Witch In The City
Meanwhile, up on a rooftop nearby, Eda has just came through her portal and was now in the city of New York. She looked around at all of the lights and listened to all of the sounds around the city.
"This is a nice place to live peacefully." Eda said with a smile. "But I'm not here to admire the scenery. I need to find Jake."
With that said, Eda got her staff and began to lay on it, while looking down at the city below. She scanned for the young man she was looking for, but didn't see anyone. It was very crowded on the streets as students were just now getting off from school for their summer vacation.
"There sure are a lot of kids around here." Eda said. "I wonder if Jake is amongst them."
Eda then flew down to the crowd of students and landed in an alleyway. She then walked out to see the group of students all walking back to wherever they were going.
"Excuse me?" Eda said, trying to get anyone's attention. "I'm looking for someone. Has anyone seen. . . ? Hello?"
All of the students just ignored her as they kept walking passed her.
"What a bunch of ignorant children." Eda said with a sigh. "Is this really how human high schoolers act?"
Suddenly, Eda felt someone bump into her. She looked down to see a purple haired girl stopped in front of her. It was none other than Mikan.
"Huh? Uh. . . hello there." Eda said, trying to act friendly. "I'm looking for someone. Have you seen a young man with light blue hair? He's about. . . this tall probably by now?"
Mikan didn't say anything as she looked up at the witch and backed up a bit.
"Huh. . . not much of a talker, huh?" Eda asked. "That's fine. I'll just keep asking around then."
"Are you. . . talking about Jake?" Mikan finally said.
"Huh? You know him?" Eda asked.
"I met him this afternoon." Mikan said. "But he didn't seem to know me."
"That's great!" Eda suddenly said loudly, causing Mikan to jump back a bit. "Um, I mean. . . where did you see him go?"
"I don't know." Mikan shrugged. "He kind of just was here and then he left."
"There you are, Tsumiki!" A familiar voice said.
As that was said, Wallflower ran up to Mikan and grabbed her hand. "Don't be running off into the crowd like that." She said.
"I'm sorry!" Mikan said, as she tried not to cry.
"Oh, you must be her friend." Eda said. "Can I ask you something?"
"Who are you?" Wallflower asked.
"My name is Eda Clawthorne." Eda said. "And I'm looking for someone. Do you know a boy named Jake?"
"Jake?" Wallflower asked. "Yeah, I guess so."
"Did you see where he went?" Eda asked. "Or see him in general?"
"I actually did see him today." Wallflower said. "But I don't know where he lives or anything like that."
"Oh. . ." Eda said.
"Why are you looking for him?" Mikan asked.
"Well. . . I wanted to find him and reunite with him." Eda said. "You see. . . I raised him from a little baby."
"So, you want to see him again?" Wallflower asked. "How long has it been?"
"Only about a year or two." Eda said. "Although. . . I doubt he'll remember me."
"Well, he doesn't remember us, either." Mikan said.
"No one remembers me." Wallflower said with a sigh. "What's one more person?"
"Oh, I'm sorry." Eda said. "Hey, how about you come with me? We'll find Jake all together."
"Are you sure?" Mikan asked.
"I don't know. . ." Wallflower said. "It doesn't seem like it's worth it."
"Well, I'll make sure he remembers you both." Eda said with a smile. "I don't know how, but we'll see what happens."
"Sounds like just another empty promise." Wallflower said with a sigh.
"I'll try." Mikan said. "After all, I really want him to know me again."
"Alright then." Eda said with a smile. "Any idea where he went? We can start with that."
"Yeah, he went that way." Wallflower said, pointing in a direction. "I think so, anyway."
"Then, let's head that way!" Eda said with a smile.
With that, the three of them went off to meet up with Jake, hopefully getting him to remember them.
