*Roman has the ability to see one's true essence. He reads souls, much like how a telepath can read minds. The difference is that souls can reveal everything there is to know about a person all at once. Once Roman searches a soul and understands it, he can use it to his advantage, primarily to obtain information and possess them.

With time, he learns to expand his powers and use them accordingly. This includes things like Astral Projecting (by removing his own soul) to attack enemies and even communicate with others through the stars, as a blessing from Asteria.

**All Stellites have the ability of Allspeak, which is the ability to speak any language. This is because all stars are universal, so why shouldn't Stellites be able to speak all of the languages?

WEAKNESS(es) — His soul powers are draining and can be fatal if he isn't careful. His eyes are also quite literally the windows to his soul. While everyone's souls are apparent to him, his soul is apparent to everyone else. His eyes change color with his mood. Though, his soul is difficult to read by those who are unwilling to be open and accepting of him. This is why Riley can read Roman's soul quite easily after getting to know him. This is also why it's important for Roman to be an open-minded person. Otherwise, his power isn't as effective.

PERSONALITY — Roman is very logical and knowledgeable. He usually prefers facts over personal emotions, but as he matures, he values the feelings and opinions of those closest to him. Roman is also very straightforward, blunt, and honest. He despises lying and thinks it's pointless, but that's likely because of his powers. Roman is oftentimes described as a "brooding and moody teenager," and this somewhat continues as he matures. Furthermore, he is aggressive, arrogant, and cocky, as well as confident and self-assured. This is because he knows what he's capable of and isn't afraid of his powers. He's very selfish and self-centered when he first meets the Avengers, but he learans compassion and loyalty through them — mostly Riley O'Dair.

Additionally, Roman is every sarcastic. He's strong, brave, and courageous. He's cunning and resourceful, too. He's loyal and caring, as well as admittedly sensitive and emotional, except he'll never let you know that. He's closed-off most of the time and only opens up to those he deems as worthy. He's the most attached to his best friend, Riley, because of how much they've been through together, and he appreciates how open she was to him when they first met He's constantly afraid of losing her because he considers her to be the only family he has left. He views her as a little sister who he's supposed to guide and grow with. He loves being a little shit to just about everyone though, no matter who they are.

EARLY LIFE — Roman was born thousands of centuries ago when the stars first formed in the celestial skies on a planet called Asteria. He's the first and only child to Orion and Delphinus. He became a member of his planet's Royal Guard from a young age ("Maybe 90 or something like that," Act 3, Ch 10) because of his peculiar powers. Asteria is a small planet created by the Titan goddess, Asteria — the mother of stars. The people who live upon Asteria are called Stellites, otherwise known as star fragments. While Asteria was a planet, it was also considered a star, and it was the biggest one in Roman's galaxy. The Stellites were widely known for having a mysterious glow to them and eyes filled with stars and galaxies. The star symbolism is meant to be a subtle nod to Riley's sun symbolism, showing how close they are and will become.

Stellites all have powers of some sort. Some may be extremely similar, but everyone's powers on Asteria are unique in some way or another. Roman's power is very rare and powerful. His power is Soul Searching. He can see into the souls of everyone and identify their true essences, including their life stories, their identities, and their truest intentions. The time it takes to fully understand one's soul can vary, but once Roman has done so, he's able to possess their souls and control them for as long as he wants to/can endure. His power made him a highly-valued member of Asteria's Royal Guard from a young age, especially when it came to invading opposing kingdoms and planets. This is why Roman grew up to become rather arrogant, cocky, and admittedly selfish/self-assured/self-centered.

He always did what he did to make himself look good for the guard despite hating it and his king. He thought they were selfish and didn't care about the Stellites, a true disgrace to their true ruler, Asteria herself. This is why he became more closed-off and self-centered. He accidentally became everything his king was, and he hated himself for it, but it was the only way to survive. He lived and fought out of spite for the king.

One day, a Titan named Thanos and his army invaded Asteria in search of something called the Power Stone. The king had never heard of such a thing, but Thanos didn't believe him. From there, Thanos went on to murder ever Stellite left except for one — Roman.

Rather than staying back and fighting for his planet, Roman ran away in fear of his life and in a state of hatred for what his home came to be. He was the only one outside of Thanos's army who witnessed the entirety of Asteria crumble, and he never looked back.

He traveled through space for a long time until one day, he crash-landed in a billionaire's fancy tower on a strange planet called Earth. Oh, and that billionaire? That was Tony Stark.

[ RECORDED QUOTES ]

Fear is the only thing that stops us from living truthfully.

Families are overrated. It's not about the people you're born from. Those relationships are always forced. I think the people you surround yourself with, the people you can be yourself with, are the people that matter the most. [...] Sure. Like a village.

But I'm hoping it'll work itself out. I think you showed me that hope isn't a complete waste of time.
