"How can I end it?" I asked the glowing crystal in front of me, the light was extremely bright — blinding me completely, yet my eyes remained plastered to it.

"End what, my child?" A familiar angelic voice asked, her voice nothing but a soft, delicate whisper making my tense muscles relax under her melodic voice.

"The bond — the curse." I stated slowly, not once hesitating to state what I needed to be ended — even though I stood before the force that created it in the first place.

"My dear, why? Why would you end a bond, that has yet to grow?" She asked, her voice sounded shocked but even she knew that this bond was wrong — who didn't? I sighed and shook my head.

"That bond can not grow, since it had already died — matter of fact it never even started. I just need you to end it, or tell me how to. Please, I beg of you. This is my last and only wish, please." I begged sadly, my heart skipping a hopeful beat as I gazed pleadingly at the bright crystal.

"Well my child, I will allow you to break the bond. But, it won't be fully broken, seeing as it is a Moon wish for it to be brought to life — but it will be gone; completely tarnished until one decides to mark the other, and then it shall last forever." She explained sternly, I listened to her angelic words carefully, I could feel a soft breeze fan against my ears and I couldn't help but inhale deeply while nodding my head eagerly.

"The only way to break the bond, is to go back to where your prophecy was given — and then the Nightlight shall give you further information. But, do not do this right away, when the time is right; that is when you should finally put an end to your burden." She explained slowly, I gulped and hesitantly nodded my head, I whispered a breathless thank you before the brightness was consumed by the dark.

MARINA'S POV

"I don't know, she hasn't even moved — to be honest, I don't even think she took a single breath yet either." I whispered to Luke sadly, my voice hoarse and my body completely drained, he gazed at me with worry filled eyes — but he could only focus on the Princess now, and I respect that.

It was a Royal order and he is a Royal warrior, no matter how many other priorities he might have — protecting the people that are important to him come first.

"What do I do? I promised the Diamond family that I would protect her with my life! Look at her now.." he paused to send Celine a quick glance, I inhaled deeply and shrugged, my gaze on the dusty wooden floor.

"I don't know." I raked a shaky hand through my messy hair while letting out a defeated sigh, Luke bit his bottom lip and shook his head worriedly.

"I can't bare knowing that the Princess might lose her life. I can't bare knowing that she was right under my nose and I wasn't taking care of her — when I should've been. It was an order; an order Marina, an order from a family that I owe my whole life to." He said, his voice was dull and hoarse, his eyes drained of any emotion, and his body completely tense, I noticed his orbs shoot to the corner of his eyes just to curiously look at Celine only to look back at mine dreadfully — as if seeing Celine in such a state broke him.

"I understand that Luke, but you need to understand — how could we know? How could we know that-that Celine's very own mate would kill her or at least attempt to?" I asked sadly, my eyes narrowing as they watered and my voice cracking at the end of the sentence — Luke noticed how upset I got once again and frowned in pity.

"I know but; I knew how much hatred Alpha Dustin held towards Princess Celine and I could've made sure he never neared her but instead I-I..." he paused and scratched the back of his neck nervously, his eyes averting to ground while my brows furrowed. Does he regret spending time with me instead? Ouch.

"So you regret the time you spent with me?" I asked slowly, my voice so small and drained, his eyes shot up almost automatically and he frowned deeply.

"I do but at the same time I don't. You are my Mate, my other half and I have a right to be with you. But, not when I have been given strict orders — orders that deal with life and death." He explained carefully, trying to show me that he had trouble expressing himself but I understood clearly, I sent him a sad smile before wrapping my arms around him.

His scent invaded my nostrils and his warmth enveloped around me, I sighed in satisfaction when he wrapped his strong arms around me, my heart leaping out of my chest with every harsh beat.

But no matter how euphoric the moment was, I couldn't help but feel cool tears glide down my cheeks as my wide eyes gazed directly at Celine — who was still completely lifeless.

"Don't cry my beautiful Mate, all will be well as time passes." Luke whispered reassuringly but his words didn't help because my mind was completely filled with doubt.

"How do you know?" I asked softly, my voice barely above a whisper as his hand raked soothingly down my messy locks, he chuckled dryly.

"Because after every evil, something good always comes out." He explained sternly, I took in a deep breath but I didn't respond, even though his words lifted my spirits a bit — the sight of Celine laying on that bed, so motionlessly brings my hopes back down.

"Maybe." I said softly while shaking my head, my eyes slowly shutting as I allowed the feel of Luke massaging my head calm me.

After a minute of complete silence, we pulled apart, our faces inches away from one another and our eyes locked — he opened his mouth to say something but a feminine groan filled the room making our eyes widen completely.

Also, I just want to say that things are going to get really interesting as you read — especially dealing with Dustin and Celine's relationship.

I just hope that you continue to stay for the bumpy and long ride, because as you probably saw last chapter; Dustin gave us a glimpse of his hidden emotions before he decided to go back to being his evil self :(
