Chapter 11

The cats of ThunderClan all trudged silently back to camp, heads and tails drooping. At the head of the group, Sparkstar kept glancing uneasily at the sky, watching the stars twinkling high above them.

Poppyheart was walking next to Lightpaw, with Brokenpaw flanking her other side. She was thinking hard about the prophecy. What could it possibly mean?

When Sparkstar had shared the prophecy with the other Clans, total chaos had raged in the clearing. Cats scattered in all directions, not wanting to believe that their ancestors were really going to disappear. After a while, the most of the cats had finally been able to gather into their separate Clans again, all of them leaving as quickly as they possibly could.

Back in the camp, the sky started to become lighter, the stars slowly fading out. This made the cats who were at the Gathering even more uneasy, with worried looks being casted into the sky here and there.

Lightpaw padded into the apprentices' den, seeing the sleeping forms of Dapplepaw, Dovepaw and Robinpaw curled up in their nests. Robinpaw was snoring quietly, and Dovepaw was twitching in her sleep, as if she was running in her dreams.

Lightpaw carefully stepped between the sleeping shapes of the other apprentices, and circled her nest before curling into it, closing her eyes and letting sleep take her.

Lightpaw found herself in a beautiful, green forest, with a stream trickling beside her. She could hear a cat speaking, though she was too far away to decipher the words.

Another voice spoke, deeper and more gentle. A tom's voice, Lightpaw guessed. She followed the sounds of the two cats, and found them sitting under the hanging branches of a massive oak.

The first voice was possessed by a light brown, wiry she-cat, who held herself in a fierce stance. The other voice belonged to a ginger tom, with massive, white paws.

"But the kits who have the Fires all think that it's the end of StarClan!" The wiry she-cat hissed, her fur starting to bristle.

"I know," replied the tom "But they'll figure it out, one day. I'm sure of it, even if you're not."

"The others are worried," the she-cat mewed "They don't think that the kits can cope without a mentor of some sort."

"Yes, I know," the tom said, surprisingly patient "We can send the other leaders to teach them in their dreams."

The she-cat nodded, her gaze suddenly clearing. It was then that Lightpaw realised that they both had little stars speckling their fur. She could almost see through the two cats.

"It's too bad there isn't one in RiverClan," the she-cat mewed, a twinkle sparking in her eyes "The kit with the Fire would've had the perfect mentor!"

The tom nodded, purring. "Yes, Riverstar would've been awesome!"

Then something clicked in Lightpaw's brain. She knew these two cats, from stories that the elders told. These were two of the original founders of the Clans, Windstar and Thunderstar.

Wow, Lightpaw though, I can't believe that I get to meet them! Lightpaw decided to try to talk to the legendary cats. She pushed through the undergrowth just as Windstar turned and left, leaving Thunderstar alone with Lightpaw.

At the sound of Lightpaw's approach, Thunderstar whirled around, then his eyes lit up with surprise.

"Lightpaw!" he mewed "The cat of the Fires! It is an honour to meet you." He dipped his head in respect for Lightpaw, making her feel uncomfortable. She thought that it would've been the other way around.

She dipped her head to Thunderstar, almost completely overcome with awe. "Thank you, Thunderstar, founder of ThunderClan."

Thunderstar blinked at her warmly, then mewed "No need to do that! You're one of the cats of the Fires! I'm not even half as important as you are!"

Lightpaw looked up at the ginger tom, puzzled. She opened her jaws to ask him what he meant, when he meowed "You're the ThunderClan cat of the prophecy. You will help StarClan and all the living Clans with your powers. As far as I know, I'll be your mentor, and I will visit you in your dreams to teach you of the importance of your powers."

Lightpaw looked at him, eyes wide. She was going to have Thunderstar, the founder of ThunderClan, the son of Skystar, founder of SkyClan, as a mentor! She was the luckiest cat in the entire Forest!

Her wings started the fluff a little with excitement and pride, and Thunderstar watched as he slowly faded, his already translucent pelt becoming more transparent with every passing heartbeat. Soon, he disappeared completely, and Lightpaw was left alone in the lush, green forest.

Lightpaw awoke with a start. It was already past sunrise, but that didn't matter, considering the Gathering from last night. Echoblossom was standing guard at the camp entrance, her back facing towards Lightpaw.

Lightpaw stretched, her muscles loosening from the tension left from her dream. She padded out of the den, feeling the sun, warm and gentle, on her wings. She padded over to Echoblossom, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"Lightpaw!" Echoblossom greeted her "How was the Gathering last night?"

"It was pretty good,"Lightpaw mewed "I met some new cats, and I made a new friend, but it all went a bit downhill when Sparkstar told the other Clans about the prophecy."

"I thought it would." The silver she-cat mewed, her gaze suddenly falling.

Lightpaw brushed her tail-tip along her back, then turned and headed to Duskmoon's den. She wanted to figure out if her dream was just a dream, or if it was real.

From here on out, I'll be posting on Fanfiction.net first, then transferring it onto Wattpad. Sorry again if it takes a while.

Just another thing, I'll be starting an art book (hopefully) in a few weeks. If not, I'm going to start a colour edits book for the Wings of Fire bases, and I'll probably do some requests and adopts on there, too.

I hope you've enjoyed, and if you have any OCs you want to submit, please tell me!

That's all from me!
