A day passes. You're at the hospital. Why? It's because Randall got involved in a car accident and it knocked him out. The other driver that slammed into his car lived as well but ended up the luckier one. The other driver was a male monster, but only ended up with a couple of broken ribs. 

Why was HE lucky? Well... it's because no damage was done to his head... or brain. You found out that when the other car hit Randall's car, he flew out of his seat and his head hit the windshield cracking the glass... but it possibly cracked something of his, too. Or did some damage.

You're in the lobby. Celia Mae, Mike, Sulley, Waternoose, Jeff Fungus who is Randall's scare floor assistant is there as well and your dad are there. Truth is that your mom actually passed away a year-in-a-half ago from heart failure. 

Your dad's been doing his best to make your living expenses as good as possible, him being the rich costume shop owner with you being next in line to run his business after he retires or passes. You're devastated right now after hearing about Randall.

You sit there on your chair, sobbing. Your dad's comforting you. He says, "It's alright, honey. He'll make it." You say, "But what if he doesn't, daddy?!" You sob. He pats your back. The others look at you with sympathy. Waternoose sighs and says, "I'm sorry, (Y/N). Nobody wished this upon Randall. Nobody." You sigh and you sit back. He gives you that sympathetic look.

(Yes. The second time I've made Waternoose a good guy like in my story My Favorite Scarer. I've been making Randall sympathetic. Then again, Monsters University makes you realize that about Randall. Imo, it was Johnny Worthington that turned Randall into a jerk.)

The doctor comes out. She's a tall yellow colored monster woman with squid like features. She's got on a white shirt like any doctor would have on. Dr. Wanda Greenfield is her name. You look up to see her and you say, "Dr. Greenfield. Tell me... How's Randall?" You put a hand up to your heart. Celia takes your other hand. You sigh. Celia pats your hand out of comfort.

Dr. Greenfield says, "Well, good news is... he'll live." You sigh and you smile out of relief. The others look at you. Sulley says, "See? He'll be alright." Dr. Greenfield says, "But the bad news... That car accident did a number on him." You look at her and you say, "Tell me, doc. Let me know what's wrong with my Randy. Please? I'll do anything to protect him." 

She says, "Well, honey... That force to the windshield to his head had done some damage to his brain." You gasp. The others are shocked by this, too. She says, "He woke up and well... How do I put this? He won't be the same for a while." You say, "How, though?" She looks at you all and says, "Randall Boggs will probably be displaying somewhat... child-like behavior with the brain trauma." 

Waternoose is surprised and shocked to hear this. He says, "Come again? He's one of our top scarers." Dr. Greenfield says, "I'm afraid so, Mr. Waternoose, sir. That car accident has caused a mild brain trauma towards him. Luckily, this isn't permanent... but this could last up to a year or so. He'll need guidance." 

You sigh and you look away. The others look at you with sympathy. Celia comforts you. So does your dad. You sigh and you say, "Oh, Randall." You put your hand up to your face and tears come down. 

Dr. Greenfield sighs and says, "All you can do is hope he'll recover asap. This is temporary but will last up to at least a year or so." You look at her and you say, "So long as he's alive and well, doc. I'll do anything to have him with me."

(Time skip.)

Three days go by. This is the day Randall comes back to work. You all have been informed that he'll be acting differently from the brain trauma from the accident he was in. You just wanted him back. 

Before all of this though, Waternoose had to make some changes. He asked if YOU could scare and you showed your scare. He was impressed. The reason is that he told you this, "Randall won't be capable of scaring human children for now. You'll have to take his place." You were saddened, but you agreed to it. So now, Fungus will be assisting YOU instead of Randall since Randall won't be able to with his current trauma. 

After all, the monster world did need human children's screams for power, electricity, etc. It had to be done. You were doing this mostly for Randall, since you know he won't be able to, now. He comes back today and he'll be completely different.

You're picking up Randall right now. After his accident and his child-like behavior from the traumatic experience with the car accident, he won't be able to drive himself to work or to home, so you'll be driving him. 

Waternoose is standing and facing Sulley, Mike, Celia, Fungus and others. He says, "Alright everyone. Listen up. I need you all to be courteous about this. Randall's been in a pretty serious accident. A car accident that lead to a temporary brain trauma. He won't be able to scare human children in his current state. That's why I'm having him and (Y/N) switch job positions in the meantime. She makes a great scarer. I've seen her scares and she's capable. So, Fungus... you'll be assisting HER until Randall is healed from this. It may take up to a year or two like the doctors said, but we all need to be patient. At least we have a scarer in his place who's capable." 

They all nod in agreement. Fungus nods and says, "You have my word for it, sir." Waternoose says, "Good. (Y/N) will be here anytime with Randall. Do not be alarmed by his child-like behavior. That car accident has done a number on him." They all agree.

Suddenly, they look to see you coming through the doors. You've got Randall with you. He's clinging to you as if he's a scared child. He looks around and he says, "This place is so big." You say, "It's okay. You work here." He looks at you and he says, "I-I do?" You look at him and you say, "Yeah. You're... working at the desk. As a receptionist." 

He says, "Where do YOU work?" You say, "I'm a scarer. I scare human children." He smiles and says, "Ooh. Spooky scary monster lady." You smile and you say, "Yeah." You stroke his face and you say, "It's for the best, sweetie." He smiles at you and he says, "My best friend, forever." 

Mike does a 'tss' sound and he whispers, "Oh wow. This is sadder than I thought." Sulley whispers, "Shh. Be cool, Mike. This is what brain trauma does to a grown monster after surviving a car accident. Even Randall of all monsters." 

Celia sighs and puts her hands up to her mouth. She whispers, "My god. I see the slight scar on his forehead." Fungus whispers, "Aw gee. Poor guy." Waternoose says, "Remember. Courtesy." They all nod in agreement.

Randall looks to see the shirt you're wearing and he giggles. You grab his hand and you say, "Do you see something interesting, sweetie?" He points at your chest and he says, "You've got two bumps in your shirt. In other words, jugs." He giggles like an immature child. 

You smile and you say, "It's alright, sweetie. Come on. Come with me. Let's see the others." He says, "Okay." He hugs his arms around you and he says, "My best friend." He sighs. You say, "Be cool, sweetie." You hold him close and you see the others. You and Randall approach them.

Waternoose says, "I see you've agreed... You'll be a scarer. He'll be the receptionist." Randall grins and says, "Ring ring ring. Phone call. Hello. Monsters Incorporated. How may I help you?" Sulley and Mike make a 'tss' sound. Sulley whispers, "I won't lie Mike. I feel bad for him right now." Mike whispers, "You're telling me." 

Waternoose says, "Have a small talk with Randall. Trust me. He's more capable as a receptionist right now. Just show him some of what to do and come down to the scare floor with us." You say, "Will do. Thank you, Mr. Waternoose." He nods and says, "Take some time. He needs guidance." You smile and you say, "Thank you." The others walk off.

Randall faces you. You face him. You see the scar on his forehead and you reach your hand up to run a finger along it. That's where he has stitches after the accident. You say, "Oh, baby." He smiles and says, "Baby?" You say, "Come on. Let's show you how to operate phones, huh? How about it, sweetie?~" 

He grins and he claps his hands together saying, "I'd love to!" Others look over, but you didn't care. All that mattered to you was Randall and you were willing to do anything for him because you love him. 

You say, "Let's get started, huh? Don't you worry. This is easier than you think, baby. You're on the other line and they can't hurt you." He smiles and says, "Yeah. They can't hurt me." You look away and you whisper, "Nobody will." 

You look at him and you say, "Come with me." He takes your hand and he grins and says, "I love yooou.~" You blush and you smile. You say, "I love you too, Randall. I always have and I always will. Come on." You lead him to his new job. And since you're switching places. Reasons, too.
