(Note: I put bitter to sweet instead of brain damaged or childish Randall. In this one shot, Randall gets in a car accident and ends up in the hospital. He survives, but with pretty bad consequences. He develops a bit of brain damage and he displays child-like behavior. So, this will probably be sadder, yet somewhat funny if anything.

Also, this is set to if they never met Boo. So, they're still scaring kids.)

It all starts with a sunny day in Monstroplis. A city where a huge population of monsters live. The home of Monsters Incorporated. The factory where monsters go through the doors of human kids and scare them. They have these yellow canisters that fill up from screams. That's where your energy comes from. Your power. Electricity. You get the picture. 

You know this because you took a field trip to Monsters Incorporated when you were a kid. (This means Sulley, Mike, Randall and Celia were also kids at the time.) You had a boy in your class by the name Mike Wazowski. 

Other kids didn't play with him. You had friends yourself. You were popular, but you felt bad for Mike, so there were days where you would talk to him and ask how his day is going. Your friends threatened to stop being friends with you if you kept talking to Mike. So, you gave in and stopped talking to him.

Your name. (Y/N) (L/N). You're a young monster woman. You're twenty-eight years old. When you look back at those days in school, you regret ever being friends with Martha Whitman who was the queen bee and Julia Marsh. The two girls who were you so-called 'friends'. 

They turned out to be toxic. You felt bad for stopping talking to Mike Wazowski. You wished you could go back and apologize for ignoring him. You at least didn't say anything horrible about him. 

But one day in high school, Martha demanded that you say something horrible about him and you refused. She and Julia stopped talking to you and they called YOU the freak. You didn't care, though. Those girls were a bunch of vultures, anyways.

But when you went to Monsters University, things were better. You've actually met the cutest guy you've ever seen in your life there. His name was Randall Boggs. He went by Randy. He was super sweet, shy, etc. And Mike Wazowski was his roommate. You got the courage to talk to Randy and he seemed to take a liking to you, too. You actually started dating him at that time.

But things went downhill afterwards. After some incident, you never saw him again. Not a call or anything. Not even a letter from him. It saddened you. As the years went by, you had refused to go on any dates whenever some guys or girls would ask you. 

All that was on your mind was Randy Boggs. You wanted to see him again, but something in your head said he's either missing or dead. It's been over a decade since you last saw your precious Randy. You would rather be single for the rest of your life than date anybody else but him.

You're in your house right now. It's one of those fancy townhouses there in Monstropolis. You come from a wealthy family, so your dad who's the CEO of a costume company pays extra for your fancy townhouse living. You told him that wasn't necessary helping you pay the majority of it, but he insisted. Your parents loved you and spoiled you. 

That's another reason you were popular in elementary and middle school. Because your ex-friends knew you were rich. When you think about it, they wouldn't have befriended you in the first place if you lived in a trashy studio apartment or a two-bedroom apartment with some chump living with you rent free. 

You would've been in the same place as Mike and Randy. Randy himself went to a different public school in Monstropolis, but he opened up to you and told you he was bullied and picked on. You consoled to him and told him things would be alright. He was thankful. You just wished he would return.

You're actually getting ready to start your job today. You'll be working at Monsters Incorporated as the new receptionist. The former receptionist had to quit because of a family issue. So, you'll have their spot. You're stoked to be working there.

You've got your keys, phone, bag, etc and you say, "This is it. My first job at the best company in the monster universe. Monsters Incorporated. Oh, this is great. The best place you can possibly work at and I've been accepted by the CEO, Henry J. Waternoose." Little are you aware, one of the top scarers there is a special friend of yours from university.

You head out and you get to your car. It's a pretty expensive car, too. You coming from a wealthy family. Your dad bought you that car as well as the townhouse. You put the key in the ignition and you start your car. You pull out of your parking space on the side and you drive off to your new job at Monsters Incorporated.

(Time skip.)

You made it to the factory and you're meeting the CEO himself. Henry J. Waternoose. He smiles as he sees you and he says, "Ah, you must be the new girl starting today. Miss. (Y/N) (L/N), am I right?" You smile and you say, "Yes, sir. I'm her." 

He says, "Welcome to Monsters Incorporated, Miss. (L/N). I'm Henry J. Waternoose. CEO of this company." He holds a hand out and you shake it. You say, "Thanks for having me here, sir." You move your hand away. He says, "Feel free to look around the place for today. You'll start your receptionist position, tomorrow." You nod and you say, "Much appreciated, sir." 

He says, "But first, you'll want to meet the others. Including my top scarer. James P. Sullivan." You say, "I'd be delighted." You follow the CEO and you see two more monsters. Then you think of something and you say, "Wait. Sullivan?" Waternoose says, "That's correct."

You look over and you recognize them right away. You say, "Oh my god. It's Mike Wazowski and James Sullivan from college!" Mike and Sulley look over at you and they gasp. They recognize you as well. Mike smiles and says, "(Y/N) (L/N)! My god, it's been forever. How are ya?"

You say, "Oh. Can't complain. Hi, James." Sulley smiles and says, "Hey, (Y/N). Haven't seen you in a while. How's life going for you?" You say, "Oh. Alright. Besides my boyfriend going missing back in college. I've been alright, nonetheless." Sulley asks, "Who was your boyfriend?" You say, "Randy Boggs."

Mike and Sulley both look at you. Mike says, "Oh. That's right. Randall actually had a college sweetheart. That WAS you, wasn't it?" You sigh and you nod. You say, "I haven't seen or heard from him since he left the university." Waternoose says, "Actually, (Y/N)... We have him here."

You gasp and you say, "C-come again?" He nods and says, "That's right. He's one of our top scarers. Just right below Sullivan here." You sigh and you say, "What I would give to see him again." Mike says, "Well, you can... But..." You look at Mike and you say, "But what, Mike?" He says, "He ain't like he used to be. He's a bit bitter now."

Sulley says, "Sadly, Mike's not lying. Since he lost to me during the scare games back in college, he's changed." You say, "I see. Still, though. I just need to see him again... If that's alright." They all nod. Sulley says, "Trust me. You'll see him some time soon, anyways." You smile and you say, "Thanks." You look away and you sigh. 

Mike says, "Don't fret, (Y/N). He may not be keen with me and Sulley here, but he couldn't have forgotten about YOU." You look at Mike and you say, "But I haven't heard from him or gotten a letter since he left university. Not a mention of him from anyone." 

You're unaware that a familiar purple scaly reptile monster with eight limbs overhears this and he looks over to see a familiar female monster. He says, "Wait. Is that?..." His eyes widen and he whispers, "Oh my god... It's her."

(Time skip.)

You're sitting in the lounge after a little tour around the factory. You sit there, eating a chocolate pudding pop that an employee named George offered you. You thanked him. You've noticed the bandages on him and you asked what had happened. He told you about the whole 23-19 incident and you hissed at the thought. He just nodded and said, "Yeah. It was rough." 

You sit there eating your pudding pop and looking at your phone when you hear the door opening. You don't look up to see who it is because you're focused on some funny memes on your phone.

But then you hear this, "Long time, no see, (Y/N)." You gasp as you recognize that voice. You look to your left and your eyes widen. You drop both your phone and the pudding pop on the floor and you stand up to face this monster man. Turns out... it's your college sweetheart, Randy... or in this case, Randall Boggs.

You put your hands up to your mouth and you say, "Oh... oh my god. R-Randy?" He smirks and says, "Hey, (Y/N). It's good seeing you again." You sigh shakily and you put your hands down. You look away. He can see your lips quivering. He says, "Hey... I know I'm not all that great now. But that doesn't mean I'll turn against YOU, (Y/N)." You look at him.

He holds a hand out and he says, "Hey... Come here." You grit your teeth and you feel tears stinging your eyes. You run to him and you hug him. He holds you close. You begin to cry your eyes out. He rubs your back and he says, "It's alright, (Y/N). It's alright, now. I... I'm so sorry I didn't at least send you a letter. I'm sorry." You say, "Oh, Randy." You sob. 

He says, "(Y/N)... You're not seeing anyone, are you?" You shake your head and you say, "No! I couldn't bear to be with anyone after you left me, Randy!" He sighs and he says, "So... I've got you back, right?" You say, "Yes! Definitely! I still love you." 

He smiles and says, "Good. I still love you, too. I'm sorry I didn't send you a single letter. I was... I was just so blinded by anger. I feel so bad for ignoring how you've felt. I may be a despicable bastard in everyone else's eyes now... but I still have my soft spot for YOU." 

You sigh and you smile saying, "Oh, Randall." You hug him tighter and he holds you closer. You cry it out. He comforts you, letting you know he still had that loving and soft side towards just you. You were relieved that you were reconciled with Randall once more... and you still loved each other. Meaning you were still a couple that were torn apart by some circumstances.

You and Randall tie it off once more. He's bitter towards everyone else. But he's only competitive to Sulley on the scare floor because he's willing and dedicated. You appreciated that and he had your support. He was thankful to have you with him. He loves you more than he loves scaring human children.

But one fateful day came. You and Randall had been living with each other since you got together, much to your joy. But as he was driving home one evening after he worked and you were off work, he called you and told you he'd be on his way. 

But it didn't happen. What happened was... another car came for him and he looked up. Eyes widened and he yelled, "OH SHI..." Before he could finish, the car makes somewhat a blunt force into his car and he goes flying to the front of his windshield. He hits his head on the windshield so hard, it breaks the glass and knocks him out.
