And Life Goes On

Meanwhile, back in New York City, there was a small gathering going on. It has been a few months since the disaster with Za-Naron, and everyone had been quite distant from each other for a bit. But now, everyone was here to get together and move on with life.

Down in the sewers, everyone was having fun. There was a big pizza party happening and everyone was there. Well, almost everyone.

You see, during the time everyone was distant, the turtles had their own big battle with their enemy, The Shredder. And during the battle, they had lost the one person they never thought would go so soon. That person being their father and master, Splinter.

But everyone wanted to keep moving on with their life. So that's what they were doing.

Sitting around a television screen, there were three mutant turtles all wearing a different colored mask. One with an orange mask, another with a red mask, and the third with a purple mask. Their names are Mikey, Raph, and Donnie. There were also two young men and two young women sitting next to them. One of the males with black hair with indigo streaks, and the other with cyan hair. Their names are Douxie and Jake. One of the two girls had red hair with orange streaks and the other hand black hair with silver streaks. Their names are Mars and Makayla. And they were all watching a special episode of "Space Heroes: The Next Generation".

-------

"There's no way!" The voice of a enthusiastic man said in the TV. "There's a whole multiverse of Captain Ryan!?"

"Well, well, well. . ." Another voice said on the TV. "If they're all here, then that must mean there's trouble afoot!"

Captain Ryan. . . it is I, the original Captain Ryan." The character known as Captain Ryan said seriously. "And I've come to you today to let you know that all of the different universes are in danger!"

"Then it looks like we must team up together to fight that danger!" The other Captain Ryan said.

"And we'll be getting their help, too." The original Captain Ryan said.

At that moment, in the screen, a while bunch of other Captain Ryans showed up, ready to fight the battle ahead to save their multiverse.

-------

"Man, multiverse stories are so cliche!" Mars said with a sigh. "There's a multiverse episode for everything these days!"

"You said it, sister." Raph said.

"It's not all bad." Douxie said with a shrug. "As long as it's done right, it could be fun."

"What do you think, bro?" Makayla said, looking over at Jake. "Bro?"

"Huh? Oh. . . yeah." Jake said, not really paying attention as he was looking down at his phone.

"What's keeping your attention, you Freak of Nature?" Donnie asked, sounding annoyed. "Are you texting April?"

"Not that it's your business." Jake scoffed.

"You're still going on with the rivalry?" Makayla asked, facepalming. "Come on, it's been months since Jake and April got together."

"Yeah, just give it a rest already." Douxie said.

"I can still have a chance." Donnie said. "I'll be watching closely!"

"Where's Leo, by the way?" Makayla asked. "He's missing an amazing special of his favorite show."

"He's in the dojo." Mars said with a sigh. "He's still mourning Splinter's death."

"We all are." Mikey said. "It's been a few months, but it still hurts."

"I'm so sorry." Makayla said. "We barely knew him, but he seemed like a great guy."

"He was the best." Donnie said.

"But what could we have done?" Raph said. "Shredder was way too powerful. I'm glad he's finally dead."

Jake sighed as he stood up and went into the dojo.

When he went inside of the dojo, he saw Leo sitting in front of a shrine. It appeared that he was meditating. Jake quietly walked up to him and knelt down beside him.

"Hey, Jake." Leo suddenly said.

"Oh, sorry Leo." Jake said. "I didn't mean to disturb you or anything. I just thought I'd come in here and join you for a bit."

"That's fine." Leo said. "I was just finishing the session."

"Splinter really meant a lot to you guys." Jake said. "He wasn't just your teacher. He was your father."

"Yeah." Leo sighed. "I mean, we knew this had to come eventually. We just weren't ready for it."

"At least you got to know him." Jake said with a sigh. "And the memories you make with them is what truly matters."

"You never got to know either of your biological parents, huh?" Leo asked.

"No, not really." Jake said with a sigh. "Based on the dreams I had before, I was really young when my mom sent me away. But my memory is really foggy after that."

"What about your father?" Leo asked.

"Well, apparently he was killed." Jake said. "So, I'll never get to know him. But my mother. . . hopefully one day I can finally meet her."

Leo sighed as he looked back at the shrine of his deceased father.

"But life has to move on." Jake said. "We can't dwell on the past forever."

"You're right, Showstopper." Leo said with a smile. "Master Splinter would want us to move forward."

"Showstopper?" Jake said with a hint of confusion in his voice.

"It's just a fun little nickname I came up with for you." Leo said. "Is it bad?"

"No, I like it." Jake said with a smile. "Call me whatever you want to."

"There they are." A voice suddenly said from behind them.

Leo and Jake turned to see Mikey and Makayla walk in the dojo.

"Hey, Shocker! What's up?" Mikey said.

"And the nicknames keep coming. . ." Jake said with a playful smirk on his face.

"What's going on, bro?" Makayla asked. "You just suddenly left us. The episode of Space Heroes is just getting good!"

"Well you better be recording it." Leo said.

"I just had to clear my mind." Jake said.

"Well, we were just gonna go ahead and start our patrol." Mikey said. "You wanna come with us?"

"Sorry, I have a date with April later." Jake said. "But next time, I will."

"Aw man!" Mikey said, sounding a bit disappointed.

"I'll go with you guys." Makayla said.

"Awesome!" Mikey said with a smile.

With that, Leo got up and went to join the others on their patrol. But Jake stayed behind and looked at the shrine with a sad look on his face.

Sighing, Jake got up and headed out of the lair to join April for their date.
