Chapter 25

Moon's POV

The fact that there is a new person who has no memory of his past is quite intriguing.

And generally very useless at giving us information.

He said his name was Alex, and he seemed friendly enough.

"Have you seen a girl named Stella?" Rain asked.

"Rain! He lost his memory!" Ember hissed. "So why are you asking him?"

"Doesn't hurt to ask," Rain replied.

"Sorry, but no," Alex apologized. "But if I remember I'll tell you."

Rain looked satisfied to hear that.

"Hey guys! Why is there a bat in here?" Razer asked, pointing up.

This caused Meeps to freak out. "B-B-BAT!" She yelled, before diving behind a chair.

"I got this," I said, as I shot the bat with an arrow.

"Oh, why did it have to be a bat?" Meeps groaned.

"You're afraid of bats?" Ember asked.

"Hey, they creep me out," Meeps said. "They're hard to kill and they get in your face when you're mining for diamonds. Besides, I heard that there was a bat that ended up spreading a disease somewhere."

"Well, sucks to be them," Ember said.

"Ember!" I said.

"I'm sorry I can't be of any use right now," Alex said. "But I'm pretty sure my sudden amnesia was not because of a normal cause."

"Maybe it was the Entity who wiped out your memory?" Razer asked. "It's just a suggestion."

"A good one," Meeps said. "But there's no backup proof other than he's completely evil. But it could be somebody else."

"Like Nebula! She might have a potion that could have done that!" Ember said.

"Nebula's dead," I told him. "Stella killed her to save me."

"Oh," Ember said. "On second thought, maybe it wasn't her. Okay, I have no idea who it might be."

"It doesn't matter now," Alex said. "My memory should return eventually. For now, we have bigger fish to fry."

"Gross! I hate fish!" Ember commented.

"Hey, fish is tasty," SeaWing interjected.

"It's a figure of speech, idiot," Meeps replied.

"For now, we need to rest," Rain said. "The Entity is still out there and we'll need to be at full strength the day he decides to attack."

No more hiding, Moon, no more staying safe. It's time to get serious about this. Maybe I don't know who's behind Alex's amnesia, or if there's a bigger threat than the Entity now. But either way, I'm ready for them... and I'm ready to fight.
