The Search Begins
The team was now split and they went their separate ways. Team Leo went into the basement, Team Donnie went into the kitchen, Team Raph walked around upstairs, and Team Mikey went up into the attic.

"A least we've got it easy." Casey said. "Usually nothing bad happens to the group on the first floor."
"Well, don't jinx it now." Callie said.
"Yeah, were dead for sure." Gracie said.
"Can you guys focus?" Donnie said, sternly. "We're trying to find an escape."
"Sorry, Donnie." Casey said. "But do we really expect to find an exit in the kitchen?"
"Well, it's important to look around." Donnie said. "You never know where an opportunity might show up."
"I mean, we're down here already." Callie said. "Why don't we focus on getting the front door open?"
"It's locked or something." Casey said. "There's nothing we can-"
"Casey, go try to get the front door working." Donnie said. "We'll remain here and see if we can find a key or something."
"Why me?" Casey complained.
"Cause I don'tike you that much." Donnie said. "Now, go."
"Ugh. . . fine." Casey said, as he headed towards the front door.
"That wasn't very nice." Callie said.
"Well, what else am I supposed to do?" Donnie asked. "I'm doing my best to find something to help us here."
"I'm just saying we all need to work together." Callie said. "We can't just throw someone into a dangerous situation that we know nothing about."
Donnie just sighed. "You're right." He said. "Hey, Casey. Come back!"
Donnie then went to get Casey. But when he got to the front door, Casey wasn't there.
"Casey?" Donnie said. "Where the heck did you go?"

"These bedrooms are filthy." Douxie said, with a disgusted look on his face. "You'd think they'd at least try to keep this old house tidy."
"When no one's living in it?" Raph asked. "Yeah, right. I doubt the city officials could possibly be bothered to clean an old abandoned house."
"It almost makes me sick." Douxie said.
"Careful, bro. Your neat freak is showing." Makayla said with a sly smirk.
"Hey, don't blame me." Douxie said. "There's dust everywhere, okay? I can't help it."
"Poor wizard boy can't leave his maid duties behind, can he?" Raph said with a smirk.
Makayla let out a soft chuckle at the joke Raph made.
"Eh, screw off." Douxie said.
"What are looking for anyway?" Raph asked. "A key? A map? Buried treasure?"
"We need any possible way for us to escape." Makayla said. "The windows are boarded up, so. . . maybe loo for something to break through? Like an axe or something."
"Got it." Raph said, cracking his knuckles. "Let's get out of this place."

"Woah. . . this place has an attic?!" Mikey said in shock, but a hint of amazement. "That's so cool!"
"And creepy." Shane said.
"I wonder if there's anything up here." Elexa said. "Sometimes if a house is left abandoned, we could find some pretty neat stuff."
"We're trying to find a way out." Shane said. "We're not here to collect trophies."
"Well, sure." Elexa said. "But I just thought- Ow!"
Elexa cried out in pain as She suddenly stepped on something sharp. She looked down and lifted up her left foot to see a piece of glass sticking out of her big toe.
"Dang it!" Elexa said, as she pulled out the glass shard. "There's hazards everywhere up here! Be careful."
"Have you ever thought about getting new shoes?" Mikey asked. "It would save you from this type of pain."
"Says the one who doesn't even wear shoes. . . like, ever." Elexa said, rolling her eyes. "Just be careful up here."

"Why did we get the creepy basement?" Mars asked.
"Well, Leo's the leader." Jake said. "And I guess all leaders get the creepiest places to look."
"That's not all true." Leo said.
"Well, we're like the main characters." April said. "So, it makes sense that we get the creepiest place to look around, right?"
"Woah. . . don't let Shane hear you say that." Jake said. "I think he has a bit of a main character complex."
"I'll say." Mars said. "You don't wanna begin to know how he acted before we met you, Jake."
Suddenly, there was a low creaking noise, causing everyone to stay completely still in their tracks.
"Uh. . . those are just the stairs, right?" Mars asked, feeling a bit frightened. "No one's down here with us and making noise. . . right?"
"Don't worry, Mars." April said, calmly. "Everything is fine. It's just the house settling, that's all."
"Yeah. . . what April said." Leo said. "Let's keep moving."
The four of them continued down the stairs and into the depths of the basement. Soon enough, they made it down the steps and we're now in the pitch black basement. (Imagine only being able to see their eyes glowing in the dark, like in cartoons)
"Shoot. . . it's pitch darkness down here." Leo said.
"What do you mean?" Jake asked. "I can see just fine. Oh wait. . . I have night vision? Cool!"
"Sorry babe, but now's not the time." April said. "Is there a light switch anywhere? Or. . . maybe a flashlight?"
"Did no on think to bring one?" Leo said with a sigh.
"Well, we didn't expect to be trapped in a possibly haunted mansion!" Jake said, angrily.
"Hang on. . . I can use my powers to light up the room." Mars said.
"Okay, great." Leo said. "Just be careful not to burn the place down."
"I won't." Mars said.
With that said, Mars held out her hand and a small ball of fire formed in the palm of her hand. "There. Now we can see better." She said with a smile.
"Aaaahhh!"
April's sudden scream caused everyone to jump in fear and look back at her.
"April, what's wrong?" Jake asked, rushing to his girlfriend's side. "Are you hurt?"
"I. . . I saw a shadow." April said, as she breathed heavily. "It moved right over there."
April then pointed to a corner in the basement as Mars held out her hand to where she was pointing. But there was nothing there.
"I swear on my life something moved over there!" April said, trembling in fear.
Jake took hold of April's hand and gently squeezed it. "It's okay, April. . . you're safe from whatever that was." He said, calmly. "I'm right here for you."
Suddenly, Leo's phone began to ring as he was getting a call. He took his phone out and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Leo. . . you need to get back to the front door right now!" Donnie's voice said on the other end.
"Donnie? What's wrong?" Leo asked.
"It's Casey. . ." Donnie said. "He's gone missing!"
"What?!" Leo said in an angered tone. "You were supposed to-"
"Look, lecture me later." Donnie said. "We all need to meet back up right now! This is serious!"
With that, the phone hung up and Leo turned to a serious expression.
"We need to go back up." Leo said. "It's urgent."
"What's wrong?" Mars asked. "Is everything okay up above?"
"It's Casey." Leo said. "He's missing."
