A green colored Flying Wyvern with red spikes all over its body can be seen curled up and snoring as it slept in Area 11 of the Citadel. Around were dead Boggi who were foolish enough to touch his spikes which are laced with potent venom that even Kushal Daora's metallic skin can't withstand. This was the Lord of the Forest, Espinas. Espinas snored as he continues to sleep throughout the day.

However, a loud shriek is heard as a bird-like Monster in purple shell, white fur and large beak descends from the sky and rains fireballs down unto unfortunate Kelbis and Gowngoats, frying them. The surviving ones flee in panic as the their would-be killer lands on the ground. This was Yian Kut-Ku's meaner cousin, the Black Wolf Bird Yian Garuga.

The Bird Wyvern shrieks and went on a rampage, spitting fireballs against anything that moves. A struck Gowngoat hits the sleeping Espinas, which only made move his head to throw the dead herbivore while still not waking up. However, it's when a point blank fireball struck him in the face that did that deed.

Now awake and irate, the Thorny Wyvern gets up and roars in annoyance, enraged at whoever disturbed his slumber, which happens to the Yian Garuga. The Black Wolf Bird sees him and shrieks in response. Espinas lowers his head and charges forward. Yiang Garuga fires two more at his direction, but the Thorny Wyvern's carapace allows him to tank the projectiles and kept going. But not that was tough enough when Yian Garuga takes flight and lets out an ear-splitting screech, catching him off guard as he recoils from pain.

This gives Yian Garuga the opportunity to backflip and strike Espinas' face with his tail, breaking the main horn and knocking him off his feet. But Espinas rolls around as regains his footing. Enraged, the Thorny Wyvern fires his own fireball. The Black Wolf Bird is confident he'll take it without problem, but he squawks in shock when it struck his left wing and he was, burned poisoned and paralyzed in that part, leaving him falling to the ground  and crippled in one wing.

Espinas charges at the downed Bird Wyvern again this time he scores a direct hit by placing his body under Yian Garuga and flipping him over, his spikes puncturing the exposed flesh beneath and poisoning him. However despite the poison now entering him, he refused to die without a fight. He attacks with yet another fireball and  gives another loud screech make Espinas flinch, giving him enough time to knock him down and ruthless pecks Espinas's face with his large beak.

Yet Espinas holds his ground and soon enough the poison takes its poll as Yian Garuga's movements became more sluggish and unleashed a powerful fireball at his face. This time Yian Garuga was paralyzed and could only screech in pain as Espinas lunges forward and bites down on his throat and begins shaking him until his throat gets crushed in and Yian Garuga ceases to breath.

Espinas drops the dead Bird Wyvern and roars in victory. Now hungry, he starts gorging on his newest meal.
