The Story Of The Moon Family
. . . . . .
"Jake, are you alright?" A faint voice asked. "Hello? Jake?"
Jake groaned as he opened his eyes and found him myself lying on the couch.
"What happened?" Jake asked, as he slowly sat up and rubbed his head.
"You fainted." Makayla said. "After Taylor said that you were-"
"The lost prince of the Moon Clan." Jake said. "Yeah. . . I got it."
"That's insane!" Makayla said in amazement. "I had no idea you were royalty!"
"Not just royalty." Night Shade's voice suddenly said. "But a very important piece of our history."
'Not now, Night Shade.' Jake said to him through his mind. 'What could you possibly know anyway?'
"Don't be so dismissive." Night Shade said. "I'll let the pretty girl explain for now. But there may be some stuff she leaves out or may not know. Just keep that in mind."
Jake just sighed as he ignored Night Shade's voice.
"Wait. . . how do you even know about this?" Makayla asked. "I know you claim to be Jake's childhood friend, but how could you know this type of stuff?"
"I have my ways." Taylor said.
"Okay, that's suspicious." Jake said.
"Look, all you have to know is that you're an important figure in your family." Taylor said. "And I've been given the job to make sure you understand everything before we return."
"But. . . I don't." Jake said. "What do you mean that I'm royalty? I don't recall learning that in my flashback dreams."
"Well, your lineage dates all the way back to the dawn of vampires." Taylor said. "But I'll keep it short and tell it from the 19th century, when it really matters."
"The 19th century?!" Makayla said in shock. "You have info from that time period?"
"I got it from someone." Taylor said.
"That awfully suspicious that someone just happens to know things from that time." Jake said. "But go on."
"It all began two centuries ago. . ." Taylor said, beginning her story.
------------
Back when the land was in the midst of war, young vampire king, Count Blaz, was fighting off against the evil dark sorcerers. It was a heated fight between the two races of magical beings. But Count Blaz wouldn't give up as he fought valiantly. Unfortunately, it was too much for him. But with aid from his wife, the dark sorcerers were driven back into the darkness for the next century. Thankfully, in time for their son, The Vampire Prince, Vladimir Moon, to be born.
-------------
"Vladimir Moon?" Jake said. "That name sounds familiar. . . oh yeah, cause I saw him in my dream. He married a human woman and then I came into the world. They're my birth parents. I already put two and two together."
"Yes, but that's not where this story is gonna go." Taylor said. "A lot happened to the young prince and his brother during the time he was just a flourishing prince."
"Brother?" Jake said in shock when he heard that. "There was no mention of a brother in my dreams."
"That's because his family screwed him over and exterminated him." Night Shade said.
'How do you know?' Jake asked.
"Cause that's me." Night Shade said. "I'm your father's brother. Meaning that I'm-"
'*You* are Vlad's brother?!' Jake said in surprise. 'Then that makes you. . . my uncle?'
"I'm afraid so." Night Shade said.
'Damn. . . such a reveal should've been saved for later.' Jake said.
"Well, if they want to know the full story, they can go over to DeviantArt." Night Shade said. "Our story is expanded upon there."
'What are you talking about?' Jake asked.
Suddenly, Taylor cleared her throat, which brought Jake back to focus.
"Is everything okay, Jake?" Taylor asked.
"Yeah, I'm good." Jake said.
"Good." Taylor said, with a frustrated sigh. "That means I won't have to flash you."
"Wait, what?" Jake asked, taken aback by that comment.
"Anyway, as I was saying. . ." Taylor continued on with the story.
---------------
The young prince wasn't like any other royalty. But he trained hard to become a respectable king and even fought of the dark sorcerers for good, driving the even further back. And they haven't been heard from since. But ever since his death, The Dark Lord knew he wouldn't have to hide for much longer. So he vows to not only eliminate every last survivor of the world, but especially the new vampire prince.
--------------
"That's you, Jake." Taylor said. "You were born. . . to finally put an end to The Dark Lord once and for all."
"The Dark Lord. . ." Makayla said, sounding like she was really in to to story.
"I heard he goes by an official name now, too." Taylor said.
"Oblivion. . ." Jake said, coldly. "He's responsible for the death of my ancestors."
"Wait. . . didn't the Dark Sorcerers die out?" Makayla asked. "I remember reading up on them a while back. But it said they all died."
"Oh, they did." Taylor said. "Thanks to Vladimir."
"Then, what makes Oblivion want to come back without an army?" Makayla asked. "He'd be cooked."
"Well, I wouldn't get too confident." Taylor said. "All I know is that he's planning another war. One that he thinks he can win. One that he probably will win."
"Hey, don't go doubting me now!" Jake said. "You came all this way to tell me this story. I'm gonna put an end to that bastard if it's the last thing I do!"
"Are you sure you want to do that?" Taylor asked. "It won't be easy."
"I don't expect it to be." Jake said with a serious tone. "But if my father and grandfather suffered because of him. . . then I'll fulfill my destiny and put a final stop to him! This face. . . Will be the last one he sees, before I pummel his stupid face into the concrete!"
"You're really into this already." Taylor said. "And you haven't even met the guy yet."
"I don't need to meet him to know that he needs to be taken down." Jake said. "And if I have to be the one to do it, then I will. I've made up my mind."
"Bro. . ." Makayla said.
"I wasn't sure before, but now I am." Jake said. "I'll avenge my people!"
"You know humans were the ones that killed your father, right?" Taylor asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I'm still in their side." Jake said. "After all. . . my best friends are human. And my girlfriend is also human."
"Shoot. . . you have a girlfriend?" Taylor asked
"Um. . . yeah." Jake said. "Guess I should've mentioned that before you got naked."
"Yeah, no crap!" Taylor said, a bit angrily as she covered herself with her hands. "I knew you were just a pervert."
"I'm not!" Jake said, angrily. "And that's not my point."
"I know, Jake." Taylor said. "You want to save the world. Fine. But I'm gonna help you."
"Say what?" Jake said.
"You can't do this all alone." Taylor said. "First of all, you're still a noob when it comes to your powers."
"Hey, I've gotten better!" Jake said.
"And second, it'll be on sight once the war inevitably starts." Taylor said. "You'll need to be extra prepared for that time."
"So, what are you proposing?" Jake asked. "Are you gonna train me?"
"I can't." Taylor said.
"Then why are you even here?" Jake asked.
"I can get you to a trainer to help better your abilities." Taylor said.
"And who's that?" Jake asked.
Taylor formed a serious look as she took a deep breath. "Your mother. . ."
"My. . . Huh?" Jake asked.
"Your mother had worked with your father for a long time." Taylor said. "She could know a thing or two about your inherited powers."
"No, I got that." Jake said. "But you mean to tell me that my mother is still alive?"
"You have to go!" Makayla said. "This could be a big moment for you! Hell, I'll even come with you. As support!"
"Yeah, sure. Bring all your friends." Taylor scoffed. "That won't be expensive at all."
"Taylor. . . listen to me right now." Jake said. "I want you. . . to take me back to Transylvania. And I promise that my friends won't cause too much trouble."
"How many friends are we talking?" Taylor asked.
"Let's see. . . I have to have Makayla by my side. And Douxie too." Jake said. "And of course, April has to come. Why wouldn't she? I guess that's really it, huh?"
"Mars should come, too!" Makayla said. "She's basically your cousin, too."
"Fine, I guess I'll add Mars to the list as well." Jake said. "But I think it's fair for that to be all-"
"And Megamind." Makayla said. "He'd probably love to travel to a remote place in the world."
"He's scared of cockroaches, sis." Jake said. "I doubt he'd survive a batty place like Transylvania. Plus, shouldn't he stay behind and keep things safe here?"
"I guess that's fair." Makayla said. "Alright then. I'll let him know that I'm going."
"Alrighty. . . looks like we have our plan." Taylor said. "Let's pack up and get going. I'll be waiting here."
And that was that. The team was going to Transylvania.
To be continued. . .
