Seeking Help
So, with that, Jake and April went with Jakus to figure out how to get him back to his dimension. But first, they needed to make an important stop. . . at a diner.
"Oh man. . . this burger is so delicious. It's one of the best I ever had." Jakus said, stuffing his face with a big juicy cheeseburger. "You know, back in my universe, everything is destroyed. I could never get good food like this anymore."
April just rolled her eyes as Jake stared at him with an annoyed expression on his face.
At that moment, the waiter came by and put the bill on the table, before angrily walking away.
"Uh, you guys have money, right?" Jakus asked, looking hopeful at the two teens. "I'm not very liquid right now."
"Can we please focus?" Jake said, sounding annoyed. "About my training-"
"Of course." Jakus said, stuffing his face with french fries. "You gonna eat that?"
Jakus then grabbed Jake's burger and began to eat it without another warning. "Go ahead, I'm listening." He said.
"About my training. . . I expect that you could show me the ropes?" Jake asked. "You're older and more experienced. Do you have any advice on how to better use my powers?"
"Okay, well for starters, maybe invest in some conductive armor or something." Jakus said. "Or maybe just some conductive gauntlets. I don't know."
"*You* don't even wear armor." April said.
"Yeah, and that's my mistake." Jakus said.
"Anything else?" Jake asked.
"Nope, that was about everything." Jakus shrugged, as he continued to munch on fries.
"I can already tell you're gonna be a bad teacher." April said with a sigh.
"Alright, so is the lair still in the same location?" Jakus asked.
"Uh. . . yes?" April said, sounding confused.
"Alright, then let's go." Jakus said. "I don't want to wait any longer than I have to."
"Says the one who wanted to make a pit stop at a diner." April scoffed.
"Hey, a man's gotta eat." Jakus said.
. . . .
After paying for their meal, the three of them arrived at the location of the turtles' lair to see Donnie and ask him about how to get Jakus home.
"Alright, here we go!" Jakus said as jumped down the manhole, followed by Jake and April coming down the ladder.
"Gross. . . I haven't missed this smell." Jakus said.
"At the turtles alive in your universe still?" April asked. "Just curious."
"Yeah, they are." Jakus said. "But they're not really what you'd expect."
"What do you mean?" Jake asked.
"Well, Raph is is big guy who hunts down other wasteland mutants, Donnie is a robot, Mikey is a weird monk-looking thing, and Leo. . ." Jakus stopped dead in his tracks when he thought of his universe's Leo. "He's still missing. We don't know what happened to him."
"Oh. . . I see." April said.
"Alright, here we are." Jake said.
The three of them then went into the lair as the turtles were all hanging out in their living room. Mars and Makayla were also there as well.
"Uh, hey guys." Jake said. "We're back."
Makayla suddenly smiled as she ran up to her brother and gave him a hug. "Bro! Did you have fun last night?" She asked. "But not *too much* fun, hopefully?"
"Sis. . . knock it off." Jake said with a playful smirk. "It was just a nice date. We had fun together."
Makayla then suddenly caught sight of Jakus and stepped back a bit. "Who is this." She asked.
"You brought someone *else* down here?!" Donnie said, angrily. "Do you ever learn?!"
"Calm down, D." Jakus said. "I'm here to talk to you."
"Wait. . . there's no way." Donnie said. "Are you. . . ?"
"The name's Jakus Moon." Jakus said. "I'm from another universe similar to this one."
"Why are you dressed like you're ready for a demolition derby?" Raph asked.
"Well, my universe does have a lot of demolition in it." Jakus said. "But I'm not here to explain that. I'm here for help to get back."
"And you think I know anything about interdimensional travel?" Donnie asked. "Cause I do. To the lab!"
With that said, Donnie led Jakus and everyone else to his lab to see if he can figure something out.
"That's so cool that you're from another dimension!" Mikey said, ecstatically. "I didn't think that was possible!"
"So, this is a multiverse story now." Mars said. "Why am I not surprised?"
"So, you're curious as to what brought you here." Donnie said. "I'm not a huge expert in the subject, but I think I can help figure it out."
"That's why I'm here." Jakus said. "I trust that you can figure this all out and send me home."
"So, you mentioned a portal opening up before you were brought here, right?" Leo asked. "So, then something had to have happened *here* to bring him to us."
"Now that you mention it. . . I did catch a strange signal last night." Donnie said. "My tech went crazy when it happened."
"Is there a way you can pinpoint where it came from?" Jakus asked. "It may hold a key to me getting home."
"Why are you so obsessed with getting home to you're wasteland home?" Raph asked.
"I just have some unfinished business, that's all." Jakus said.
"You don't have to explain it." Leo said. "We understand."
"Let me see something." Donnie said as he began to type in his computer. "I bet I can track the weird signal. Give me a minute."
Donnie then typed away as he brought up the strange interference and read the information on it.
"Oh boy. . . I think I found the source of the strange signal." Donnie said.
"Where is it?" Jakus asked.
"It came from TCRI." Donnie said.
"No way. . . are the Kraang up to no good again?" Mikey asked. "Or maybe those hunter jerks made a lair there."
"TCRI. . . that doesn't sound like much of anything." Jakus said. "The tech back home is way more advanced than whatever this place could dream up."
"What's a kraang?" Makayla asked.
"Nothing important anymore." Leo said. "But what's important now, is going into TCRI to see who caused the interference."
"I agree." Jakus said.
"Now, hold on!" Raph said. "Is this really something for us to get involved in?"
"If it involves Kraang tech, then we have to be there." Leo said. "There's no other choice."
"I guess you're right." Raph said.
"What about me?" Mars asked. "I'm ready to kick some butt!"
"Me too!" Makayla said. "I'll gladly help both of my bros with their mission!"
"Alright, just a sec." Donnie said, As he dug through his files on his laptop and transfered them to a USB. "This is our kill switch. Whatever machine created the interference, we will shut it down."
"But there's only one machine in TCRI that we know of." Mikey said. "It's that Dimension X portal machine, right?"
"The one with the forcefield." Leo said.
"Yes. . . the one with the forcefield." Donnie said, rolling his eyes. "So, are we ready to go now?"
"I was born ready." Jake said.
"I've always been ready." Jakus said.
"Alright then. . . let's go, team!" Leo said. "It's time for another infiltration!"
"Yeah. . . let's do this!" Mikey said.
"Home. . . here I come." Jakus said, seriously.
