Prologue

The story begins back in the past. Two kids were having fun and playing around in a field of grass.

One of the kids was a little girl with curly black hair, dark blue eyes, and was wearing a hot pink shirt and blue pants. The other kid was a little boy with cyan blue hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a red shirt and blue shorts.

They seemed to be best friends as they chased each other through the field, playing a game of tag.

"You can't catch me!" The girl teased the boy as she ran away from him.

"Oh, I almost got you!" The boy said with a smirk on his face. "You're just too fast for me."

"Well, you just have to be faster then!" The girl said, laughing.

The two kids continued to chase each other through the field. The boy couldn't seem to catch the girl, but he put on a sly smirk as he got an idea.

The girl continued to run away in order to not get tagged by the boy. But she got a weird feeling as she turned around to notice that the boy was not chasing her anymore.

"Huh?" The girl said in confusion. "Where'd you go, Jake?"

"Sneak attack!" The boy named Jake suddenly said, as he jumped out from the bush and grabbed the girl, causing them both to fall to the ground, as they both laughed as they were having a fun time together.

"Wow, Jake. . . that was good." The girl said with a smile and a giggle. "You really scared me for a second there."

"Well, it was better to get you to slow down than to keep chasing you." Jake said with a smirk. "Like my guardian said to me, 'work smarter, not harder'."

"You're guardian must be pretty wise." The girl said with a smile.

"Yeah. . . she is." Jake said with a smile. "It just sucks that we live kind of far away."

The girl then sat up as she looked at Jake with a sorrowful expression. "Well. . . why can't you just move here?" She asked. "We can play everyday if you did!"

"But we already play every weekend." Jake chuckled. "That's enough for me."

"Well, yeah. . . but just imagine." The girl said. "Me and you. . . living in the same area. It wouldn't be too hard for you if you just lived hear us."

Jake sighed as he also sat up. "I know, but I already told you before." He said. "The way I live right now. . . it's almost impossible."

"I know." The girl sighed.

"Look. . . I'll try and talk to my guardian and see if she can arrange something." Jake said. "But until then, this is the way it has to be."

Suddenly, there was a small ding heard as Jake reached into his pocket and pulled out a small phone.

"Is that your guardian?" The girl asked.

"Yeah. . ." Jake said. "I need to go home now."

"Oh. . . okay." The girl said. "But we'll play again soon, okay?"

"Of course." Jake said, as he put his shoes on. "I'll see you soon."

"Bye, Jake." The girl said, waving to him.

"Bye. . ." Jake said, as he sped off to another area back to his home.

The little girl frowned as she watched her best friend run off back to his guardian.

Back in the present time, an older version of the same girl was up in a tall building, looking out of a window.

"It's time to get going." A voice said from behind her. "You know where to go."

The girl then turned around and formed a serious look on her face as she nodded in understanding.

"I trust that you'll find him and bring him back here." The voice said. "Don't let me down. . . Taylor."
