Chapter 2: A Regular Morning
Sulley snored in his bed then Mike entered the room as it hit 6:05 am.
"Hey! Good morning, Monstropolis. It's now five after the hour of 6:00 a.m. in the big monster city. Temperature's a balmy 65 degrees--which is good news for you reptiles--and it looks like it's going to be a perfect day to maybe, hey, just lie in bed, sleep in or simply...work out that flab that's hanging over the bed! Get up, Sulley!" Mike stated.
He blew an airhorn, but it didn't work. All he did was toss and turn. He sighed and turned towards the doorway.
"Y/N! Get up here!" he yelled.
He heard running and Y/N came in, already ready to go to work.
(A/N This is your new outfit, but the shirt and shoes are your S/F/C because your skin is your F/C.)
"Mike! You scared me to death! I could've ruined breakfast! Now what's going on?" Y/N exclaimed.
"How do you wake Sulley up? I may have to try it," Mike said.
Y/N almost laughed and told him, "Oh, trust me. You don't want to wake up my fiancé the way I do."
"Just do it," Mike requested.
She shrugged, got on top of Sulley, and kissed his lips. Mike immediately realized why he wouldn't want to wake Sulley up the way she did. They parted and Sulley opened his eyes with a smile on his face.
"I could wake up to that every morning," he said.
"Morning, Sleepyhead," Y/N smiled.
"Okay, it's official; you're waking him up from now on," Mike decided and walked out.
Y/N giggled and Sulley asked her, "What's so funny?"
"Oh believe me, you don't wanna know. Now go do your thing and I'll finish up breakfast since I've already trained with Mike. Okay, Blue Boy?" Y/N said.
"Sounds like a plan," Sulley answered and kissed her.
They got out of bed and he went to Mike for him to do his morning workout while Y/N went to make breakfast.
"I can't believe my wake-up call didn't work," Mike said.
"I don't believe I ordered a wake-up call, Mikey," Sulley responded while doing push-ups.
"Hey! Less talk, more pain, Marshmallow Boy!" Mike ordered.
Then he did the push-ups higher and growled ferociously when he was in mid-air.
"Feel the burn! You call yourself a monster?" Mike taunted.
Then he made Sulley run in place and he would hit the floor if the kid was awake or roar if the kid was asleep.
"Scary feet, scary feet, scary feet. Oop! The kid's awake! Okay, scary feet, scary feet, scary feet, scary feet-- Kid's asleep!" Mike said.
Sulley roared.
"Twins! In a bunk bed!" Mike replied.
Sulley growled up and down.
"Ooh! I thought I had you there," Mike whispered.
Y/N just finished breakfast and put them on plates then on the table. She then decided to see how the training was going. She couldn't help but let out a small giggle when Mike pulled out a child standee.
"Okay, Sulley, here we go. You ready? Follow it. Oh! It's over here! Oh, look over there! Don't let the kid touch you! Don't let it touch you!" Mike instructed as Sulley growled at it.
Then Mike piled up some furniture while Sulley pushed it.
"I don't know, but it's been said, I love scaring kids in bed!" Mike sang.
Then he would make sure Sulley brushed his teeth like a monster.
"Come on, fight that plaque! Fight that plaque! Scary monsters don't have plaque!" Mike commanded.
Then Mike started counting how many sit-ups Sulley was doing upside down.
"118. Do you have 119? Do I see 120? Oh, I don't believe it!" Mike counted until he saw the TV.
"I'm not even breaking a sweat," Sulley said.
"Not you! Look! The new commercial's on!" Mike remarked, going to the TV.
Sulley fell and Y/N went to help him up.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah. Thanks," he said.
She kissed his cheek and he went to the TV while she got their breakfast.
"The future is bright at Monsters, Incorporated," the announcer said on the screen.
"I'm in this one! I'm in this one!" Mike exclaimed as he sat in Sulley's chair, but was moved to his original seat.
Y/N quickly got the breakfast, gave it to them, then sat on Sulley's lap.
"We're part of your life. We power your car. We warm your home. We light your city," the announcer continued.
"I'm Monsters Incorporated," Betty said.
"Hey, look! Betty!" Sulley stated, took a bite of breakfast, then commented, "This is good, babe."
"Thanks," Y/N smiled.
"Shh!" Mike shushed.
"Carefully matching every child to their ideal monster to produce superior scream refined into clean, dependable energy. Every time you turn something on Monsters, Incorporated is there," the announcer explained.
"I'm Monsters, Incorporated!" Jerry said.
"We know the challenge--the window of innocence is shrinking. Human kids are harder to scare," the announcer continued.
"Of course, M.I. is prepared for the future with the top scarers, the best refineries, and research into new energy techniques," Mr. Waternoose said.
During him talking, it showed Sulley and Y/N scaring kids, making Mike cheer them on.
Then it showed a monster with something over his head that shows him what to do in a child's bedroom.
"Okay, here I come," Mike stated.
It showed all the monsters with Mike, Y/N, and Sulley in front. But as soon as Mike turned around on the TV, the logo for Monsters Inc. covered his face completely, only showing his arms, legs, and helmet.
"We're working for a better tomorrow...today!" Sulley said on the screen.
"We're here for you!" Y/N added on the screen.
"We're Monsters, Incorporated!" the other monsters on the screen stated.
"We're M.I.--Monsters, Incorporated. We scare because we care," Waternoose said as the logo enlarged and the saying appeared under it.
Sulley turned the TV off and he and Y/N looked to see Mike in a state of shock.
"I can't believe it," he said.
"Oh, Mike..." they replied with sympathy.
"I was on TV! Did you see me? I'm a natural!" Mike exclaimed excitedly.
The phone rang and Mike quickly answered it.
"Hello. I know! Hey, wasn't I great? Did the whole family see it?" Mike said then told Sulley, "It's your mom."
Sulley and Y/N just rolled their eyes.
"What can I say? The camera loves me," Mike continued.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N It looks like things are going well for you, Sulley, and Mike. Cool.
