Haunted By Her Past
Meanwhile at an apartment downtown, there was a young woman getting ready for a good night's sleep. She had reddish hair, blue eyes, and was wearing her pajamas. Her name is April O'Niel.
It's has been a long day as she has just finished a long day at school. Though it wasn't really a good one. She was constantly bullied and pushed down for something that had happened a week prior.
She had just got done with a traumatic night as she was possessed by an alien known as Za-Naron. And she went crazy with power and even nearly killed one of her friends. But she was able to get over it afterward as she destroyed the thing that caused her to become possessed. Unfortunately though, everyone somehow found out about it and she hasn't lived it down since.
But she has been trying her best to let her past go. She didn't want to have to be haunted by her mistakes for much longer. And despite everyone giving her a hard time about it still, she still was determined to put it all behind her.
"Man, what a day." April said to herself as she got ready for bed. "Good thing I'm away from all that drama for now. Too bad it's never going to end, it seems."
April then sat on the edge of her bed and looked down at the ground. "Why won't people just let me live and forget about what happened in the past?" She asked herself. "No one even saw it happen. Anyone will believe anything these days. I mean, it did happen, but. . . that was a week ago. I just want to forget about it already."
Suddenly, April's door opened and a man poked his head into the room. He had reddish hair, a reddish mustache and beard, and blue eyes. He was also wearing a suit. His name is Kirby. He is April's father.
"Uh, April? Can I come in?" Kirby asked.
"Come in, Dad." April said sadly as she kept looking down at her feet.
Kirby then came in her room and sat down beside her. "Is something wrong, sweetheart?" He asked. "You don't looked too happy."
"I just. . . I can't stop thinking about what happened last week." April said. "And it's thanks to those idiots at school who weren't even there when it happened?"
"You mean what happened with Za-Naron?" Kirby asked.
"What else could I be talking about?" April asked.
"Look, that was a week ago." Kirby said. "People just like to focus on the past and make others feel bad."
"I know and I wish they didn't." April said. "It's throwing off my reputation!"
"Listen. . . you just need to block out all of that." Kirby said. "Don't listen to those guys. They're clearly wrong about you. You didn't mean to hurt anybody. And you certainly weren't yourself."
"Yeah, but. . ." April began to say, but was interrupted when she felt Kirby give her a hug.
"You'll always be my little girl. No matter what." Kirby said. "Don't ever forget that."
April smiled as she hugged her dad back. "Thanks, dad." She said with a small smile. "I love you."
"I love you too, sweetheart." Kirby said with a smile. "Now try and get some sleep."
April nodded as Kirby left the room. April then got under the covers and looked up at her ceiling. Eventually she managed to fall asleep.
__________
After a while, April began to toss and turn. And suddenly, she opened her eyes as she was in a a black void. Confused, she stood up and began walking around.
"Hello?" She called out into the darkness. "Where am I?"
"O'Niel. . ." A mysterious voice whispered.
"Huh? Who's there?" April said, freaking out a bit.
"The darkness consumes you. . ." The whispering voice said again.
"Okay. . . who's there?" April asked. "Show yourself!"
April suddenly felt chills down her spine as she turned around and suddenly looked at herself in some sort of mirror.
But as she looked at herself, the more creepy everything became as her reflections eyes suddenly turned blank white and a creepy smile spread across her face.
"What the hell!?" April suddenly cried as she stumbled backwards.
Her reflection then began to climb it's way through the mirror as the creepy smile and blank eyes stayed plastered onto its face. It was then, that it spoke as it crawled out of the mirror.
"Remember me, O'Niel?" Her reflection spoke in a dark tone. "It's been so long. . ."
"No. . . No, it can't be!" April cried out in shock.
Suddenly her reflection began to change its shape until it mimicked the form of a black alien with bright, glowing blue eyes. It was none other than Za-Naron.
"Miss me?" Za-Naron spoke with an evil smirk.
"Impossible! I. . . I destroyed you!" April said in shock and she crawled backwards to try and get away. "You shouldn't be here!"
"Yes, my physical form has been destroyed. . . but my soul still lives on!" Za-Naron spoke as she got closer to April. "Inside of you!"
As she said that, Za-Naron charged at April as she became nothing more than an empty soul, as she went inside of April's body, causing her eyes to turn blank white.
_______
April suddenly woke up with a startled scream and gasped for air. It took her a minute to process that it was all a bad dream.
Kirby then burst through the door at the sound of April's scream. "April! What's wrong?" He said, sounding concerned. "Are you okay?"
Without another word, April suddenly began to cry as she put her face in her hands and Kirby immediately ran to her side.
"Hey, hey, hey. . . it's okay. I'm here now." Kirby said, trying to calm his daughter down. "You're okay. It's alright."
April continued to cry in her father's chest. Everything was not okay for her. As it turns out, she was far from getting over her past as Za-Naron still seemed to haunt her in her mind. It was clear that it was gonna take a lot more to help her get over her past. And Za-Naron was not gonna make it easy.
