Penny hadn't moved.

She just lay there with her head on Zach's lap as he tangled his hand in the girls hair comforting her and just needing each other presence at the moment.

They hadn't let go of each other since they got to the safe zone with the thousands of others and Penny really hadn't planned on it until Zach was being furiously tapped on the shoulder.

"Oh my god it's your parents. It's your parents." Claire said and the boys got up to hug them both.

Penny stood beside Claire watching feeling slightly jealous at the family love they had but smiling sadly as they hugged each other furiously. Before their mom went over to Claire and hugged her.

Zach looked back at the blonde who stood awkwardly before pulling at her wrist to bring her closer to them.

"Mom, dad. This is Penny. She really helped us alot today." He said smiling at her.

Before the girl knew it the mom had grabbed her in her arms and brought her to a tight hug and Penny couldn't help but let more tears fall as she hugged her back just needing someone there.

Penny furiously wiped her tears away as she pulled back and watched the group.

She kind of felt out of place as the family hugged more so she smiled sadly before making her way out to the sunlight where it was less crowded with people.

She looked out at the island and wrapped Zach's jacket that she still had tighter around her just taking in the events of the day and the feelings she had processed.

All the dinosaurs and she still managed to have a crush. Going through something traumatizing does bring you closer.

"Hey." Penny snapped out of her thoughts to look at the speaker.

Zach. Oh Zach how could she even explain everything that had happened today.

She couldn't so she just gave a tight lip smile. "Hey. Sorry I just got weird in there all the hugging."

Zach just flashed that smile that made her heart melt slightly as he came up beside her putting his arm back around her shoulder. "You're parents aren't here."

Penny bit the inside of her cheek trying to think with this boy so close to her. "There's a lot of things you don't know about me Zach." She said smirking looking up at him.

The boy couldn't help but laugh slightly as this girl still left him wondering.

That was the problem they didn't know each other they had just been through something so tragic without the time to get to know each other but there was something there.

"I wanna get to know you." He said inching his face closer to hers.

She definitely noticed his intentions but she wasn't gonna stop this as he lifted her chin up and their lips connected and he finally did something he had been wanting to do.

Penny couldn't help but get lost in the kiss as her arms wrapped around his neck which was hard since he was way taller than her, but she enjoyed every second of it, with the cliche butterflies in her stomach.

All their tension and built up emotions were put into that one fiery kiss. He made her feel so safe.

He felt like home.
