Randall x Little Sister Reader pt. 2

Ten years have passed. Now it's 2022. You're nineteen years old now. Still to this day, you have not spoken a word since your brother had been missing. Or from what you know. But still. Not a sound of your voice has been let out since. It's been a decade.

You went throughout your entire adolescence without speaking a word. Not even a laugh. Just a smile. And you were nine years old when you stopped speaking. So, you actually went the majority of your life, silent. Your parents had no choice but to home school you. But soon, you were about to get a job and you'll be in for a surprise when you find out who works where you'll be working.

You're still living with your parents at the moment due to you not speaking. If it hadn't been for that, you'd be out on your own by now. Your own apartment. You're very intelligent, but just... still non-verbal at the moment. But you still needed some guidance with you being silent for so long.

Right now, you're up in your room. You've got a plush toy in your hand. It's one Randy sent to you before he was dubbed missing. It's a plush toy of a bear with five eyes and two antennas on its head. Normal in the monster world. You haven't let it go since. You'd have the bear on you, everywhere you went.

You almost forgot it at a restaurant at one point and you panicked. No sound out of you, but your mom and dad could tell something was wrong. The restaurant called and reminded them that you left your bear behind. They went and got it for you. You were happy. That was the last thing sent to you by Randy. You named it Icarus. You wrote it on paper since you stopped speaking for years.

You're on your laptop, talking to Vicky via messenger. It was better for you since you don't speak. You type, "Guess what." You send it. Vicky says, "What's up, girl?" "I'm getting a job soon." "Oh sweet. Where at?" "Monsters Incorporated." "No way. Monster Inc?" "Yes way. They're fully aware of me not speaking, too. But I got the job." "Awesome, girl. I'm proud of you." "Thanks, Vicky. I look forward to this. I was told that when you scare human children, you don't need to speak. So that's a plus." "Right? Remember Slender Human?" "Ha ha. Yeah. We used to play that all the time."

You sit back in your chair. You get this from Vicky, "I have to tell you, girl... I wish you would speak again. I'm curious to hear how you would sound now." "Yeah. I know. But I'm so used to being silent. I don't know if I can actually speak, now. I've been quiet for most of my life." "Yeah. I know. I'm fully aware of why." "Randy and I were very close siblings. He was everything to me." "Hey. What if he's one of the employees at Monsters Inc?" "He won't be. He's gone, Vicky. He's not coming back." "I'm sorry, (Y/N)." "It's okay. But I just really want him back." You and Vicky continue talking.

(Time skip.)

The next day, you're on your way to Monsters Inc. Your dad is driving you there. Your mom's up front. Your mom says, "(Y/N) honey. You've got the biggest surprise of your life once we get you to work."

You have a writing board with you and an expo marker. You write something down. You put it up to the front seat to show her. She takes it and it says, "I get to be on the scare floor?" She says, "Well, there's someone that works on the scare floor that you'll want to see. So, you're not far off, honey." You nod.

You get to the company and you look out at the large building. You smile. Your dad says, "You seem like you're already interested, (Y/N)." You nod. Your dad parks in a spot closer to the building and you all get out of the car. You've got the writing board and marker with you to communicate with others.

You walk towards the building and you get to the doors. You see other monsters going in there. Two look over and the first guy tells his friend, "Dude. Those three look like they're related to Randall Boggs."

The second says, "Yeah. I know. Might be his family." He gasps and they both whisper, "That's Randall's family." The first guy says, "I heard from Ms. Roz about the younger chick. Saying she hasn't spoken a word in ten years." The second guy whispers, "Holy shit. Poor girl. Wonder why that is."

You get inside and you look around and smile. Your dad says, "How do you like it, sweetheart?" You look at him and you give a thumbs up. He smiles and says, "Glad you're interested in working here."

Your mom says, "Honey. There's another surprise for you here." You make the signal of 'what'. She says, "Someone you'll want to see. And I don't mean Mr. James P. Sullivan or Mike Wazowski." You look at her with question.

You see a large fuzzy blue monster with curly horns on his head, a tail, etc. And you see a short green monster with one eye approaching you guys. The blue one says, "Hi there. You must be the Boggs family." Your dad grins and says, "Ah, Mr. Sullivan. Hello there. Yes. We're the Boggs family. I'm Stuart. This is my wife, Gayle. And our daughter, (Y/N)." You smile and you wave.

Your mom says, "Unfortunately, our son isn't around. Last we heard from him was ten years ago." Your dad says, "(Y/N) hasn't spoken since we broke the news about her brother missing." You sigh and you nod. You write something down. You show them and it says, "They're right. It's been ten years since I said a word."

Mike says, "Wow. Really? That long?" You nod. Mike says, "Boy, I can't even go a day without speaking." Sulley says, "Mike. You can't go five minutes without speaking." Your dad says, "Mr. Sullivan. A word if you don't mind." Sulley says, "Not at all." He and your dad walk off.

They get to a hallway and your dad faces Sulley. Your dad says, "Mr. Sullivan. We know you have our son Randall working here. If you can... set it up to where our (Y/N) can reunite with him on the scare floor."

Sulley says, "Alright. I will. Randall's been made aware that (Y/N)'s working here. He shows up in an hour. I'll hold off on the scare floor for the others until after the reunion." Your dad smiles and says, "I appreciate this, Mr. Sullivan. (Y/N) has been silent since she found out her brother supposedly went missing after leaving college."

Sulley sighs and says, "He lost to me in the scare games and he lashed out." Your dad says, "Go on." Sulley says, "I feel like him leaving is partly my fault. I feel awful that he lost. He's been very competitive towards me since. He came back after ten years, but he's not the same. I do hope he can at least reunite with his sister."

Your dad says, "Believe me. I do too. It's been too long and I'd love to hear my daughter speak again. We've taken her to therapists. Everything. None could help her." Sulley says, "My god." Your dad says, "We did medication. All of that. Nothing. We had to home school her because kids were bullying her for being silent."

Sulley says, "Oh, I'm sorry that happened, Mr. Boggs. As soon as Randall gets here, I'll have this all set up so he can reunite with his sister. He has mentioned her a couple of times. But he has no idea that she stopped speaking."

Your dad says, "Actually, he does. We recently called him and I let him know." Sulley says, "So he does know?" Your dad says, "Yeah. And I just want to see our son again. I know (Y/N) really wants to see her brother again. They were so close. Inseparable. Best friends. You name it. All of that was taken from (Y/N) after Randall was deemed missing."

(Time skip.)

Later on, there's a familiar purple reptile guy. Turns out it's Randy. Or Randall Boggs. He doesn't wear glasses anymore, but seems to be squinting. He's on the scare floor, but is the only one. Sulley told him to go in there and wait for someone. He's in for a surprise.

He says, "Where the hell is everyone?" He sighs and he walks around saying, "Who is it I'm supposed to see? I was told my sister's working here soon..." He stops and says, "Unless it's her I'm supposed to see." He stands there and waits.

Right outside, you're walking down the hallway. Writing board in your arms. Marker clipped to it. You've got Icarus strapped to your bag. You look around. You suddenly spot a sign reading 'Scare Floor.' You walk towards it and you head inside. You look around and you see a bunch of gates where you would assume doors go for monsters to go in and scare kids for their screams.

You walk in there a little further and you suddenly spot someone. Looked like another reptile like yourself. Only purple. He looked familiar. He sees you. You approach him. Randall realizes who it is and he gasps. He quickly crawls over there and he stands in front of you saying, "(Y/N)... Is that you?"

You realize who it is and you suddenly drop your writing board. There he is. Your brother who's been missing from your life for a decade. Your mouth is opened from shock. Randall says, "(Y/N)." Your lip quivers. He says, "(Y/N). Come here." He holds a hand out. You take his hand and he pulls you in for a hug. You hug him back.

Suddenly in over ten years, you let out the first sound of your voice. You suddenly start to cry like you never have before. You start whaling. He holds you close and he says, "Shh shh. (Y/N). Hey. It's... it's alright now, baby. It's okay. Shh shh. I'm here." You continue crying. He says, "I've missed you, too. So much." He kisses you on the forehead.

You speak for the first time in ten years and it comes out as more of a stutter as, "R... R-randyyy!" You say that, still crying. You're both unaware that your parents, Mike and Sulley are watching from the exit.

Your mom gasps and she puts her hand up to her mouth. She says, "Oh my god. It... it worked. That's the first thing she said in so long. She hasn't even cried since, either." Sulley says, "Sounds like she's been keeping it bottled up inside from the sounds of those cries."

Mike says, "Maybe now Randall can be in a better mood. Just saying. He's got his sister back." Your mom says, "I have something to talk to Randall about later. About (Y/N)." Your dad says, "Let's let them be for now." They walk off. Your brother continues to comfort you after so long.

(Not over yet.)
