax?" I glared at him. "Isn't school in the next what...30 minutes? Jack." I asked Jack as I looked down at my watch to check the time.

They both just stared at me for a few moments than glared back at me as they took another bite of their food. I started eating as well as mom came in.

"Now now. No fighting at the table. Its bad manners to fight like that here." She sat down at the table while putting a little plate of food in front of Kati.

After we were done eating my brothers and I went outside to wait for the busses. "Bye mom! Bye Kati!" I called out. My mom blew a kiss to us as we left.

A few other kids our age were standing at the edge of the corner. We headed in their direction. "Is this where Boxer High School bus picks up?" I asked one girl with short brown hair like me.

"Yes it is. It should be coming in a few moments." She replied.

"Thank you" I told her.

"You're most certainly welcome." She smiled.

"You look new. Whats your name?" she asked.

"My name is Hanna. Whats yours?"

"I'm Sarah. It's a pleasure to meet you." She shook my hand.

"This is Chelsea, Mackenzie and Joseph." She showed me the two other girls and the one boy.

Chelsea noticed Sarah introducing her. "Oh hi!" She exclaimed.

She poked Mackenzie and Joseph. They both looked in my direction.

"Hi." Joseph smiled. Mackenzie smiled as well. "Hello." She waved.

I smiled and waved back.

"So how are you on this almost rainy day Miss Hanna?" Sarah asked. I looked up at the sky as a few droplets fell and landed on my face. I shook the water off. Sarah giggled.

"I'm doing well. It's a bit cold out though." I smiled.

"Yes indeed it is a bit chilly. At least you have a jacket on." She put her hand on my arm. I laughed.

"Yes it is good to have at least some warmth." I replied.

Soon the bus arrived at the bus stop. We all hopped on. As I past the bus driver she stopped me. "You're new. Whats your full name?" She got out a small binder with a paper and pen. "Hanna Stevenson." I replied sternly. She wrote my name down. "Thank you. You may sit anywhere you like." I smiled "Okay." I walked down the small ile as my brothers were asked for their name as well.

I looked all around. I started to panic a bit. I didn't know where to sit. I looked over to one side and spotted this one boy with dark tan skin and short black hair. I walked over to him. "May I sit here?" I asked.

He looked at me. His eyes looked very familiar. The same brown eyes as the boy in my dream. It sent a chill down my spine. "Yea sure." He replied scooting over a bit. I sat down next to him.

Soon the bus started to drive down the road to the next stop. He looked back over to me and smiled. "I'm guessing everyone will call you the new girl today." I looked over to him. "Most likely." I smiled.

"My name is James. Though you can call me Jv if you'd like to. What's your name?" he asked.

I blushed a bit. "My name is Hanna."

"Hanna. That's a beautiful name." he replied.

"Thank you." I replied back.

"No problem." He smiled.

As he looked out the window I thought for a moment. What was my dream. Was it real? I couldn't tell. I felt a pinch on my neck as I kept thinking about it. I suddenly felt a little light headed and shook my head.

"Are you okay?" Jv asked me.

"Yes. Just sleepy." I replied.

"Oh okay." He continued to look back outside the bus as it rolled into the bus stop at the school. We all got up and headed out the bus doors.

"So what classes do you have first?" he asked me walking next to me. I took out a folded paper out of my jacket and opened it. "I have English first then history."

"I have those classes too and it looks like we have the same teacher. Follow me. I'll be your escort around the school if you want me to."

I smiled at him once more. "Okay. Thank you. I would like that." He opened the front door of the school for me and led me down the halls. I couldn't help to think how much of a good gentleman he was. I thought it was cute. I giggled a bit. I hoped that it would be a good day at school. I knew it would as long as I could get through one class. I glanced outside the windows of the school. The rain was trickling down the window of the school. Rainfall had hit like a gust of wind.
