April was shocked and a little scared to see what Jake had become. No, it wasn't even Jake anymore. It was a whole new being entirely.

"No. . . it can't be." April said. "This isn't-"

"Oh, but it very much is." Night Shade said with a smirk. "Jake is gone. All that remains. . . is me!"

At that moment, everyone had ran up to April and we're now staring up at the sky above them.

"Is that. . . Jake?" Raph asked in shock as he took in what he was seeing.

"Bro. . ." Makayla said as she was looking in in horror.

"Uh, this is bad right?" Mikey asked.

"Of course it's bad, shell-brain!" Donnie said. "We've got another possession on our hands!"

"Yes. . . well, I have to thank Jake for being so vulnerable." Night Shade said. "If it wasn't for Za-Naron, I may have never come this far."

"There's no way Jake would let this happen!" April said. "He's strong enough to fight back!"

"Oh. . . I see." Night Shade scoffed. "Then I suppose you forgot about the situation a few nights ago. You know. . . with the hunters?"

April gasped as she remembered what had happened that night when Jake first let out his inner monster.

"That. . . that was you?" April asked.

"So, when you brought him the lair the first time. . . this had already happened?" Leo asked.

"Well, he seemed to have snapped out of it when he was knocked out by Donnie." April said. "But I don't know if-"

"The we'll knock him out again!" Donnie said as he took out his staff, prepared to fight.

"Wait!" April said, attempting to keep Donnie at bay.

But Donnie didn't listen as he ran up to Night Shade in an attempt to attack him, but he just grabbed Donnie's staff and snapped it in half with one hand.

"Oh sewer apples. . ." Donnie said, knowing he was beat.

Night Shade then grabbed Donnie by the neck and sent a large bolt of lightning through his body, causing him to fly back into a car.

"Donnie!" Mikey cried out, as he watched his brother fly through the air.

"You really think you can defeat me?" Night Shade scoffed. "You're all a bunch of idiots!"

"No. . . I'll stop you!" April said, forming a serious look on her face. "I'll make sure Jake comes back safe! You can't keep control of him forever!"

"Oh yeah? And how do you plan on doing that?" Night Shade asked. "You had help from me to save you! But what help do *you* have to save Jake?"

"She has us!" Raph said, getting into a battle stance, followed by his brothers. "And we care about Jake just as much as she does! Maybe even slightly less. . ."

Night Shade growled as everyone had gathered around April was we're ready to fight back against him.

"Wow. . . you're all a bunch of naive little idiots." Night Shade said. "It's gonna take more than just the 'Power Of Friendship' to stop me!"

"Then, we'll just have to use an even more powerful tool!" April said, as she floated up into the air. "A tool that can match your abilities fairly."

"April, wait!" Leo called out to her. "You'll get hurt up there!"

"Don't worry, Leo." April said. "I'll be the one to save Jake. Even if it costs me my life."

"Interesting. . ." Night Shade said with a smirk on his face. "Let's see how far we can go with this, then."

"I'm ready when you are." April said.

"Oh, I've been ready since the beginning." Night Shade said with a smirk.

April and Night Shade then got ready with their powers as they were ready to fight each other.

Night Shade began to the fight by shooting a blat of lightning at April, which she was able to quickly dodge out of the way. April then retaliated by firing a blast of psychic energy at Night Shade, which he also dodged.

"Seems like we're on the same level." Night Shade said. "However, I thought you'd be stronger, all things considered."

"Don't mock me from Jake's body!" April said, angrily. "I'm still pretty weak from being taken control of."

"Then I should be able to kill you with one hit!" Night Shade said with a smirk.

Night Shade then shot another blast of lightning at April, but she managed to barely dodge it.

'This battle isn't going to go anywhere if we keep going back and forth like this.' April thought to herself. 'I need to get through to Jake, so he could break free from Night Shade's control!'

"You're not going to fight back anymore?" Night Shade scoffed. "How boring."

"No. . . I just need to make sure I can get through to Jake." April said. "If I can do that, then there's no need to fight too hard."

"Well, good luck with that!" Night Shade smirked. "He's too far gone to be saved!"

Night Shade then shot another lightning blast at April, but she managed to dodge it again.

"We'll see about that." April said.

At that moment, April then charged at Night Shade and grabbed him by the shoulders, now flying with him before she pinned him against a wall.

"What the hell?!" Night Shade said in shock by this sudden attack. "How did I let myself get in this position?"

Night Shade then tried to break free from April's grasp, but he couldn't move from her strong hold on him.

"Why are you so strong?" Night Shade asked. "This shouldn't be possible after what you went through!"

April then closed her eyes as she moved her hands down to Jake's hands and held them in hers.

"What. . . is this?" Night Shade said, now feeling like he couldn't move at all. "Why am I so flustered?"

"Jake is still in there. . . I can sense him." April said. "He's trapped. . . just as I was. But he is trying to fight back. . . unlike me."

"Well, he can struggle all he wants, he ain't coming back!" Night Shade said with a smirk.

"Jake. . . if you can hear me, I want you to keep fighting." April said. "I know you're stronger than you let yourself admit. You can fight the Night Shade's darkness with your own light."

"Aw, don't try and pull that crap!" Night Shade said, with a hint of disgust in his voice. "There's no way this will work!"

"It worked for me." April said. "Why can't it work for him?"

"Why do you care souch about this piece of trash human, anyway?" Night Shade asked in an angry tone as his eyes glowed a bright red. "He's nothing but a freak monster who let his emotions get the better of him! And look where it got him!"

"He's not a trash human being. . ." April said. "He's has a strong will and a loving heart! He cares about everyone, even if they do him wrong! I've noticed it beforehand."

"Stop lying!" Night Shade yelled.

"I'm not lying!" April yelled back. "Jake is the strongest person I know! And I know he wouldn't fall into your dark despair so easily! He's also too kind for your rudeness!"

"That's not gonna save him!" Night Shade said.

"Please, Jake. . . for the sake of everyone that you hold dear, don't stop fighting!" April said, trying to hold back tears. "Your friends need you. . . Your sister needs you. . . Your ex needs you. . . I-I need you!"

"Stop it!" Night Shade yelled as he tried to break free still, but still couldn't.

"Everyone is counting on you to come back to them!" April said, now letting her tears fall as she was starting to feel hopeless. "Please. . . come back to me."

"There's nothing you can do, O'Niel." Night Shade said. "The boy is gone! And soon. . . you will be, too!"

As he said that, Night Shade's hand suddenly grew long claws and he swiped at April, slashing at her side, causing a deep wound to form and blood to seep through her shirt.

April cried out in pain as she grabbed Night Shade's arm and kept it pinned against the wall. Her tears were now coming, due to her feelings intense pain.

"I'm not gonna give up on you, Jake. . ." April said, staring deeply into his eyes. "I care too much to let you go."

At that moment, memories of their past hangouts came into her mind as she remembered all the good times they had since they met.

"You were the only one who stood up for me when everyone else was hating on me." April said, as she continued to let tears fall from her face. "You were even helpful to everyone else around you. But who stopped to help you? You were so burdened with being the good guy. . . I don't blame you for finally giving in to your dark side."

Night Shade suddenly began to feel himself fading away as April was talking. It was almost as if Jake was s finally able to hear her and was fighting extra hard to fight back.

"You were so kind to me. . . I couldn't help myself but to become infatuated by you, Jake." April said. "And over time, I felt myself. . . getting some strange feelings deep inside. And. . . I think you probably felt it, too."

April then started breathing heavily as she felt the effects of the blood loss start to take affect on her state.

"I'm truly grateful that I met you, Jake." April said. "And to show you just how grateful I am. . ."

April then moved her hand up to and cupped the right side of Jake's face. She then leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on his lips, causing Night Shade to completely freeze in place.

'No. . . No no no no no!' Night Shade thought to himself. 'This isn't happening. . . she's too good for him. . . I can feel myself. . . fading.'

"Good. . . leave and never let me see your face ever again!" The voice of Jake said to him as Night Shade's vision went blurry and everything around him went white.

April held on for a few more seconds before breaking the kiss and looking Jake right in the eyes. His eyes were now back to the lovely shade of blue that everyone grew to recognize and love.

"April. . ." Jake said, as he began to feel weak from the fight.

"Jake. . ." April said with a smile as she floated down with him in her arms. "I'm so glad. . . that you're back."

Suddenly, April then felt her body five in as she went limp in Jake's arms, surprising him.

"April!" Jake called out to her.

But suddenly, Jake froze as he felt a sharp pain in his head as he suddenly felt weak in his legs. He couldn't hold up anymore as he collapsed to the ground, still holding April in his arms.
