Welcome To The Boiling Isles

Once they stepped through the portal, Jake and his friends all found themselves in a whole new realm. One of magic and mystery surrounding every possible way around them.

"Woah. . . this place is so metal!" Casey said with amazement in his eyes.

"Where are we?" April asked. "It's incredible."

"It's something, alright." Jake said. "I didn't think such a place existed."

"Well, we tend to lay low for the most part." Eda said. "Not many people are aware of our existence."

"So. . . where is here, anyway?" Wallflower asked.

"Oh, right." Eda said. "Welcome to The Boiling Isles."

"The Boiling Isles. . ." Mikan said.

"It is pretty warm here." Makayla said. "I guess the name fits."

"So, this is where I grew up." Jake said as he looked around. "It doesn't seem like a fitting place for a small child."

"It's fine. You were fine." Eda said. "I took good care of you here. You weren't eaten or anything. Or maybe you were. . . just once."

"Eaten?!" Jake said in shock.

"Kidding. . . kind of." Eda said with a slight chuckle. "Anyway, let's get you suckers home to my place. I think you'll love it."

Eda then led them all to a small house in a secluded part of the forest surrounding them.

"Eda, you've returned." A high pitched voice said in an excited tone. "And you've brought new friends! Who are they? I want to say hi!"

"Not now, Hooty." Eda said with a frustrated sigh as she opened the door as everyone followed her inside.

Once they were inside, the door shut behind them and they were all crowded inside of the small house.

"Well, we may have to make some arrangements, but otherwise, I think I can manage." Eda said. "King, I'm home. Come out and meet our guests."

As she said that, there were strong sounding footsteps heard as a large shadow appeared on the wall in the hallway in front of them.

"Kya, what's that?!" Mikan said, as she clinged onto Wallflower's arm.

"Hey, let go of me." Wallflower said as she tried to break from Mikan's grasp.

The shadow continued to get larger as the footsteps grew louder and Jake got into a battle stance, ready to take on whatever they may face.

But what they didn't expect, was the source of the large shadow. Out from the hallway, King had stepped forth, holding a stuffed rabbit plushie in his arms.

"Hey, Eda." King said. "How was the trip?"

Makayla's eyes suddenly lit up as she gasped in shock as she was overloaded with cuteness.

"Oh my gods!" Makayla said, as she looked at the young demon. "It's so cute!"

Makayla then ran up and picked King up off the floor and held him in a tight embrace.

"Eda, who's this vile woman?!" King said, as he began to squirm and tried to get out of Makayla's grasp. "I thought you were gonna look for your son!"

"Well, I let him bring over some friends." Eda said. "Everyone, this is King. My, um. . . other adopted son."

"Eda, I can't. . . it's getting hard to breathe." King said, trying to catch his breath.

"Sis, let go of him!" Jake said

Makayla then gasped in shock as she moved her arms and King fell to the floor.

"Oops, sorry." Makayla said. "I can't help it. You're just too adorable!"

"Oh yeah?" King said, brushing himself off. "I bet you won't think that when I show you my true power, you fiend!"

"Sorry about that, little guy." Jake said. "My sister can go a bit overboard sometimes. You'll get used to her, though. I promise."

"And you are?" King asked.

"Oh, right. I'm Jake." Jake said, introducing himself. "Clearly, you've heard of me from Eda."

"Yeah, I have." King said. "It's nice to finally meet you."

"Likewise." Jake said.

"Wait, if you're Eda's adopted son. . . doesn't that technically make Jake your brother?" Casey asked.

"Well, I guess you could say that. I didn't even really legally adopt him." Eda said. "I kind of just found him and took him in as a baby."

"But I do love the idea of having a brother." King said, with a happy expression on his face. "Even if we're adopted brothers."

"Yeah, that's cool." Jake said. "It's nice to meet another one of Eda's adopted kids."

"We're gonna get along just fine." King said as he climbed up Jake and rested on his head, taking off his hat and putting it in his own head. "Let's have some fun!"

"Now, hang on a second." Wallflower said. "You're just gonna accept this all at once? Isn't this a bit much?"

"Well, I don't see the problem." Jake said. "They were my family before. They took care of me when my mother had to give me up. I owe them a lot."

"Well, I guess that's true." April said.

"Aww, that's so sweet!" Mikan said. "I wish I had a caring family like yours, Jake!"

Wallflower just sighed and didn't say anything else.

"So, what now?" Makayla asked. "I want to explore the rest of this place."

"I'm quite curious as well." Jake said. "Is it okay if we all got out on the town?"

"I don't see why not." Eda said with a smile. "That sounds good to me. Perhaps I can also make some sales while we're out."

"Alright!" Casey said, pumping his fist in the air.

Everyone then went outside of the house to get ready for exploration of The Boiling Isles.

But King and Eda stayed behind for a bit to take in what was going on.

"Eda. . . how come he doesn't seem to remember your time together?" King asked. "And most importantly. . . why doesn't he seem to remember me?"

"It's complicated." Eda said. "I don't really want think about it. Let's just enjoy the day."

With that said, Eda left the house to catch up with the others. King didn't seem too convinced not to worry about it, but he just shrugged and followed everyone outside of the house to explore the town.
