After hanging out with the turtles, Jake made his way over to April's apartment to begin their date. He was all dressed up in a nice suit and was ready to have a fun time.

Jake took a deep breath as he prepared to knock on April's door and take her out. He was nervous, but he knew he could do it.

Jake then knocked on April's door and waited for her to answer. 'This is okay. . . don't be too nervous.' He thought, reassuring himself. 'She's your girlfriend. There's no reason to worry about anything.'

At that moment, the door opened and April was standing there. And she was wearing a beautiful yellow dress and white heeled sandals. And her hair was tied up in a bun, rather than her usual ponytail.

"Hey, Jake." April said with a smile on her face.

"Hey, April." Jake said as a faint blush appeared on his face. "Wow. . . you look beautiful."

"Aww, thanks." April said as she blushed. "I thought I'd look my absolute best for tonight. Though, shopping for this outfit wasn't easy."

"I bet." Jake said.

"So, where are we going?" April asked.

"Well, since I don't have tons of money, I figured we'd keep it simple." Jake said. "But you have to wear this."

As Jake said that, he pulled out a blindfold and put it over April's eyes.

"Jake, what's this for?" April asked.

"It's for me to lead you to our date spot." Jake said. "Trust me, it's all gonna be worth it."

"Okay, I trust you." April said.

With that, Jake grabbed April's hand and led her to their special spot. But to do that, Jake would have to secretly get a ride.

He texted something on his phone and soon enough, there was a faint outline of a car driving up to them. It then stopped in front of them as the passenger window rolled down, revealing a blue alien with a big head in the front seat. His name is Megamind.

"Need a lift?" Megamind asked, in a different tone of voice, in a poor attempt to disguise his original voice.

"Is that Megamind?" April asked.

"He's gonna drive us to our destination." Jake said. "So, buckle up."

The two of them then got into the car as Megamind drove off to their next destination.

April was still wearing the blindfold as she could only imagine where they could possibly be going right now.

About an hour or two later, they arrived at their destination. They were now back at April's farmhouse in the woods.

"Thanks for the ride, Megamind." Jake said.

"I'll be back to pick you up later." Megamind said, before driving off.

"We're finally here?" April asked. "That took forever."

April then sniffed the air as she recognized where they were. "Wait, are we at my old family farmhouse?" She asked.

"Yes." Jake said. "But that's not the special part. Keep following me."

Jake then grabbed April's hand and brought her around to the back of the farmhouse.

"Alright, it's time to reveal the surprise." Jake said.

Jake then took off the blindfold, so April could see what's in front of her. And when she saw what was in front of her, she gasped in shock to see the setup in front of her.

It was a nice starlit picnic with lights strung from the trees. And there was a large setup with a large blanket and even a boombox next to it. Everything looked so amazing.

"Jake. . . this is amazing." April said as she definitely felt the surprise. "You did all of this?"

"Well, I did have *some* help." Jake said. "But it was me who came up with the idea."

"This is so cool." April said.

"And that's not all." Jake said. "I'll be right back."

With that said, Jake went into the farmhouse to grab something.

April smiled as she walked towards the lit area. 'This is so nice of him to do.' She thought to herself. 'Jake is too good for me. Boy, I feel so lucky to have him.'

"Go ahead and make yourself comfortable." Jake suddenly said, as he came back outside, holding two styrofoam boxes.

"You went to Mr. Murakami's?" April asked, recognizing the boxes.

"Yeah, it was where we had our first meal together." Jake said. "So, I figured I'd bring it back."

"That's so thoughtful." April said with a smile on her face.

"I'm glad you like it." Jake said, as he put the food down in the ground. "So, let's go ahead and begin our date."

April nodded as she took off her shoes and sat down on the blanket and Jake sat down next to her.

"Pizza Gyoza?!" April said in surprise. "You shouldn't have!"

"I know it's one of your favorites." Jake said with a smile.

As he said that, Jake pressed a button on the boombox as soft music began to play.

"This is so amazing." April said, taking bites of her Gyoza. "You really went all out."

"I figured that I'd make it extra special for you tonight." Jake said. "In honor of our 3 month anniversary."

"Wow. . . three months, huh?" April said. "It's been that long already."

"Yeah, it's crazy." Jake said. "It felt like just yesterday that I stood up for you and we became friends."

"Those were good times." April said with a smile. "And I'm glad that we met."

"Me too." Jake said. "And not to be cheesy or anything, but you're the best thing that happened to me."

"I can say the same thing." April said with a smile.

Jake then stood up and reached his hand out to April. "Wanna dance?" He asked.

"I'm not really sure I can." April said.

"Just follow my lead." Jake said with a smile. "I think I've got it."

April smiled as she took Jake's hand and stood up. The two of them then got into position as the music on the boombox kept playing and they began to slow dance.

Both: "Mm, mm"

April: "So this is love"

Both: "mm"

April: "So this is love
So this is what makes life divine

Both: "mm"

April: "And now I know"

Jake: "and now I know"

When the song was over, Jake and April leaned in and kissed each other on the lips.

After a few seconds, the kiss was broken and the two of them stared into each other's eyes.

"I love you, April." Jake said with a smile on his face, as he ran his hand through her hair. "Don't ever forget that."

"I love you too, Jake." April said. "And don't worry, I'll never forget you."

The two of them spent the rest of the night hanging out and enjoying their picnic. It was clear that they both loved each other very much. And they would never leave each other's side.
