Destiny (Epilogue)
Later that night, everyone had packed up and went home for the day. Jake and April told everyone that they were now dating, much to Donnie's dismay. Ryan and Trinity said their goodbyes as they left to do their time for their crimes. And the turtles even got Jake's and Makayla's contact info, so they could communicate better. Everything was going so well, that it was almost like they never even participated in a huge fight for humanity.
After saying goodbye, Jake went back up to the rooftop where him and April became an official couple. He sighed as he continued to look down upon the city.
"The city is quite beautiful at night." Jake said to himself. "I'm glad I'm still alive to witness it."
"That will all change soon enough." The voice of Night Shade suddenly said.
Jake rolled his eyes. "Well, if it ain't the mood killer himself."
"I'm just here to slap some reality onto you." Night Shade said. "The world isn't perfect, you know?"
"I don't need this right now." Jake said with a scoff. "I have everything good right now. I made up with my ex, found peace with Douxie, I have a beautiful girlfriend, and no one important hates me."
"No one important, you say?" Night Shade said.
"Just get to the point." Jake sighed. "Why are you still antagonizing me?"
"Remember what you read in the Grinmoire?" Night Shade asked. "About the battle between the vampires and the dark sorcerers?"
"Yeah, I remember." Jake said. "Didn't all the dark sorcerers die out after the battle?"
"Yes. . . well, all except one." Night Shade said.
"Huh?" Jake said in confusion.
"There was still one remaining sorcerer left alive after the fight." Night Shade said. "And it's the big man himself. . ."
"The Dark Lord. . ." Jake said. "Oblivion. . ."
"That's right." Night Shade said. "History only says that he went into hiding. But he's still very much alive."
"How is that possible?" Jake asked. "The battle took place centuries ago!"
"Dark Sorcerers can live for a long time." Night Shade said. "But for The Dark Lord himself. . . he's almost immortal."
"So, the vampires really had no chance to defeat him at all?" Jake asked.
"No. . . there is still a sliver of hope for the world." Night Shade said. "There's a prophecy that was put in place."
"A prophecy?" Jake asked.
Night Shade cleared his throat as began to recite some words from the prophecy.
"The prophecy states that one day, a descendant of the vampire king will team up with a distant descendant of The Dark Lord and will form a team of strong individuals to take down the looming threat of The Dark Lord once and for all. And they will become the greatest hero that anyone has ever hear of."
"That's lame." Jake scoffed.
"But not impossible." Night Shade said. "You've already learned that your father was a vampire. So, maybe your bloodline stems from that line of royalty."
"Yeah, right." Jake said.
"And as for the distant descendant of The Dark Lord himself. . . I'm not too sure on that." Night Shade said. "I guess part of the prophecy is finding them."
"So, you're saying that it's my job to find this other person and defeat The Dark Lord?" Jake asked.
"It's not a job." Night Shade said. "Think of it like. . . it's your destiny."
Jake looked back down at the city and formed a serious look on his face.
"If The Dark Lord decides to come out of hiding, then it will only be a matter of time before the world is at his mercy." Night Shade said. "It is possible that he may have already sensed your presence."
"What does that mean?" Jake asked.
"If The Dark Lord comes back. . . he'll be coming for you." Night Shade explained. "That's why you need to be ready for when that day finally comes."
Jake thought about it for a minute and thought that maybe Night Shade was being truthful.
"So, what do you say?" Night Shade asked. "You feel like you can take on this responsibility and save the world from impending doom?"
"How do you know all of this?" Jake asked.
"Not important." Night Shade said. "Just answer the question. Not that you have a choice, anyway. A confrontation with the Dark Lord is inevitable for you."
Jake then stood up as he stared out into the city, keeping a serious look on his face as he thought about the people he cares about. He may not know who The Dark Lord is, nor does he have the slightest hint of his power level. All he knew was that he was somehow destined to take him down. And all he could think about, was protecting the ones he loved.
"I'll do it." Jake said. "I'll prepare as much as I can for this future battle."
"Good." Night Shade said.
"I swear. . . once I encounter this guy, I'll stop at nothing to defeat him." Jake said. "If I'm destined to beat him in battle, then I will! I'll train my abilities to the fullest potential! I'll save the world. . ."
"Now, that's the confidence I like to see." Night Shade said. "And don't worry, I'll be with you every step of the way."
"Not that I can get rid of you, anyway." Jake said.
"I'm glad you understand." Night Shade. "May the gifts of love and spoils of war motivate you to do your best."

Meanwhile, hiding deep in the woods, there was a deep cave, which a very mysterious figure resided.
A hooded figure went inside the cave and deep inside, there was a large throne area, which a larger figure was sitting, obscured in the shadows.
"My lord. . . I found him." The hooded figure said.
The large figure didn't say anything, other than looking down upon the hooded figure.
"He's the chosen one." The hooded figure said. "He's the one who is destined to stop you."
The large figure breathed heavily. "Send my best men out there to stop him." It said in a deep voice. "The prophecy will not come true. Not when I still have centuries worth of a plan figured out."
"Are you sure?" The hooded figure asked.
"We have waited for centuries for this day to finally come." The dark figure said. "And I'm not about to let some fake story manifest into reality."
The hooded figure bowed and left the cave in search for his master's best henchmen.
The large figure than put on an evil smirk. "Jake Moon. . . your destiny is a lie." They said, giving an evil chuckle. "The dark age will come again! And there will be no stopping it! For I am. . . Oblivion!"
Oh. . . . . . so, it's not the end?
Well, for now it is. Stay tuned for the next story in the Moon Chronicles. . .
