A Spiritual Encounter

Back in the basement, Mars continued to try and break down the door to get out. But he rowers just weren't enough as her flames appeared to die out as soon as she fired the blasts.

"Damn it!" Mars said, angrily. "It's hopeless. We really are trapped."

"Took you long enough." Raph scoffed.

"So, now what?" Makayla asked. "Do we just sit here forever and die of starvation?"

"No, there has to be another way." Leo said. "Keep searching around. Maybe we'll find something."

"It's pitch black down here!" Mars said. "How are we supposed to find anything?"

"Feel along the walls." April said. "Perhaps there's a light switch somewhere."

"How did we not think of that?" Raph said as he facepalmed. "We've got Mikey's brain right now."

"We're in a tight situation." Makayla said. "It's normal to not be there making straight at a time like this."

"Let's search for a light." Leo said.

At that moment, everyone scrambled to find some sort of light switch they could flip to turn on the lights.

Jake just sighed as he simply looked at the walls to find a light switch. 'I guess I won't bring up my night vision again.' He thought to himself. 'Just be a hero, Jake. That's all you need to do.'

"I'm not finding anything." Raph said, until he managed to finally grab on to something. "Oh, I feel something. It's squishy, though."

"Raph. . . that's me." April's voice said, causing Raph to jump back.

"Ah, I'm sorry!" Raph said, stepping back and blushing in embarrassment. "Crap. . . I didn't mean to!"

"There's no light switch anywhere." Mars said. "We're just stuck in the dark forever!"

Jake sighed as he went to a wall and moved a couple of boxes out of the way and flipped a switch. When he did, the whole room lit up.

"Ah, you found a switch!" Makayla said. "Great work, bro!"

"How did you know where one was?" Mars asked.

"I saw one peeking out of this stack of boxes." Jake said. "Night vision, remember?"

"Oh, right." Makayla said.

At that moment, April suddenly shivered again as she felt another chill. But this time, it was more intense.

"Are you okay, April?" Jake asked.

"I. . . I can still sense that we're not alone." April said. "And I think something just brushed against me."

"It wasn't me this time." Raph said.

"Wait, aren't sudden chills a sign of a ghostly presence nearby?" Makayla asked.

"The air conditioning could just be on." Mars said.

"I think me and Raph would feel the drawbacks of the cold." Leo said. "We're cold-blooded, after all."

"Ah man, looks like I've been compromised." A soft voice suddenly said, sounding defeated. "Oh well. I guess I can show myself now."

"What the hell?" Mars said in confusion.

Suddenly a ghostly figure appeared out of thin air, right in front of them. And it appeared to be a young teen girl with messy long hair and was just wearing a nightgown.

"Oh my god. . . it's a ghost!" Mars cried out as she backed up a bit in fear.

"Wait, please don't be scared." The ghost girl said. "I'm not gonna harm you. I'm a good girl."

"What's your name?" Jake asked.

"I'm Marcy Stone." The ghost girl said with a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you all."

"You poor thing. . ." April said, as she walked up to the ghost girl. "You look so young."

"I'm not that young." Marcy said with a scoff. "I'm only 14 years old."

"And here you are. . . stuck in an old abandoned home as a wandering spirit." April said, sadly.

"Oh, yeah. . . this is actually my house." Marcy said. "Or. . . it was, I guess."

"You lived here?" Leo asked.

"Yeah, I grew up in this house." Marcy said with a smile. "Isn't it amazing?"

"Well, it's better than any mansion I've never seen." Makayla said. "I just grew up in a dusty evil lair."

"If it's appropriate to ask. . . what exactly happened to you?" Mars asked. "I mean, you're a spirit in an old house. Something bad had to have happened here."

"Well. . . it's kind of painful to recall." Marcy said. "But long story short, me and my mother got into a car accident and died. My father then went into a blind rage and got himself killed by police officers. We all haunt this house together, since we're all bound here."

"Why's that?" April asked.

"Well, my parents moved in to this house together when they graduated high school." Marcy said. "And that was maybe. . . 16 years ago now."

"I see." Makayla said. "I think I've heard of something like that. It must be common to all spirits."

"Well, where are your parents then?" April asked.

"Oh, um. . . you don't want to meet them." Marcy said. "Especially not my father."

"Why's that?" Leo asked.

"Well. . . they fight a lot in the afterlife, so I don't think you want to be around that." Marcy said. "Also, my father. . . he's not the nice kind of spirit."

. . . . . .

"Ugh. . . isn't there an end to this hallway?" Mikey complained. "My feet are starting to hurt!"

"Relax, Michelangelo." Douxie said, seriously. "I'm sure we'll stumble upon something soon."

"Well, I don't see Casey anywhere." Donnie said. "Or Shane for that matter."

"Where could he have gone in such a short time?" Elexa asked. "I thought we were basically right behind him."

Mikey just sighed. "Well, hopefully he turns up soon. I don't know how much more I can-"

Suddenly, there was silence as Mikey didn't manage to finish his thought. Everyone turned around to see what had him quiet. But when they did, they saw that he was looking down at the floor.

"M-Mikey?" Gracie said, worriedly.

"Snap out of it, Mikey!" Donnie said, angrily. "Now's not the time for your silly pranks."

"Oh, this is no prank, my sad little reptilian friend. . ." Mikey said. Only, it wasn't actually Mikey speaking. It sounded like a whole new voice coming out of his mouth.

"Mikey, what's gotten into you?" Callie asked.

"Guys, I fear that is no longer Michelangelo we're speaking to." Douxie said. "I'm sensing a darker presence within him."

"Well, you're a smart one, ain't ya?" 'Mikey' said. "Your orange masked friend is no longer. . ."

'Mikey' then lifted up his head to reveal that his eyes had now become blank white.

"There is only me. The lead spirit of this mansion. . ." The entity said. "From now on you may address me as. . . Mark Stone!"
