Upon hearing the news, Maria hurries to the living room to watch it.

THE TELEVISION SCREEN

The invasion force, a combination of GERMAN SOLDIERS and WARBOTS (fully armed soldier robots, with swastika symbols on their chest, looking like seven-foot versions of Dr. Killro's robot), march in victory in the streets of Moscow.

MALE NEWS REPORTER:     (V.O.)   The Russians suffered massive casualties from Germany's superior rocketry and robotic technology. After three days of fighting, Moscow has surrendered.

BACK TO SCENE

Maria, is stunned by the news, clasping and squeezing her hands together as if to pacify herself.

MARIA:     Our allies are falling. Where do the Nazis get those robots?

EXT. THE WOODS NEAR MARIA'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Dr. Killro's 50-foot robot is standing motionless, concealed by the thicket of trees.

INSIDE THE ROBOT'S HEAD

We hear techno hissing as Dr. Killro looks intently at Maria's house.

A crooked grin slowly emerges from Dr. Killro's face.

MARIA:     (V.O.)   Everything had changed, except the heart of men.

EXT. NEVERTOON/THE MOON - TIMELESS

From afar, Miluna seems to be in a New Moon phase; but her light has actually waned to a medium crescent.

The expanse of the Dark Personality continues to enlarge, consuming the moon itself.
