MIDAS LEANED BACK IN THE COMFORTABLE passenger's seat where the window allowed her to observe the universe. She could see clusters of starts littered space, illuminating the darkness surrounding them and the different galaxies looked swirls of color decorating the sky.

She realised that she could have been anywhere now, exploring the universes all by herself and doing what she does beat but somewhere deep down, this place, this ship she was sitting in with a raccoon, a tree, an assassin, an alien with the mindset of seven year old and a guy who called himself Star-lord for some odd reason, was where she was supposed to be.

Plus she was still able to explore different galaxies while getting paid a big sum of money and being with people she really started to care about wasn't that bad of a faith either if she was honest.

"Heads up! We're inbound." Rocket announced loudly from beside her as they approach the planet where Gamora's supposed buyer resideded.

"What is it?" Drax questioned, staring out at the skull like planet where pieces of junk and old space ships were floating around.

"It's called Knowhere. The severed head of an ancient celestial being," Gamora explained, a slight tone of annoyance laced in her voice as she spoke to the man. "Be wary headed in, rodent. There are no regulations whatsoever here." She added, warning in her words, and Rocket took heed to her words, cautiously flying the ship through destroyed eye of the once celestial being.

The group watched on as buildings and machines came into sight, they were all scattered around the place wherever there was any place left. On the surface of the planet, refugees and fugitives moved about their faily buisness, rushing around each other. All in all, the mining colony looked completely choatic.

"Hundreds of years ago, the Tivan Group sent workers in to mine the organic matter within the skull," Gamora continued her story as she gazed outside the window. "Bone, brain tissue, spinal fluid. All rare resources, highly valued in black markets across the galaxy. It's dangerous and illegal work, suitable only for outlaws."

Walking through the streets, bustling with beings and aliens alike the only common ground Midas could spit was the fact that everyone was some kind of outlaw in some kind of way

Peter turned to look behind him where the others were walking, and proudly spoke up. "Well, I come from a planet of outlaws; Billy the Kid, Bonnie and Clyde, John Stamos," Peter recalled with a large grin, making Midas roll her eyes.

"It sounds like a place, which I would like to visit." Drax stated, cheering up at the idea of visiting earth.

"Yeah, you should."

"Excuse me." Midas smiled lightly, altough it didn't reach her eyes as she spotted some of the children approach them with smiles.

"Watch your wallets." Peter whispered a warning among the small group of misfits

"Can you spare any units?" One little girl asked and Midas watched as Groot sprouted a flower in the palm of his hand as the girl with blonde hair watched in amazement.

She smiled as Groot plucked the flower from his hand and give it to the young girl before following after the group.

Midas lingered for a second as she watched the kids, knowing exactly how it felt, fending for your survival every single day.

Walking towards one of the girls that seemed to be taking care of the little ones, Midas tapped the girl on her shoulder. The raven haired teen spun around surprised, pushing one of the little girls behind her protectively.

"Here." Midas held her hand out, showing a small pouch of units. "Take it." She encouraged as the raven haired girl eyed her warily. "Please, take it."

Cautiously, she took the leather pouch from her outstreched hand. "Thank you."

"It's okay, I was like you once. Don't give up alright." She gave them a warm smile. "Just promise you'll take care of one another."

Midas didn't wait for a reply and instead turned around to join the others. Everyone was talking, or more so arguing, but Peter was staring at her quizically.

"Why'd you give them your units?" He whispered once she joined his side. "They probably stole from every single person here already."

"Because I know how hard a life like that can be." Midas gritted her teeth.

"So what? You're the Robin Hood of the galaxy all of a sudden. Stealing units from the rich and giving to the poor?"

"No, I'm just stealing for myself, you understand? You never saw me do nice things like that." She firmly told him, pressing a finger against his chest.

"Alright robin. Not a word from me." Peter grinned mischieviously as she narrowed her eyes.

"Watch it Rocket Man."

Luckily before a real argument could start, the two were interrupted by Rocket.

"Your buyer's in there?" Rocket questioned, as he pointed towards a strange-looking building, which had lights pouring out through the roof.

"We are to wait here for his representative," Gamora confirmed just as they all watched a random man being shoved out of the place while someone yelled, "Get out of here!"

"This is no respectable establishment. What do you expect us to do while we wait?" Drax wondered as they all stood in front of the building and Midas' eyes fell on a bar a couple building away from them.

"I think I have an idea to pass some time." She stated excitedly as the others watched her walk away.

Peter shrugged and was the first to follow after the brunette and pick up his pace to catch up with the woman.

The inside of the bar was loud and full of intoxicated people and it was just how Midas liked it as she watched a game of Orloni's fight with a blue-colored drink in her hand.

She watched amused as both Drax and Rocket got along over something for the first time since their meeting. She should have expected that something as violent as creatures slaughtering each other would bring them closer together. However poor Groot looked like he might faint after witnessing an Orloni get eaten alive.

Midas rubbed her temple as the booming sound in her ear resulted in a small headache as the effect of the alcohol started to wear off and she maneuvered herself swiftly through the cheering crowd and out of the small bar for some semi-fresh air.

Swirling the blue liquid in her glass while leaning her elbows on the metal railing, Midas admired the stars and the beautiful swirls of colors in the sky.

Bringing the cup to her lips, Midas downed the last bit of her sweet tasting beverage when she saw Peter approach her from the corner of her eye.

"You wouldn't believe what they charge for fuel out here." Peter announced his presence as he stopped beside her. "I might actually lose money on the job."

"Gamora's connection is making us wait." She sighed looking at Peter for a moment until she focused her eyes back on the sky

"It's just a negotiation tactic. Trust me, this is my specialty. Where yours is more, act mean to everyone you see and hold a gun to their face. " He joked and Midas couldn't help the small laugh that escaped her lips while a proud smile appeared on Peter's face at the sound of it.

"Well would you look at that, Robin can smile." Peter smiled pointing at her face.

"Stop calling me that." She narrowed her eyes pushing his hand out of her face.

"What?" Peter asked innocently.

"Robin. It is not my name, it's Midas." Peter shrugged

"I like it. Plus you keep calling me Rocket Man."

Midas huffed staring at Peter before her eyes landed on the walkman attached to his jeans.

"Why do you care so much about the walkman? I mean I love some good music too, but I can live without it. It seemed you would go to hell and back for that thing" She questioned and she focused back on his eyes.

Peter's eyes casted downwards to his walkman and the mixtape inside of it and Midas realised it was something she shouldn't have asked. "I-I'm sorry I shouldn't-"

"No it's fine my mother gave it to me. My mom liked sharing all these pop songs with me that she loved growing up. I happened to have it on me, when I was..." He trailed of slightly "The day that she- You know, when I left earth." He told her sadly, stumbling over his words and Midas was surprised he would share such intimate information with her.

"I understand." She smiled light as Peter furrowed his eyebrows confused.

"You were abducted too? "

"No, I wasn't" She denied quickly before shrugging her leather jacket of, holding it out in front of her. "My dad, he was not from earth you know." She laughed lightly. "Never knew the huy and then one day here he comes, with a spaceship and all" She trailed of as she looked at the leather garment fondly. "He wanted to get to know me and I always wanted to go to space so I went with him for a little while. But when I got back, my muk had died, because of a bank robbery."

"I'sorry 'bout your mum." Peter whispered before he gave her a small smile, taking the headphones from his neck and carefully placing them on top of her head.

Midas grinned as the familiar music filled her ears and her smile brighten. Peter had never seen a girl smile so much because of his music and it gave him a warm feeling just to see her so carefree.

"It's been so long since I heard this kind of music." She laughed happily before grabbing Peter's hand, twirling herself around in glee and he slowly reached for her other hand.

Their faces were inches apart when loud shouts erupted from inside the bar, making the two jump apart.

"No" Peter groaned as he watched Midas dash back inside like nothing happend before following after her.
