eighty three.
"We're here." Dustin muttered, the sound of the car coming to a screeching halt filled the upcoming silence for a second but the sound of my heart speeding up remained.
I nodded my head warily, knowing that nobody saw me and slowly gripped the handle beside me; while taking a deep, reassuring breath.
Everybody else got out and I followed soon after, my shaky legs hit the ground with a thud and it all felt surreal to be back in the place that broke my heart, more then any.
I fisted my hands once the door closed behind me, Marina stood beside me because she was the only one that could sense my anxiety — she comfortingly placed her hand on my shoulder making me send her a grateful look, she just nodded back knowingly.
I sighed as we all walked closer towards the huge pack house, which would make it my first time personally looking at it because I never really got the chance to.
It was beautiful, with a rocky pavement in front of the huge, gray house even though it held a dark aura — if you looked past the fact that it was a part of BloodLine, the area was genuinely pretty.
I licked my dry lips, looking around subtly, and noticing that people started to gather around — all upon feeling the arrival of their Alpha. I gulped.
"Alpha!" They all greeted politely, I cowered back but continued walking, trying to hide between Marina and Luke.
"BloodLine." Dustin replied carelessly, as if these people weren't his equals but below him ... which they were but he was too disrespectful as their Alpha.
The peoples eyes went from Dustin, to Luke to Marina and then to me, and everyone gasped or glared at me in disgust — the sight of me arriving back here while being covered in blood was probably not the best way to present myself.
"Baby!" An annoyingly high pitched voice yelled out making my moves come to a halt, my head snapped up to see where the voice came from and much to my dismay, a beaming Lexie had sprinted all the way towards us, with her gaze plastered on Dustin.
I bit my bottom lip to prevent a sob when she lunged at Dustin and he embraced her. His strong hands were circled around her waist, whereas her legs were around his and her hands were around his neck. I swallowed down my hurt.
"Hello, love." He whispered to her, making my heart ache, he knew what he was doing and I knew, that he knew I knew because of the look he sent me once he kissed her cheek.
Luke was glaring at him, and later sent me a confused look, I just shrugged and shook my head, my eyes averting from Dustin and Lexie reluctantly.
"I missed you so, so much." Lexie whined, her voice made me cringe but I still held some kind of respect for her because she was the only woman that managed to break through Dustin's walls — no matter how much it hurts to admit it.
"Same here." Dustin stated, his voice was husky and laced with some kind of mock that made my eyebrows furrow.
"Alpha Cadman, the Princess, my mate and I will take our leave." Luke suddenly stated making me sigh in relief, Marina had once again placed her hand on my shoulder for more support.
"Princess? What princess?" Lexie asked curiously, I gulped slowly and turned my head to look their way and our gazes locked — she sent me the coldest glare I have ever seen.
"Princess Celine Diamond." Luke bit out and suddenly the whole entire pack bowed their heads in respect, but my gaze wasn't on them; it was on Lexie whose jaw was close to hitting the floor.
"What? Since when, is she a Princess?" Lexie asked in disgust and shock, not once pulling away from Dustin but purposely pushing herself closer into him when she noticed me wince.
"Since birth." Luke all but growled out making my stomach fall, Lexie let out a bark of laughter, I sighed and shook my head angrily, wanting to say something but I couldn't.
"Baby, is this true? I mean look at her, she's covered in blood and something black — while wearing the ugliest excuse of a wedding dress." She stopped to let out another obnoxious laugh making my hands fist tightly — something stirred deep inside of me and I grimaced, trying to hold back my anger.
"It is true, Alpha Cadman does not need to give you an answer, seeing as I already have." Luke stated in annoyance, his hand going through his hair as he glared at her, she flinched but held her ground.
"And you are?" She asked with a tilt of her head, I looked at Dustin subtly and noticed that his dark gaze was already on me, analyzing me with his stormy, blue orbs making me shrink before him — he smirked at the fear he knew he had stricken in me.
"A Diamond Warrior." He explained in a bored tone, Lexies eyes bulged out of their sockets but she quickly composed herself and ran a hand through her red-hair, her gaze trailing from Luke, to me, to Marina and then back to me.
"You don't deserve that title — and just so you know, while you are here, your title doesn't stand." She bit out before jumping off of Dustin, I held back a growl and tightened my fists more — my heart skipped a beat at the feel of my anger growing.
"Oh Lexie, stand down before you get hurt and have some respect for those who hold a higher rank." Marina suddenly said making me snap my head to the left to face her — she had removed her hand from my shoulder and placed it confidently on her hip, while her dark hair flew carelessly with the soft breeze.
"Higher rank?" Lexie spat out teasingly, her brows furrowing while she too placed her hands on her hips — her eyes held a frustrated glare making me sigh inwardly.
"Yes Lexie, do I have to spell it out for you?" Marina asked in annoyance, her head cocking to the side as she sent Lexie a challenging look — Lexie growled angrily.
"Do not disrespect me!" Lexie grit out, with flushed cheeks making me raise my brow — Marina scoffed and took a step closer.
"Or what?" Marina asked in a feral voice which sent a shiver down my spine, Lexie looked taken back before she composed herself and turned to look at Dustin; who just watched us curiously.
"Baby, please help me out here and tell your so called sister to not disrespect your future Luna." Lexie told him making my heart stop, my eyes were wide and I could feel my blood start boiling inside me — I sensed Marina's hand on my shoulder once again but I chose not to allow her reassurance to seep into my body.
Dustin let out a humorless chuckle and I looked at him nervously, I could feel myself wanting to rip Lexies head off her body and both Luke and Dustin noticed.
"Lexie let them leave now." Dustin ordered, his eyes were gazing deeply into my own and I could feel my insides cool down. Lexie huffed out in confusion.
"What?!" She asked making me look her way reluctantly, she was glaring at me making me cower back seeing as she looked about ready to attack.
"You heard me Lexie, and you know I don't like repeating myself." Dustin stated angrily, his words lingered in the air before Lexie growled my way making me lick my dry lips warily.
"This isn't over." She grit out with a scowl before moving towards Dustin, I watched him willingly take her hand and pull her closer to his body — making my heart fall into my stomach.
Then they walked away, and I could help but allow my tear glossed eyes to remain plastered on their intertwined hands, only managing to hurt me more then any of his insults could.
Luke took my hand and Marina took my other one, and slowly they helped my walk away from the scene but they couldn't make me look away — nothing could.
Not even the tears that were trailing down my cheeks slowly making me frown and bite my bottom lip.
