A Witch And A Demon

Meanwhile in a while different realm, there was a house somewhere hidden in a forest, away from any people. This house was a very special house as it houses a very powerful witch known as The Owl Lady. Well, she was called that by many people. Her name is actually Eda Clawthorne. And with her, was a small black demon with yellow eyes. His name is King.

They have lived together for a while now as roommates and best friends. In fact, Eda was like a mother to him.

Lately, Eda has been feeling a little bit down for some time now. And it had to do with something that happened a long time ago.

"What's the matter, Eda?" King asked. "You don't look so well."

"I'm fine, King." Eda said. "I've just been thinking about things."

"What kind of things?" King asked.

"Eh, just something from seventeen years ago." Eda shrugged. "It's not that important."

"That's specific." King said.

"I don't know if you remember or not." Eda said. "I don't think you were even around."

"Do you mind explaining it?" King asked.

"Well. . . if you must know." Eda said. "You're not the first child I took under my wing."

"I'm not?" King asked.

"There was another." Eda said. "A young human boy."

Flashback. . .

A young Eda Clawthorne was out doing her thing just waiting around in a nearby forest as a glowing door was formed behind her.

"What's taking Owlbert so long?" Eda said, sounding annoyed. "I didn't ask for much."

At that moment, a small owl creature came back through the portal with a basket in its beak.

"What's this?" Eda asked.

She then knelt down and looked inside of the basket. When she saw what was in it, she gasped in shock by what she saw. It was a newborn baby boy with cyan blue hair.

"A human baby?!" Eda said in shock as she backed away. "Where did this come from?"

The small owl gave a small 'hoot' and looked back at the basket and then at Eda.

"No, you have to bring him back." Eda said. "I can't take someone else's kid!"

The small owl just gave another 'hoot' as he looked back at the child.

Eda looked back in the basket and saw how peaceful the child was.

"I mean. . . he is pretty cute." Eda said with a sigh. "Alright, I guess if you insist, I'll take him."

With that said, Eda picked up the child and held him in her arms. The baby boy then opened his eyes to reveal them to be a beautiful blue color. The baby giggled as he reached his hands out towards Eda.

"He's. . ." Eda said, before realizing what something odd about the child. "There's no way."

The little boy yawned before cooing at Eda, who smiled back at him.

"You know what?" Eda said. "Whoever left this boy to you to bring to me, I thank them. And I promise that I'll take good care of him, too."

The small owl then flew up to Eda with a piece of paper in its mouth. Eda took it and read it. And all it said was 'Jakus Moon'.

"Jakus?" Eda said, looking down at the child. "No, that doesn't sound that good at all to me. How about I just call you. . . Jake."

The baby boy laughed again as the small owl perched on his chest and snuggled close to him.

"I'll take good care of you. . . Jake." Eda said with a smile on her face.

End of flashback. . .

When Eda finished telling the story, King was shocked and surprised that he never knew this before.

"You adopted a human?!" He said in shock and surprise. "That's cool! Where is he now?"

"He had to go back to the human realm." Eda said. "But I trusted him to find someone to take care of him better than I ever could've."

"It wasn't. . . because of your curse, was it?" King asked.

"No, I just couldn't take care of him anymore." Eda said. "But it's been a couple of years. I wonder how he's doing."

"I'm sure he's fine." King said.

"I wonder if he found out what he's capable of yet." Eda said.

"What do you mean?" King asked.

"Oh, it's not important." Eda said, before sitting down in the couch.

Eda kept thinking about the young boy she adopted years ago and just sighed.

"I kind of miss him." Eda said.

"Then why don't you go visit or something?" King asked.

"He's not gonna remember me." Eda said.

"You raised him from a baby." King said. "How won't he remember you?"

"I, uh. . . I erased his memory." Eda said.

"What?!" King said in shock when he heard that. "Why?"

"It was too dangerous." Eda said. "And if he remembered what happened. . . it would be too painful for him."

"But him losing his memory. . . that only makes it painful for you." King said.

"Exactly." Eda said. "That's why I can't go and visit him. It would be a wasted effort."

"I see." King said. "Sorry."

"But. . . I guess I can go and see how he's doing." Eda said. "Just in secret."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" King asked.

"I don't know." Eda said. "But I'm just gonna go ahead and do it anyway."

With that said, Eda opened up her portal and looked into it.

"Do you even know where he is?" King asked.

"Of course I do." Eda said. "Cause I sent him there."

With that said, Eda went to step through the portal.

"Wait, can I come to?" King asked.

"You should stay here and watch over Hooty." Eda said. "I'll be back quick. Don't worry."

With that, Eda then stepped through the portal as it closed behind her.
He sighed as he just sat down on the floor.

As he was sitting down, a long worm-like demon with an owl face slithered next to him. His name is Hooty.

"It's okay, little buddy!" Hooty said. "You and I are gonna have lots of fun!"

King just sighed as he ignored the bird headed demon. 'Please come back quickly, Eda.' He thought to himself.
