fifteen.

"How was it?" Marina asked me, a small smile gracing her lips as I chewed the last bit of chicken from my fork.

I smiled back and nodded, moaning quietly in satisfaction as my stomach rumbled happily, proving my point. She gave me a proud look.

"Now, can we talk?" She asked me nervously, I licked my lips and placed the fork on the empty plate as an uneasy feeling ran inside me.

"About?" I asked while playing with the end of my fork, she sighed and leaned back in her seat, I pursed my lips, waiting for a response, which I already knew.

"My brother and you." She said softly, I stopped playing with the fork and fisted my hand, my heart clenching at the subtle statement.

"There is no your brother and I." I protested harshly, my lips forming a scoff, when in reality, those words broke my heart more, setting the reality of things hurt.

"Okay, so lets talk about you." She restated, I unclenched my hand and then clenched it again, sighing.

"I'm a very complicated topic." I replied in a whisper, she tilted her head and smiled, I smiled back but merely.

"You, complicated?" She asked in shock, leaning closer to the table and setting her forearms over it, I raised my brows and nodded.

"I haven't got much to talk about, I prefer to keep my complications behind me, you know?" I said, her smile fell but she nodded anyway, I smiled happily.

I really didn't want to speak about my past, to anyone.

"So, how about, we talk about my brother instead." She suggested, I bit my bottom lip and hesitantly nodded, she smiled.

"Well, your brother, towards me he is someone that I would never choose as a mate, if I had the choice." I said sadly, my eyes dropping lower so I could stare at the empty plate, I heard Marina sigh.

"I don't want to defend him, but he's gone through a lot in his life. Even since he was born, he's been a complicated child, living a complicated life." She explained in a pity voice, I sighed and shook my head.

"That doesn't justify his behavior, because i've also gone through a lot. I was also a complicated child with a complicated life and am I acting the way he is? No!" I yelled into the palm of my hands, sighing and then shaking my head before pulling away, I brought my attention back to a wide eyed Marina.

"Your brother can't be defended, ever. His wrongs will never make a right and if I could get away from our bond and him, I would jump to the chance right away, but when your moon written you can't." Once I finished my rant, I watched as she gasped loudly and covered her lips with her hand.

"Your m-moon written?" She asked in a confused voice, her brows furrowed, I nodded warily.

"How?" She mumbled under her breath, I chose not to acknowledge her question because I myself didn't know the correct answer to it.

We stayed silent for a second until a female ran into the room and gasped, making us both snap our heads to her.

"Your Dustin's mate?" The red headed girl, with barely any clothing asked in disgust, I sighed but didn't reply.

She examined me from head to toe, I heard Marina growl lowly.

"Yes she is Lexie, why?" Marina asked in her tone of authority, I inwardly smiled.

This Lexie girl growled my way as her cheeks flushed angrily, she couldn't do anything that could hurt me, because she knew that whether or not I am marked, I'm still her luna, who's been moon written to her alpha.

"Wh-how?!" She asked angrily, putting her hands on her hips and stomping her left foot, my stomach churned while I shrugged.

"Get out of here Lexie!" Marina ordered sternly, making me flinch in my seat but quickly compose myself, Lexie gasped and stammered for words, until she groaned in defeat and stomped out of the kitchen. I sighed in relief and leaned back against my seat, bringing my own defeated gaze to Marina's.

"Who is she?" I asked in a sad voice, her lips formed a frown, I hugged my upper body.

"She is Dustin's girlfriend, but better known as 'daily toy'." She explained with hatred lacing her tone, I tried to hate her but I couldn't, in fact I was proud that at least some girl got through him, even though it pained me to hear.

"Oh." I mumbled under my breath while nodding and rubbing my forearms, she sighed and shook her head.

"Well, I'm gonna go to your room." I said before standing up from the seat and pushing it out, she nodded and that's all I needed to walk out of that kitchen.

I hid behind my chocolatey hair and tightly hugged my body as I walked past these groups of people, biting my bottom lip in attempt to keep myself calm.

I finally reached the huge staircase and made my way up, without getting noticed by anyone, I inwardly smiled and slowly continued walking up the wooden stairs clothed with a blood red rug.

I finally reached the top of the staircase and even though something was pulling me to turn around and look at everyone, I brushed it off and walked through the path, that I remembered took me to Marina's room.

Or so I thought.

I walked down to the end of the hall and something intrigued me behind the blood red wooden door, making my breathing hitch as I walked closer to it.

I put my hand over the knob and twisted it, slowly opening the door and revealing, a very strange room.

There were large bookcases everywhere, a couple of sofa's and a huge desk in the middle of the room, I looked around and gasped when I saw a huge picture of Dustin and his family.

I slowly shut the door and inhaled the scent of the room, sighing when Dustin's scent invaded my nostrils.

I cautiously walked towards the huge picture and tilted my head as I examined it, then I reached out my hand and pressed the painting, suddenly the wall pushed back making me retrieve my hand and gasp.

With wide eyes I completely pushed back the wall, and it opened widely, just like a door and revealed a dark room, which looked more like a cell.

I walked inside it warily, a shiver crawling down my spine as my breathing quickened up.

I squinted my eyes and saw a slim figure, leaned against the wall, with chains tied around him, I gasped and pressed a hand to my chest.

I inhaled the scent of the room and coughed, the smell of blood and death invaded my nostrils.

I walked closer to the body, that started stirring making me stop, my eyes widened as I pressed my hands closer to my body.

"P-p-please." He croaked out, his voice cracking and hoarse, while his body shook, he didn't look at me.

"Co-cousin." He said in a whisper before falling back out of conscious, I felt my heart stop and suddenly the wall slammed shut making me scream and spin around, my breath coming out in pants.

"What are you doing here?!" Dustin angrily asked while clenching and unclenching his jaw, but I couldn't answer I was frozen in my spot.

Please....

Cousin....
