Android 16 is one of the Red Ribbon androids created by Dr. Gero in the image of his deceased son to carry out his vendetta against Son Goku. While immensely powerful and fully mechanical, Android 16's pacifist and nature loving personality were deemed unfit for Gero's ideals, fearing he may defect to the good side. For this reason, he was not meant to be activated until those character defects were ironed out.

Android Physiology: Android 16 was made by Dr. Gero to be a fully mechanical android possessing superior strength beyond most other android units. Due to his artificial energy, he has no ki signature, but a built-in radar allows him to detect and analyze the power of others. Built for combat, 16 has a variety of weapons built into his body, including rocket arms. However, this is not all he has, as while he does not use normal ki, he can still utilize his own energy for various attacks. In addition, he was equipped with a self-destruct bomb that might inflict fatal injuries on an Imperfect Cell when it went off.

•Eye Lasers: 16 can fire lasers from his eyes.

•Hell's Flash: One of Android 16's ultimate attacks. He takes off the front half of his forearms, revealing a pair of built-in cannons capable of firing an incredibly powerful energy beam.
