Chapter 21: Another MIFT Job

Fritz was playing paper football with himself as everyone else was reading. But Jamie and Tylor couldn't help but sneak glances at each other.

"The crowd is breathless as he's going for the longest kick of the season. And here's the field goal to win...There goes footsie ball," Fritz said.

But then the work order came, blocking his shot.

"You win again, empty chair," Fritz sighed.

"You know, us hangin' out here, all hangin' out and stuff, reminds me of all those times we hung out at MU," Val reminded.

"Did we hang?" Tylor questioned.

"Yep!" Val nodded.

"I'm pretty sure we had that, just that one class together," Tylor pointed out.

"Look alive, guys, we've got a 418," Fritz announced.

"418?" Tylor asked.

"I'm on it, sir," Duncan said then clicked his tongue.

"That's the MIFTer spirit, Duncan. And take Tylor with you," Fritz instructed.

"Oh, no. I'm not taking College Boy," Duncan refused.

"Okay, then. Val, Jamie, you take Tylor," Fritz said.

Val gasped then said, "Cool! Our first 418 together."

"Whoa, whoa, not so fast," Duncan objected.

"What's a 418?" Tylor wondered.

"418!" Fritz cheered.

"A 418 is code for 'damaged room'," Jamie answered.

"Yeah. When a kid's room gets damaged, we go in and fix it," Val added.

"A real kid's room?" Tylor asked.

"Don't forget your helmets," Cutter told them.

"I don't need a helmet," Tylor insisted.

"That's the last thing Jimmy said. Was a temp. Went on a 418. Forgot his helmet, family dog showed up. Thought he was a chew toy," Cutter explained.

"Tragedy," Val added.

"I had his dented helmet bronzed if you wanna see it," Cutter continued, her voice cracking a bit.

"Tylor, there is no better way for a new MIFTer to learn than on the job. Now get movin'," Fritz replied.

"Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy..." Cutter mumbled.

"418. Got it. Okay. I'll get that. No, no. Sorry. We're just...I'm okay. I'm just..." Tylor said as he accidentally knocked stuff over.

"Are you sure, sir, that you don't wanna send in, say, an expert? Like moi?" Duncan asked.

"Back out," Tylor replied, trying not to trip.

"He'll do fine!" Fritz said.

Then Tylor fully tripped over his desk.

"Still time to change your mind," Duncan smirked.

"Oh shut it, Duncan," Jamie said as she helped Tylor up.

A/N This Duncan annoys me. I have to clarify since I actually like the one from "Total Drama".
