Chapter Eight: Regret
"When I was with you, why couldn't I be nicer to you?
Why are the sweet words lingering in my mouth now?
How many times Ahyeeyah
Do I just regret? Ahyeeyah
Only the flowers are so beautiful" – Wind Flower by MAMAMOO, 2018
Two years later...
It had been two years since Jimin disappeared from Namjoon's home. Taehyung had given birth to two separately healthy pups with Namjoon. Namjoon and he had gotten married and were happily together. Namjoon's company was successful under him and Taehyung opened a bakery building a good life for their two pups.
Although, there was one thing that was missing from the picture... Jimin.
They found his room cleaned and abandoned with a letter sitting on the nightstand. Certain things were left in the house, which reminded the couple every day of the person that used to inhabit the space.
Eventually, they ended up turning that room into the nursery for Taehyung's two pups. One was almost two years old and the other was almost at their first birthday. Sometimes Taehyung would walk past the room and his heart would swell with self-hatred and anger directed at himself. He barely got to see Jimin when they were living in such close quarters, and now he was gone.
That letter was their last time having any sort of communication with Jimin, and it was laced with pain and tears.
After that letter, Jimin seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth. They asked Yoongi to see if he had seen him, he hadn't. They asked other people that he knew outside the club, they haven't. After all of that searching, they finally gave up on looking for him. They concluded that is Jimin didn't want to be found, he would stay lost forever.
Namjoon had overseen the search, but he ultimately found nothing. Jimin was really gone and there was nothing he, Taehyung, or his team could do about his disappearance. Taehyung had tried to call and text him numerous times, but his number was blocked. He had even gone as far as emails and gone to his old apartment, but nothing came out of it.
Namjoon held a heart full of regret. He risked his relationship with Taehyung when he saw Jimin at the club, and after months of being apart, the bond was mended. But both Taehyung and Namjoon had been too used to it being just them in the relationship. They forgot about the last piece of the three-person puzzle and managed to fuck him over time and time again.
Taehyung kept mourning Jimin's disappearance as if he had died when really, he just moved to a different location. Taehyung lost his best friend, and this time was his own fault. Last time it was because of Namjoon cheating on him with his best friend, but this time it was different. This time was because Jimin was being accidentally being blown off and isolated from the love Taehyung just so happened to have such endless, privileged access to.
Sometimes he and Taehyung fought over this matter. They pointed fingers, played the blame game until eventually, an uncomfortable silence suffocated the space. The next morning, they would forget about it like it was never a topic of discussion, only to be back at it mere hours later.
Why were the sweet words and the "What if I had done this?" thoughts coming now? Why didn't they have the same passion and drive before Jimin had vanished? What was wrong with them to the point they just... They let it fail?
The only thing they could do was hope Jimin could forgive them.

For the past two years, Jimin's been in Busan getting his life together... Well, for the most part anyway.
Jimin had still been attending his weekly therapy and alcohol recovery appointments, he had started dancing again, trying to relieve all the stress and dispose of his scattered emotions. No longer was he going to sit and wallow in his self-pity and detriment.
Jimin didn't go to his parents. He thought it was a sign of weakness to go to anyone in his time of weakness. He thought that he should find his own way in another place, away from Namjoon and Taehyung that would give him a little bit of freedom that he so desired.
He didn't get multiple late-night drinks. He was lingering on the verge of 3 years sober and he wasn't about to jeopardize himself over this. He couldn't jeopardize all that hard work that he had done over a broken heart and a simple breakup...
He found himself in a dark place before and that's how he had started having to go to those appointments anyway.
Jimin didn't miss them much after almost a year. He had built something beautiful for himself and he didn't want to ruin it.
He had invested all his money into building a beautiful dance studio that he made sure to upkeep and maintain every day. He slowly began to get customers that chose his studio and he couldn't have felt more grateful. Jimin got people that danced for fun and people that danced who wanted to pursue it in the future. Jimin had missed this feeling, feeling like he was in control. Jimin's new studio hired many dance teachers both male and female to instruct the different dance types he wanted to teach. Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz, it was all there and Jimin couldn't be prouder. Hell, they even had a dance team that would on occasion participate in the local dance competitions in their area. They occasionally won, and proceeds went to making their studio better.
'Serendipity Dance Studio'
Jimin had chosen the word serendipity because of the meaning. It had held a special and close part to his heart after he created it.
'Serendipity (noun) - the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.'
Running this studio made him feel accomplished. He had finally dug himself out of the hole he jumped headfirst into and he was overcome with serendipity. Coming to the studio every day filled him with a feeling of serendipity. Everything having to relate to this company and the people that helped him along the way was serendipitous to him.
He was in no rush to return to Seoul, he was content and happy right where he was.

"WHAT?!"
"Jimin-ssi we-."
"Yeah, I heard what you said but Seoul?! We've only been here for a couple years and we barely even leave Busan! Why of all places to get called out to, we had to get called out to fucking SEOUL of all places!"
If Jimin were to go back to Seoul, he would have a chance of coming face to face with two of his worst nightmares, and when you consider Taehyung had a pup on the way when he left, that would make more than two nightmares to deal with.
Jimin wove his fingers through his hair, brushing it back just a little before letting it fall over his face.
"Jimin-ssi, it's the 48th Annual Seoul Dance Competition and you have an exclusive invitation! Very few dance companies get the chance to do this and yours got selected out of the hundreds of thousands across the country! This should be an honor!"
"It is it just..."
Jimin groaned, running his fingers through his hair, letting the smooth texture calm him just a little bit.
"Let me sleep on it for a little bit... I think I need some time to digest it."
Jimin held the formal envelope in his hands, letting it sit in his hands for a little bit.
"I'll see you later tonight, Jimin-ssi. My little girl has been waiting to come back for her weekly dance classes."
Jimin grinned, "Bye Bye!"
Jimin was on the verge of teaching a pole dancing class along with the ballet, the hip-hop, and the contemporary, but instead, he co-teaches with one of his female teachers with the occasional male that comes to do classes. It seemed a lot less... Perverted as it may be perceived by other people.
Jimin dialed his boyfriend, humming softly as the phone rang.
"Hello?" his voice was crisp as if he had just woken up a mere couple minutes ago.
"Hey, baby... What's going on?" Jimin stepped out of his desk chair with a smile on his face and a hand on his hip.
"Nothing... I just woke up, and you?"
Jimin sighs, "You can't just sleep all the time babe. I know you work the night shift, but I can't ever come home to an awake boyfriend..."
A shift over the line, "Aish, Jimin-ah you worry too much. I'm doing just fine."
"If you say so. Listen, I have an exclusive invite to Seoul's 48th Annual Dance Competition."
"Really? That's fantastic, darling!"
Jimin beamed with a confident pride, "I was wondering if you wanted to see the team and I compete?"
"Of course I would! I would love to see my baby boy in his natural habitat! Don't you know how much this could help your business! Thousands of people from all over South Korea will tune in and they'll get to see you!"
Jimin's grin only increased the more he spoke, "Jisuk, you're making too big of a deal of this..."
"Whatever you say, darling... I just want to see you succeed, baby."
"I'll buy you a ticket to the Seoul show. I promise I won't let you down!"
"Kisses?"
Jimin gave him an over the phone kiss before hanging up.
He decided he should start getting the studio ready for opening. He had at least an hour and he wasn't going to just let it go and waste time!

Jimin ordered at least 13 pizzas for employees and students. He even got some sweets and stuff for the younger ones. There was some water and some juice...
Yeah, he might've gone just a little bit overboard, but he was so proud of the people in his corner and the people that helped this company be a success.
Everyone didn't comment on Jimin's excitement and how bouncy he seemed to be. Jimin seemed to be all over the place with his energy, not knowing what to do with it.
When Jimin told everyone the news everyone was beyond themselves with pride and love for the studio. They were all a beneficial part in making it all work. They helped make Jimin's dream succeed and helped many of the students there achieve things they most likely didn't think they could achieve before.
Jimin was going to be training his team for the next 3 months leading up to the competition, choreographing a new dance to a new song so it'll be nothing the company hasn't seen before.
This was a co-ed team, females and males were going to dance in harmony with a modern ballet dance. He thought that since that was one of the first classes he started offering for his company, it would only make sense to have their introduction to Seoul to be what this company was built off.
Jimin smiled at his team as they went through the rough draft of the choreography for the last time that night. Jimin had been filming the entire class on his phone so he could play it back later when he got home and fix whatever needed to be fixed.
"Alright! I think that's enough for the day! Go home, get some rest, do whatever work you need to do before we get here!"
"Yes, sir!"
Jimin looked at the gleeful faces of his students as they joked around, got drinks of water, and packed up to go wherever they needed to go. He was so proud of this space and he wasn't going to let anyone ruin it for him.
No one was going to get in the way of him and his serendipity.
"When we were together, why couldn't we be more beautiful?
Why am I filling the song for only us with the lyrics about breakup?
It hurts Ahyeeya
Do I just regret? Ahyeeya
Only the flowers are so beautiful" Wind Flower by MAMAMOO, 2018
